BE CAREFUL: THE ARTICLE MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

#3. Bruce Banner (Hulk)

Bruce Banner- famous scientist and specialist in the field genetic engineering. Since childhood, he was physically weak and was often ridiculed by his peers. Bruce always dreamed of being like Captain America (the frail young man who became a super soldier and a legend).

Having successfully completed university, Banner receives from the head of the anti-terrorist organization S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury interesting offer to lead secret program to recreate the super soldier serum. For Bruce, this is the dream of his whole life, because once upon a time, with the help of the same serum, scientists created Captain America.

While working on a project, he does a lot important discoveries, but does not want to share them, fearing that his merits will not be recognized. Bruce - enough closed person preferring to work alone. Project scientists are strictly forbidden to conduct any experiments on themselves, but Banner ignores all warnings and secretly subjects himself to various experiments. During the latter, he turns into a terrible and huge green monster. In Hulk.

Any excitement or stress provokes an instant transformation of Banner into a green giant. Bruce loses control of his own mind and cannot be held accountable for his actions. As the Hulk, he has superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to regenerate. Thus, he tests his incredible powers for the first time by causing a nightmarish pogrom in New York. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. barely manage to pacify the raging giant. After this incident, Bruce is suspended from work to prevent him from making further mistakes. Now he constantly has to undergo blood tests and take special chemical drugs against sleep, because, according to him:

"If Bruce Banner falls asleep, the Hulk will wake up!" (Ultimates, vol. 1, #2)

After some time, Fury decides to restore Banner as one of the best specialists in his business, but on the condition that he controls himself (Ultimates, vol. 1, # 2). Bruce gets back to work, but he can't finish it. Even Captain America's unexpected return doesn't change anything. On top of everything else, his wife (Betty Ross) starts dating someone else. Banner is depressed. He feels like an outcast.

“Maybe someday someone will accept me for who I am?!” (Ultimates, vol. 2, #3)

Knowing that Fury has a special team of superheroes at his disposal (the Ultimates), Bruce decides to give them their first real threat... in the person of himself! He deliberately mixes Captain America's blood with his own and mutates into an even more terrifying gray Hulk. The thug is looking for Betty, destroying everything in his path. Fury realizes that Bruce has become too dangerous. He must be stopped immediately before he destroys all of New York. Nick calls on the Ultimates to calm the Hulk down. During a fierce battle, they defeat the gray Brutus with great difficulty. Unfortunately, there are some losses: half the city is destroyed, about 800 people die (Ultimates, vol. 1, # 4-5).

To avoid trouble, Fury hides the Hulk's identity from the public and places Bruce in a special cell, which is located in a highly guarded prison at the Ultimates headquarters and S.H.I.E.L.D. - Triskelion, to which he reacts violently:

“Are you out of your mind? This is ridiculous! I'm not going to spend the rest of my life in this cage!" (Ultimates, vol. 1, #7)

Bruce gets stuffed daily various medications to pacify dark side his personality. S.H.I.E.L.D. provides him with its laboratory, where he tries his best to cure himself, but to no avail.

“I work at least 18 hours a day trying to solve my problem!” (Ultimates, vol. 1, #9)

While he was imprisoned, the Earth was attacked by an alien race. Chitauri. The Ultimates and Fury realize that the odds are clearly unequal. They need the Hulk! Nick instructs his soldiers to provoke Banner.

“Are you even out of your mind?!” Do you even understand what you are doing?!” (Ultimates, vol. 1, #12)

The soldiers beat Bruce and, hoping to transform into the Hulk, throw him out of a military helicopter. The mission was successfully completed - the beast is free again! Once on the battlefield, the mighty titan helps the Ultimates smash the alien armada to pieces, but is immediately sent back to his cell (Ultimates, vol. 1, #10-13).

When a traitor turns up in the Ultimates, the whole truth about the Hulk quickly comes out. Many who were seriously injured during the incident in New York are now demanding justice for him. The court sentences Banner to death penalty. Seeing no other way out of this situation, the Ultimates drug Bruce with sleeping pills and, placing him on an abandoned aircraft carrier, drop him there nuclear bomb(Ultimates, vol. 2, #1-3).

Nevertheless, Bruce manages to escape just a few seconds before the explosion, once again turning into the Hulk. Once free, Banner decides to secretly travel around the world (India, Ireland and France), carefully hiding from the authorities. During his numerous travels, Bruce finally manages to find peace and tranquility within himself. Now he and the Hulk are one.

The Gray Golem returns to America just as Thor's treacherous brother Loki and his dark army attempt to take over New York. Despite all the recent trials in life, Hulk is determined to protect his country and support the Ultimates. Together they crush all enemies. (Ultimates, vol. 2, #11-13).

“In my entire life, I have never had such close friends, such people with whom I felt like one” (Ultimates, vol. 2, #3).

After this, Bruce goes on the run again.

Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, is considered by many to be one of the most powerful heroes on the planet. At least, that's what the Hulk himself thinks. Is it true or not - controversial issue, the important thing is that few people can measure their strength with the jade giant. At the start of his career in comics, it was clearly shown that the Hulk has practically no equal. Only heroes like Thor could challenge him. Over the years, the character has evolved and his power has grown. But, as often happens with popular characters, alternative versions of him appeared that were stronger or weaker than the original.

Zombie Hulk

One day, while the Hulk was going about his business, he was transformed into a destructive undead. The Marvel Zombies series begins with a zombie version of the Sentry crashing into the heart of New York City. The Avengers go to investigate but become infected. Once the transformation has been completed, Zombie Hulk becomes merciless. His power increases enormously after he and other zombie heroes kill the Silver Surfer and Galactus by devouring them and absorbing cosmic energy. Having received such power, Zombie Hulk and his allies practically destroy the rest of the intelligent universe.

Hulk Monkey

After the successful Marvel Zombies line, another strange series followed - Marvel Apes, in which all the characters were presented in the form of monkeys. Among them was the Hulk. It should be noted that the regular Hulk and the Monkey Hulk are not very different. Of course, he became more fluffy, but he was still the strongest monkey and destroyed everything around him when he was angry.

Maestro

Typically, the Hulk is shown to be misunderstood or an anti-hero. But the version of the Hulk known as Maestro is pure evil, without any positive qualities. In the miniseries Future Imperfect, from Peter David and George Perez, the Hulk travels to the future, where a crazed, older version of himself has taken over the world and killed all superheroes, proclaiming himself the Maestro. Years of exposure to radiation drove him crazy and angry new level, making him stronger than the Hulk has ever been. He easily beats the original Hulk and in Future Imperfect he has never faced a creature that can stop him. The Hulk was able to defeat the Maestro only by tricking him into Doctor Doom's time machine.

Hulk 2099

In the timeline in which Spider-Man 2099 exists, Marvel decided to introduce future versions of other popular characters. As a result, to put it mildly, strange story, John Eisenhart becomes Hulk 2099. Eisenhart was a business agent who was hired to obtain the rights to make a film about the Knights of Banner, a 20th century Hulk-worshipping organization. He learns that the Knights are planning to recreate the Green Giant to put an end to corporate rule. As a result, it turned out that John was exposed to a huge dose of gamma radiation and became a monster. Although he was very strong, he could control his anger, as a result of which his strength did not grow indefinitely. However, he possessed claws that were capable of cutting through most metals.

Hulk of the Old Man Logan Universe

In the comic book Old Man Logan, the world is in ruins. The Marvel Universe is darker than ever. In this universe, villains unite after realizing their common potential. They kill almost all superheroes. Among others, the Hulk remains alive. Although most of the survivors went into hiding, the Hulk did not. He went completely crazy and became a cold-blooded killer. Presumably, the villains decided to leave him alone and gave him California. He may be crazy, but he is stronger than ever, as even his human form now has power.

Hulk Aborigine

What happens if you deprive the Hulk of his anger? The result will be a relatively calm and good-natured character. Scarlet Witch creates new universe, called House of M, in which Magneto and other mutants control the world. In this world, after Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk, General Ross assumes that he is a mutant and a spy for Magneto. This sparks a fight between the Hulk and the army, which results in the former fleeing to Australia and joining a group of Aboriginal people. Hulk learns to appreciate the tribe's customs and vows to live the rest of his days in peace and harmony.

Hell Hulk

There are many scary versions of the Hulk, but one of the scariest is the Hell Hulk. Hell Hulk is proof that, despite the mutual dislike of Bruce Banner and the monster, it is better not to separate them. Incredible Hulks Annual #1 introduced an alternate reality where Bruce is the Sorcerer Supreme. Using magic, he separates the Hulk from himself and sends him to hell. Contrary to popular belief, sending a super-strong, angry monster to hell is not best idea. As a result, the green giant turns into the orange Hell Hulk and makes his way back to Earth. Driven by revenge, he has all his former powers and additionally possesses the abilities of a demon.

Hulk-Nerd

There was a time in the Ultimate universe when Bruce Banner, the original Hulk, could not be found. But the government still wanted a force they could control, so Gregory Stark, Tony Stark's brother, created a Hulk clone from Bruce Banner's DNA. This is how the Hulk-Nord appeared, who wore glasses, had Bruce's intelligence and incredible strength. But this combination robbed the Hulk of his rage, so his power was very limited. As a result, Hulk-Nerd was easily defeated by Captain America. Later, this version turned into a vampire and was beheaded by a magic hammer.

Hulk-Venom

What's worse than the Mad Hulk? Mad Hulk with the Venom symbiote, which, despite its strength, also has the abilities of a spider. In What If #4, "What If... An Alien Suit Possesses Spider-Man", in which Peter was unable to get rid of the symbiote and was absorbed by it. The Avengers and the Fantastic Four pursue him and the Hulk is the first to catch up with Spidey. Seeing the potential in the Hulk's power, the symbiote leaves Peter and transfers to the Green Giant. Thor tries to separate them, but is faced with the incredible strength of the Hulk-Venom.

Tyrone Cash

In Marvel's Ultimate Comics, Leonard Williams mentored young Bruce Banner. Together they worked on the super-soldier serum and when it was ready, Leonard tested it on himself and turned into a monster. Taking the name "Tyrone Cash", he learned to control his powers and became the first Hulk. Cash disappeared into the slums South America and built a criminal empire until he was eventually recruited by Nick Fury. While possessing incredible strength, Tyrone did not have the limitless potential of the original Hulk.

Hulk Captain Universe

Captain Universe is, rather, not a real character, but a physical embodiment of the Uni-Force. The owner of this power receives almost limitless power and becomes one of the strongest beings in the universe. In the Captain Universe comic: The Incredible Hulk, Hulk becomes possessed by the Uni-Force. Suffering from memory loss, Captain Universe contacts Bruce Banner to find scientist Gilbert Wheels. When they find him, events unfold that lead to the Hulk fighting several A.I.M. robots. During this battle, the power of Captain Universe awakens in him, and although he possessed it short time, during this period the Hulk was truly the strongest.

Skalk

In the '90s, Amalgam Comics released a series of comics that combined characters from the DC Comics and Marvel universes into new creatures. Many famous heroes and villains merged into unprecedented hybrids, one of which was Skulk. He was a combination of Solomon Grundy and the Hulk. This version of Bruce Banner led his own business and was testing a gamma bomb in the desert when Solomon Grundy appeared. Bruce tried to save the zombies, but the explosion of a gamma bomb united them, giving birth to Rock. Although, in the end, it was just Solomon Grundy in the Hulk's famous purple pants.

Klah

One of important points in the Hulk's personality is his connection with emotions. The monster's state depends on Bruce Banner's various feelings, but mainly reacts to anger. During the AXIS event, a reversal spell cast by Scarlet Witch causes many heroes and villains to become reverse versions of themselves. The spell also affects the Hulk, giving birth to Klah, who subsists on sadness rather than anger. An interesting aspect is that Klah is reverse side Hulk, not Banner. When the green giant became sad, he turned into an inverted version of himself, which was larger, scarier and stronger than the original.

Hulk Lizard

The Hulk is already incredibly powerful, but what if you want to make him even stronger? In this case, add a few genes from Spider-Man's enemy the Lizard and you get the Lizard Hulk. In the Spider-Island story, the Spider Queen rules Manhattan. She uses a mysterious virus to turn all New Yorkers into arachnids. But there is a small group of resistance fighters, led by Flash Thompson, who are preparing to fight back. They rewrite the DNA of the infected heroes, removing them from the Queen's control and transforming them into new forms. This turns Spider-Hulk into Lizard Hulk.

The imagination of the authors of the Marvel universe knows no bounds. Comic book readers were convinced of this in the early 60s - another character with an incredible destiny and abilities appeared on the pages of magazines in drawings. The Hulk, far from being the secret alter ego of Dr. Banner, has bypassed many of the inhabitants of graphic novels. According to IGN, the humanoid creature ranks 9th on the list of the hundred most recognizable heroes.

Story

Compared to many Marvel comic book heroes, the Hulk is a newcomer: he was introduced into graphic novels by artist and writer Jack Kirby in 1962. Over its almost 60-year history, the authors have changed, but the general motifs have been preserved. The character had a social meaning; it was a fantasy about experiments in nuclear science.

“As long as we experiment with radioactivity, there is no telling what might happen or how much our advances might cost us,” Kirby noted.

The Hulk's real name is Bruce Banner. This is a genius, a nuclear physicist, born into the family of a mentally unstable scientist Brian Banner, who was jealous of his wife and son. As a result, the father killed the mother and ended up in psychiatric hospital, and Bruce was taken in by his aunt.

The young man graduated from a scientific school, where he learned the basics of nuclear physics, and also has a doctorate from the California Institute in his collection of achievements. After his studies, Dr. Banner joined the military base USA and began creating a gamma bomb. One day, during a weapon test, he ran to save a teenager who happened to be at the test site. The bomb exploded, covering Bruce in a wave of radiation. At sunset that day, the doctor turned into the Hulk.

At first, the ability to take the form of a huge monster disappeared by dawn, but subsequently Bruce Banner began to transform into a humanoid creature with incredible strength at any time due to strong negative emotions– anger or fear. Unfortunately, the Hulk completely lacked the intellect of a brilliant scientist and was filled with anger.

Essentially, these are two separate personalities - the monster despised the weak and pathetic Bruce. In order to somehow maintain control over the alter ego, the scientist tried to irradiate himself with radiation. When I had to come to terms with the fact that the diagnosis “cannot be cured” and the Hulk will not simply disappear, I decided to use the image of the monster to protect people and the Earth.

The “werewolf” began to be pursued by the military from his very birth, and the Hulk had to hide, although the giant just wanted solitude.

Scientific progress does not stand still: Banner was separated from the Hulk more than once, but the “lonely” monster destroyed everything, so Bruce was in a hurry to reunite with him. In one of these cases, the Hulk turned out to be the main one in this dual alliance - the entity acquired intelligence. Later, Banner managed to become a person without an alter ego due to the fact that gamma radiation was removed from his body, although not for long. In the battle, the doctor again absorbed the dangerous radiation, and the Hulk returned.

The next attempts to separate the individuals were not crowned with success. Since the beginning of the new millennium, scriptwriters have united several personalities in a body, fighting for control of the mind. In the latest Marvel comics, released in 2016, the Hulk died at the hands of the superhero Hawkeye. But the monster was resurrected by black magic, revealing to the world an entity that now serves evil.

Thin and of average height, Dr. Banner turned into a huge, muscular Hulk, whose height reached 2.6 m. The original giant appeared before comic book readers in gray color, but due to the peculiarities of the seal, the hero later turned green.

The Hulk takes the place of one of the strongest creatures on the planet, strength depends on the degree of rage - the higher the level of anger, the more powerful the hero. He is able to hold a mountain and a neural star on his shoulders, and the waves from the impacts pierced several dimensions.

The Hulk's quick reactions are also admirable. Having become angry, the character gains hypersonic speed - the movements cannot be seen with the naked eye. The ability to jump is a separate issue. The Hulk has such pumped up leg muscles that he can easily jump five kilometers.

The giant's body is endowed with an inhuman degree of protection; ordinary weapons do not injure the skin and eyes, nuclear explosions They also do no damage. The character is afraid only of means of destruction created from special metals vibranium and adamantine. However, the resulting wounds heal immediately after they appear.

The Hulk easily adapts to his environment; for example, he physically felt great in outer space. Help the hero psychic abilities: he sees astral entities and inhabitants of other worlds.

A scantily clad Hulk in lilac pants defeats enemies with his bare hands. But the terrifying giant returns to his “native” body from time to time, and this is a completely different matter - Banner is not so durable and strong, so the doctor carries with him the necessary set of tools and weapons.

Genius uses mobile operating system, which opens any devices. Bruce’s protection and assistant is a shield made of gamma radiation, which allows him to walk on water, lift enormous weights, and thanks to the energy of the device, wounds on his body heal instantly.

The doctor navigates the area, armed with a scanner with “intelligence,” and moves in space using a teleport bag. A scientist has invented a matter of unstable molecules that does not break when he turns into the Hulk. Bill also always has a special suit with him that helps him survive in extreme conditions– breathe underwater, withstand temperatures and pressure.

Friends and enemies

Over the course of his existence on the pages of Marvel graphic novels, the Hulk has encountered almost all the heroes and villains. The character became a member of the founding group of the Avengers team. Together with Wasp and Ant-Man, he defeated the evil god. But he soon left the ranks of the organization, giving way to the position of leader. After this, the Avengers became enemies of the green mutant. However, sometimes the Hulk teamed up with the team, for example, against the X-Men.

Another team that adopted a humanoid is the Defenders. Its leader treated the Hulk with warmth and even allowed him to live in his house. The character was also friends with the Sentinel, who is able to pacify his friend. And Bruce Banner's heart belonged to Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thaddeus the Thunderer.

Hulk fought against those who attempted to destroy Earth alien creatures, with Chinese and Russian villains, prevented an invasion of the planet by toad people, and confronted the ruler of the underworld.

Movies

Hulk in leading role appeared on television in 1977 and held the attention of viewers for five years. The success of the continuation of the tape was repeated in 1988 - the series stayed on the silver screen for two years. The dual nature was played by Bill Bixby (Bruce Banner) and Lou Ferrigno (Hulk).

Children also fell in love with the green mutant - artists included him in a dozen full-length cartoons:

  • 2006 – “Ultimate Avengers”
  • 2006 – “Ultimate Avengers 2”
  • 2008 – “New Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow”
  • 2009 – “Hulk vs. Wolverine”

  • 2016 – “Hulk: Where the Wild Things Are”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has created six films in which the Hulk either stars or takes a supporting role.

Always and everywhere green Hulk was considered the strongest, most resilient and, of course, invincible. But how to answer the question, who is the strongest of the characters, if another superhero has appeared in the film industry - the Red Hulk? And in order to find out who is the strongest character, you need to get to know them both better.

The Story of the Green Hulk

The Hulk is a superhero from Marvel comics. Its creators are Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. Thus, the hero of the animated and feature films already 54 years old. Hulk is Bruce Banner, physicist. As a result of one of the experiments, an explosion occurred and the physicist received strong gamma ray radiation.

As a result of this, an ordinary person gained the ability to turn into a superhero. Very often the Hulk has to hide from the police, who are looking for him for the destruction he caused, but the superhero always manages to get out of even the most difficult situations. For 54 years, the Hulk fought every superhero in the Marvel comics and remained invincible.

Green Hulk's superpowers

Since the Green Hulk is the most powerful Marvel character, it's worth paying attention to his abilities. What if there is still a stronger character?

The first thing you should pay attention to is the Hulk's superpower, which increases in geometric progression depending on the level of his anger. Moreover, the harder a character is hit, the more strength he receives, which gives reason to call him stronger than Thor or even Hercules.

It is also surprising that the Hulk has the ability to self-heal, so any damage inflicted on him only becomes a reason for the Hulk’s anger. The character has incredible speed, despite his huge legs. According to the authors' idea, this character can move faster than the speed of sound. No less fascinating is his ability to jump. As you know, the Hulk was able to jump over the orbit of the Earth.

This character has the ability to live without air, and is absolutely not susceptible to magic or other supernatural actions. If they try to influence the Hulk with the help of evil dark forces- he feeds on this energy, and his power becomes even greater.

Also, if a part of the Hulk’s body is cut off, it will certainly grow back or regenerate. The character is endowed with incredible strength and resistance to any external factor, in addition, we can safely say that it can be reborn from molecules.

Can anyone really defeat him with such superpower?

Who is the Red Hulk?

No matter how strange and surprising it may sound, the green Hulk has a strong rival - the red Hulk. Initially, before receiving superpower, he was a simple man who was very interested in the art of war. He was a descendant of the military, so being in this area was his life’s work. Starting from the bottom and becoming a general, Ross received the title "Thunderbolt". During the gamma radiation, Ross was exposed to a beam that contained cathexis with the green Hulk's genes.

And as a result, his prototype appears before the fans of the green Hulk - the red Hulk. But, unlike the first, the second Hulk also has military training. Strategic thinking and irresistible desire To restore order in the country leads to an obligatory fight with the green Hulk, who constantly violates this order.

So red Hulk vs. green is an exciting story.

How did the Hulks meet?

General Ross was at the laboratory station where gamma radiation was being studied. Bruce Bennett was appointed head of this project. General Ross could not come to terms with the fact that an ordinary resident was appointed commander, and he, the general, was appointed a subordinate.

After some time, Ross began to suspect that Bennett and the Hulk were the same person. Moreover, his hatred of the green Hulk was also fueled by the feelings of his only daughter, Betty, for the physicist. Therefore, Ross did everything to find confirmation of the connection between the Hulk and the physicist and reveal this deception. He hoped that when everything was revealed, his daughter would stop loving this monster. Therefore, Ross has always been at the head of those who are looking for the Hulk to kill him.

So who is stronger?

Red Hulk and Green Hulk have almost the same abilities. They are both incredibly strong, fast characters. In addition, both have the ability to regenerate, which makes their fight more exciting. While Hulk Red has heat radiation, Green has Guiding Senses and resistance to telepathic effects.

The only thing serious difference between the green Hulk and the red one is that the second one has military training, which helps him in many ways. The fight between the red and green Hulk very often leads to the fact that one of them is defeated for a while. So, in one of the episodes, the red Hulk attacks the green one, breaks his arm and throws him into the river. But all viewers know that the green Hulk will definitely get out and fight back, since he has the ability to live without air and can easily survive being in water.

In addition, the green Hulk initially had to independently learn to maintain the thinking and intelligence of Bruce Bennett when turning into the Hulk. And the Red Hulk originally had this ability. But this does not give reason to immediately award victory to General Ross.

Hulks on screen

When Hulk was in singular- there were films and cartoons about him that attracted people to the screens. Now fans of this character will be able to watch the cartoon “Red Hulk vs. Green,” which is full of confrontation between both characters. Most main question all spectators wonder who is stronger. The cartoon is filled with many bright pictures in which both heroes show their strength and desire to become the strongest on the planet, because the two of them are cramped on Earth.

The red Hulk will fight against the green Hulk more than once. The cartoon will still show the viewer who is stronger, so all fans of films about the Marvel universe will be able to cheer for their favorite hero. And it will be an unforgettable sight.

Red Hulk is a new character, and he introduced another obstacle into the life of the green Hulk, which not only develops the plot, but also fuels the interest of the audience. The Hulk could always defeat any character, but now he will have to defeat himself. Will he be able to survive this fight?

The Strongest Hero on Earth

Banner had a hard time as a child, and it had a big impact on his psyche. The cruel father constantly called the boy a monster and beat his mother. As a result, Bruce developed a split personality, and all the negativity accumulated in a separate part of his consciousness. Once, during a quarrel, Banner Sr. accidentally killed his wife, and since then Bruce lived not at home, but sometimes with some relatives, sometimes with other relatives. Over the years, his intellect developed more and more, the boy gradually turned into a real genius.

Bruce had a difficult childhood, his father often beat him and the boy's mother.

FIRST LOVE

Growing up, Banner became a prominent scientist and was recruited by the US Army to help Bruce develop new weapons for it. He was sent under the command of General Thaddeus Ross, nicknamed the Thunderer. Having met Thaddeus's daughter Betty, Banner realized that he had found a kindred spirit, and a romantic attraction arose between him and the girl.

GAMMA BOMB

Bruce soon developed a design for a gamma bomb, a device that would hit targets with radiation. On the day of the test, teenager Rick Jones accidentally walked onto the site where the experiment was taking place, having no idea about the danger that threatened him. Bruce barely managed to save the boy at the very last moment before the bomb exploded.

Working for the government, Banner created new weapons systems under the leadership of General Ross.

But he had to pay a high price for this: While trying to save Rick Jones, Bruce was exposed to radiation. Banner himself had been exposed to radiation, and every cell in his body was now poisoned by radiation.

The Hulk first appears in comics and has gray skin.

At first, Banner became the Hulk every day at sunset; and when dawn broke, he again turned into a peaceful scientist. Later, Bruce tried to learn to control these transformations with the help of a special gamma device, but this led to an unpredictable result: now he began to transform into a giant when he was angry or upset. He existed throughout more hypostases, with each personality representing one of the fragments of Bruce’s damaged consciousness. Green Hapk was equal in intelligence to a child, Gray turned out to be more educated, but less strong. In addition, the ambitious genius Professor Hulk and even the Devil Hulk appeared, embodying all the accumulated evil in the scientist’s soul.

DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES:1. Bruce Banner 2. Savage Hulk 3. Joe Fixit 4. Mad Hulk 5. Professor Hulk

General Riker unleashed gamma dogs on the Hulk.

Army scientists could not understand what happened to Bruce. He felt completely normal, but it was soon discovered that during attacks of anger, Banner now turns into a huge green monster called the Hulk!

The Hulk has incredible physical strength that knows no limits. The angrier he is, the stronger. With one jump, the Hulk can cover a distance of several kilometers, and his body instantly heals from any injuries.

For a long time, Bruce tried to find a cure for transformations and get rid of the giant's appearances. At first he managed to hide this from others, despite the fact that the military learned about the existence of the Hulk. But eventually the world learned the truth, and Banner became a recluse trying to protect people from the threat lurking within him.

THE MIND OF A CHILD

Over time, the Hulk changed a lot. At first he considered all people pitiful and insignificant. But then his consciousness became more childish and naive. The giant didn't understand why people were chasing him, he just wanted everyone to leave him alone. Eventually, psychiatrist Dr. Samson figured out what was happening: each of the Hulk's personalities was part of Banner's split consciousness.
For some time, the doctor even managed to restore him, creating the Hulk with the intelligence of Bruce, but the patient did not remain in this state for long. For many years, the Hulk has proven that he is not only a destroyer, but also a force for good. The giant was one of the original members of the Avengers team, although he often quarreled with the heroes. In addition, the green giant more than once saved our planet from enemies together with a detachment of Defenders. But most of the time he prefers to remain alone so as not to cause pain and suffering to anyone.

NIGHTMARE ISLAND

One day, the Hulk found himself on a strange island and met two outcasts there - a girl named Gwen and her blind boyfriend Ripley. Having fought with a huge amount monsters and even his own gray double, the giant realized that he was in the land of the Nightmare, the lord of dreams. The villain told the Hulk that he created this island as his last stronghold in the world of the living after the attack on America on September 11th. Then the horror and pain of many people gave him strength, and Nightmare created the island from nothingness, populating it with the alien Crazy. When one of them in the guise almost killed Gwen, to the girl, as often happens after severe stress, memory returned. It turned out that she is the daughter of Nightmare and Betty Banner. Upon learning this, the enraged Hulk tore off the villain's head and rode off on his horse.

One day the giant found himself on a strange island, where he had to fight with himself. Nightmare tried to influence the Hulk. but in the end he paid brutally with his own head.

PLANET HULK

Soon the Hulk settled in Alaska, far from all humanity. His loneliness did not last long: Banner was found and asked to help “” neutralize a deadly satellite located in Earth orbit. He agreed, but after completing the mission, the ship was launched into the depths of space directly with the Hulk on board. This was the work of the "" organization, which decided to get rid of Bruce.

On the planet Sakaar, the giant fought for his life every minute.

As a result, he ended up on the planet Sakaar - wild world, inhabited by many extraterrestrial races. The Hulk was captured and sold into slavery, forced to serve his new masters. Forced to become a gladiator in the arena of the Red King of Sakaar, the Hulk befriended other warriors and created the "Brotherhood of Battle" - a team of the most powerful warriors on the planet and its environs. As a result, he defeated the King in a fair fight. One day, people saw the Hulk's blood spilled onto the ground, and a flower bloomed in that place. They immediately believed that the giant was the hero of the legendary prophecy about the son of Sakaar, who would lead the slaves to victory. As a result, the Hulk rebelled against the Red King, took his throne and married his colleague. He finally found peace of mind and even began to improve the lives of the Sakaarans, but soon the ship on which the Hulk arrived on the planet exploded and killed millions of people, including Caiera.

HULK'S FAMILY

After the hero returned to Earth (see article), a new Red Hulk appeared (who was actually General Ross), and then Skaar, the son of Caiera and the green giant, arrived from Sakaar, dreaming of finding and defeating his father. Soon, Red Hulk absorbed all of Banner's gamma energy, and he stopped turning into a giant.
In addition, Bruce made peace with Skaar and decided to train him in case the monster took over his mind again. Banner later decided to save his ex-wife from the villains Leader and MODOK. He learned that they turned her into Red She-Hulk. To free her, Bruce had to be exposed to a new dose of radiation and again become a powerful green giant. The Hulk then turned to Banner to separate his and Banner's identities by removing the giant's brain and transplanting it into a clone body. But in the end, Bruce figured out how to return everything to its place. Soon the Hulk rejoined and began working for the S.H.I.E.L.D.
