Life after death is scientific. Afterlife: what awaits us after death

One of the most disturbing questions in people’s minds is “is there something there after death or not?” Many religions have been created, each revealing in its own way the secrets of the afterlife. Libraries of books have been written on the topic of life after death.. And, in the end, billions of souls who were once inhabitants of the mortal earth have already gone there, into an unknown reality and distant oblivion. And they are aware of all the secrets, but they won’t tell us. There is a huge gap between the world of the dead and the living . But this is provided that the world of the dead exists.

Various religious teachings, each of which interprets in its own way the further path of a person after leaving the body, generally support the version that there is a soul and it is immortal. Exceptions are the religious movements of Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses; they adhere to the version of the perishability of the soul. And the afterlife, Hell and Heaven, the quintessence of variations of after-life existence, according to most religions, for true worshipers of God will be presented in significantly at its best than that, that is, on earth. Belief in something superior after death, in the highest justice, in the eternal continuation of life is the basis of many religious worldviews.

And although scientists and atheists claim that a person hopes, because it is inherent in his nature at the genetic level, they say, “ he just needs to believe in something, and preferably global, with a saving mission ”, - this does not become an “antidote” to craving for religions. Even if we take into account the genetic craving for God, where did it come from in pure consciousness?

The soul and where it is located

Soul- This is an immortal substance, not tangible and not measured using material standards. Something connecting spirit and body, individual, identifying a person as a person. There are many people who are similar in appearance, twin brothers and sisters are simply copies of each other, and there are also plenty of “doubles” who are not related by blood. But these people will always differ in their inner spiritual filling, and this concerns not the level, quality and scale of thoughts and desires, but above all the abilities, facets, characteristics, and potential of the individual. The soul is something that accompanies us on earth, reviving the mortal shell.

Most people are sure that the soul is located in the heart, or somewhere in the area solar plexus, there are opinions that it is in the head, the brain. Scientists, in the course of a number of experiments, have established that when animals are electrocuted at a meat processing plant, a certain ethereal substance comes out at the moment of death from the upper part of the head (skull). The soul was measured: during experiments carried out at the beginning of the 20th century by the American physician Duncan McDougall, it was established soul weight - 21 grams . Six patients lost approximately this much weight at the time of death, which the doctor was able to record using ultra-sensitive bed scales on which the dying people lay. However, later experiments carried out by other doctors established that a person loses similar body weight when falling into sleep.

Is death just a long (eternal) sleep?

The Bible says the soul is in the blood. During the Old Testament, and even to this day, Christians were forbidden to drink or eat processed animal blood.

“For the life of every body is its blood, it is the soul of it; Therefore I said to the children of Israel, “You shall not eat the blood of any body, for the life of every body is its blood; whoever eats it will be cut off.” (Old Testament, Leviticus 17:14)

“...and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food. And it became so" (Genesis 1:30)

That is, living creatures have a soul, but they are deprived of the ability to think, make decisions, they lack a highly organized mental activity. If any soul is immortal, then animals will also be in spiritual embodiment in the afterlife. However, in the same Old Testament it is said that previously all animals simply ceased to exist after physical death, without any other continuation. The main goal of their life was stated: to be eaten; born to be “captured and exterminated.” The immortality of the human soul was also questioned.

“I spoke in my heart about the sons of men, so that God would test them, and so that they would see that they are animals in themselves; because the fate of the sons of men and the fate of animals is the same fate: as they die, so these die, and everyone has the same breath, and man has no advantage over cattle, because everything is vanity! Everything goes to one place: everything came from dust and everything will return to dust. Who knows whether the spirit of the sons of men ascends upward, and whether the spirit of animals descends down to the earth?” (Ecclesiastes 3:18-21)

But the hope for Christians is that little animals in one of their incorruptible forms remain, because in the New Testament, in particular in the Revelation of John the Theologian, there are lines that there will be many animals in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The New Testament says that accepting Christ's sacrifice gives life to all people who desire salvation. Those who do not accept this, according to the Bible, do not have Eternal Life. Whether this means that they will go to Hell or that they will hang somewhere in a state of “spiritually disabled” is unknown. In Buddhist teachings, reincarnation implies that the soul that previously belonged to a person, accompanying him, can next life inhabit an animal. And man himself in Buddhism takes a dual position, that is, he does not seem to be “pressed” as in Christianity, but he is not the Crown of Creation, the lord over all living things.

And it is located somewhere between the lower entities, “demons” and other evil spirits and the highest, enlightened Buddhas. His path and subsequent reincarnation depend on the degree of enlightenment in today's life. Astrologers talk about the existence of seven human bodies, not just soul, spirit and body. Ethereal, astral, mental, causal, budhial, atmanic and, of course, physical. According to esotericists, six bodies are part of the soul, while according to some esotericists, they accompany the soul on earthly paths.

There are many teachings, treatises and doctrines that in their own way interpret the essence of being, life and death. And, of course, not all are true; truth, as they say, is one. It’s easy to get lost in the wilds of someone else’s worldview; it’s important to stick to the position you’ve once chosen. Because if everything was simple and we knew the answer that there, at the other end of life, there would not be so many guesses, and as a result, global versions that are radically different from each other.

Christianity distinguishes the spirit, soul and body of man:

“In His hand is the soul of every living thing and the spirit of all human flesh.” (Job 12:10)

Moreover, there is no doubt that spirit and soul are different phenomena, but what is their difference? Does the spirit (its presence is also mentioned in animals) go after death to another world or the soul? And if the spirit leaves, what happens to the soul?

Termination of life and clinical death

Doctors distinguish biological, clinical and final death. Biological death implies cessation of cardiac activity, respiration, blood circulation, depression with subsequent cessation of central reflexes nervous system. Final - all of the listed signs of biological death, including brain death. Clinical death precedes biological death and is a reversible transitional state from life to death.

After stopping breathing and heartbeat, when carrying out resuscitation measures, bringing a person back to life without serious damage to health is possible only in the first few minutes: up to a maximum of 5 minutes, more often within 2-3 minutes after the pulse stops.

Cases of safe return even after 10 minutes of clinical death have been described. Resuscitation is carried out within 30 minutes after cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest or loss of consciousness in the absence of circumstances that make resuming life impossible. Sometimes 3 minutes are enough for the development of irreversible changes in the brain. In cases of death of a person in conditions of low temperature, when metabolism is slowed down, the interval of a successful “return” to life increases and can reach 2 hours after cardiac arrest. Despite the strong opinion based on medical practice that after 8 minutes without a heartbeat or breathing, the patient is unlikely to be brought back to life without serious consequences for his health in the future, hearts begin to beat, people come to life. And they face further life without serious violations functions and systems of the body. Sometimes the 31st minute of resuscitation is decisive. However, most people who have experienced long-term clinical death, rarely return to their previous fullness of existence, some go into a vegetative state.

There have been cases where doctors mistakenly recorded biological death, and the patient later came to, frightening the morgue workers more than all the horror films they had ever watched. Lethargic dreams, decreased functions of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems while suppressing consciousness and reflexes, but preserving life is a reality, and it is possible to confuse an imaginary death with a true one.

And yet here is a paradox: if the soul is in the blood, as the Bible says, then where is it in a person who is in a vegetative state or in an “exorbitant coma”? Who is artificially kept alive with the help of machines, but doctors have long since established irreversible changes in the brain or brain death? At the same time, denying the fact that when blood circulation stops, life stops is absurd.

See God and not die

So what did they, people who experienced clinical death, see? There is plenty of evidence. Someone says that Hell and Heaven appeared before him in colors, someone saw angels, demons, dead relatives, and communicated with them. Someone traveled, flying like a bird, all over the earth, feeling neither hunger, nor pain, nor the same self. Another person sees his whole life flashing by in pictures in a moment; another sees himself and the doctors from the outside.

But in most descriptions there is the famous mysterious and deadly image of light at the end of the tunnel. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is explained by several theories. According to psychologist Pyall Watson, this is a prototype of passing through birth canal, a person at the time of death remembers his birth. According to Russian resuscitator Nikolai Gubin - manifestations of toxic psychosis.

In an experiment conducted by American scientists with laboratory mice, it was found that animals, when experiencing clinical death, see the same tunnel with light at the end. And the reason is much more banal than the approach of the afterlife illuminating the darkness. In the first minutes after the heartbeat and breathing stop, the brain produces powerful impulses, which are received by the dying as the image described above. Moreover, brain activity in these very moments is incredibly high, which contributes to the appearance of vivid visions and hallucinations.

The appearance of pictures from the past is due to the fact that new brain structures begin to fade first, then old ones; when brain activity resumes, the process occurs in the reverse order: first, old, then new areas of the cerebral cortex begin to function. What causes the most significant pictures of the past, then the present, to “emerge” in the emerging consciousness. I don’t want to believe that everything is so simple, right? I really want everything to be entangled in mysticism, implicated in the most bizarre assumptions, shown in bright colors, with feelings, spectacles, and tricks.

The consciousness of many people refuses to believe in an ordinary death without mystery, without continuation . And is it really possible to agree that one day you will no longer exist at all? And there will be no eternity, or at least any continuation... When you look inside yourself, sometimes the worst thing is to feel the hopelessness of the situation, the finitude of existence, the unknown, not knowing what’s next and walking into the abyss blindfolded.

“So many of them have fallen into this abyss, I'll open it up in the distance! The day will come when I too will disappear From the surface of the earth. Everything that sang and fought will freeze, It shone and burst. And the green of my eyes and my gentle voice, And gold hair. And there will be life with its daily bread, With the forgetfulness of the day. And everything will be as if under the sky And I wasn’t there!” M. Tsvetaeva “Monologue”

The lyrics can be endless, since death is the biggest mystery, everyone who, no matter how they avoid thinking about this topic, will have to experience everything firsthand. If the picture were unambiguous, obvious and transparent, we would long ago have been convinced by thousands of discoveries by scientists, stunning results obtained from experiments, versions of various teachings about the absolute mortality of the body and soul. But no one has been able to establish and prove with absolute accuracy what awaits us at the other end of life. Christians are waiting for Paradise, Buddhists are waiting for reincarnation, esotericists are waiting for flight to the astral plane, tourists are continuing their travels, etc.

But recognizing the existence of God is reasonable, since many who during their lifetime denied the highest justice in the Next World often repent of their ardor before death. They remember the One who was so often deprived of a place in their spiritual temple.

Have survivors of clinical death seen God? If you have ever heard or will hear that someone in a state of clinical death saw God, strongly doubt it.

First, God will not meet you at the “gate”, he is not a doorman... Everyone will appear before the judgment of God already during the Apocalypse, that is, for the majority - after the stage rigor mortis. By that time, it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to return and talk about that Light. “Seeing God” is not an adventure for the faint of heart. In the Old Testament (in Deuteronomy) there are words that no one has yet seen God and remained alive. God spoke to Moses and the people at Horeb from the midst of the fire, without revealing an image, and even to God in a hidden form people were afraid to come close.

The Bible also states that God is spirit, and spirit is immaterial, therefore, we cannot see him as each other. Although the miracles performed by Christ during His stay on earth in the flesh spoke of the opposite: one can return to the world of the living already during or after the funeral. Let us remember the resurrected Lazarus, who was revived on the 4th day, when it had already begun to stink. And his testimony about another world. But Christianity is more than 2000 years old; during this time, have there been many people (not counting believers) who read the lines about Lazarus in the New Testament and believed in God based on this? Likewise, thousands of testimonies and miracles for those who are convinced in advance of the opposite may be meaningless and in vain.

Sometimes you have to see it for yourself to believe it. But even personal experience tends to be forgotten. There is a moment of replacing the actual with the desired, of excessive impressionability - when people really want to see something, during life they often and a lot picture it in their minds, and during and after clinical death they complete their impressions based on sensations. According to statistics, the majority of people who saw something grandiose after cardiac arrest, Hell, Heaven, God, demons, etc. - were mentally unstable. Resuscitation doctors, who have observed clinical death situations more than once and saved people, say that in the overwhelming majority of cases the patients saw nothing.

It so happened that the author of these lines once visited the Other World. I was 18 years old. Relatively easy surgery turned into almost real death due to an overdose of anesthesia by doctors. There is light at the end of the tunnel, a tunnel that looks like an endless hospital corridor. Just a couple of days before I ended up in the hospital, I was thinking about death. I thought that a person should have movement, have a development goal, in the end, family, children, career, study, and all this should be loved by him. But somehow there was so much “depression” around at that moment that it seemed to me that everything was in vain, life was meaningless, and maybe it would be nice to leave before this “torment” had yet begun. to the fullest. I don't mean suicidal thoughts, but rather fear of the unknown and the future. Difficult family circumstances, work and study.

And now the flight into oblivion. After this tunnel - and after the tunnel I just saw a girl, a doctor looking into whose face, covering her with a blanket, putting a tag on her toe - I heard a question. And this question is perhaps the only thing that I could not find an explanation for, where it came from, who asked it. “I wanted to leave. Will you go?” And it’s as if I’m listening, but I don’t hear anyone, neither the voice, nor what’s happening around me, I’m shocked that death exists. The entire period while she observed everything and then, after returning consciousness, repeated the same question, her own, “So, death is a reality? Can I die? Am I dead? And now I will see God?”

At first I saw myself from the doctors’ side, but not in exact forms, but blurred and chaotic, mixed with other images. I didn’t understand at all that they were saving me. The more manipulations they performed, the more it seemed to me that they were saving someone else. I heard the names of medications, doctors talking, screams, and, as if yawning lazily, I decided to also cheer up the person being rescued, and began to say in unison with the alarmists, “Breathe, open your eyes. Come to your senses, etc.” I was sincerely worried about him. I spun around the entire crowd, then it was as if I saw everything that would happen next: a tunnel, a morgue with a tag, some orderlies weighing my sins on Soviet scales...

I become some kind of small grain of rice (these are the associations that arise in my memories). There are no thoughts, only sensations, and my name was not at all like my mother and father’s name, the name was generally a temporary earthly number. And it seemed that I had been alive for only a thousandth of the eternity into which I was going. But I didn’t feel like a person, some small substance, I don’t know, a spirit or a soul, I understand everything, but I just can’t react. I don’t understand it like before, but I am aware of the new reality, but I can’t get used to it, I felt very uneasy. My life seemed like a spark that burned for a second, then went out quickly and imperceptibly.

There was a feeling that there was an exam ahead (not a trial, but some kind of selection), for which I had not prepared, but I would not be presented with anything serious, I had not done any evil or good to the extent that it was worth it. But it’s as if she’s frozen in the moment of death, and it’s impossible to change anything, to somehow influence fate. There was no pain or regrets, but I was haunted by a feeling of discomfort and confusion about how I, so small, the size of a grain, would live. Without thoughts, there were none, everything was at the level of feelings. After being in a room (as I understand it, a morgue), where I stayed for a long time near a body with a tag on my finger and could not leave this place, I begin to look for a way out, because I want to fly further, it’s boring here and I’m not here anymore. I fly through the window and fly towards the light, with speed, suddenly there is a flash, akin to an explosion. Everything is very bright. Apparently at this moment the return begins.

A period of silence and emptiness, and again a room with doctors, manipulating me, but as if with someone else. The last thing I remember is incredible severe pain and the pain in the eyes from the fact that they shine a lantern. And the pain in my whole body is hellish, I again wet myself with earthly, and somehow wrongly, it seems that I stuffed my legs into my hands. I felt like I was a cow, square, made of plasticine, I really didn’t want to go back, but they pushed me in. I’ve almost come to terms with the fact that I left, but now I have to go back again. I got in. It still hurt for a long time, I began to go hysterical from what I saw, but I couldn’t speak or even explain the reason for the roar to anyone. During the rest of my life, I endured anesthesia again for several hours, everything was quite well, except for the chills after. There were no visions. A decade has passed since my “flight”, and a lot, of course, has happened in life since then. And I quite rarely told anyone about that long-ago event, but when I did share, most of those listening were very concerned about the answer to the question “did I see God or not?” And although I repeated a hundred times that I did not see God, they sometimes asked me again and with a twist: “What about Hell or Heaven?” I haven't seen... This does not mean that they are not there, it means that I have not seen them.

Let's return to the article, or rather finish it. By the way, the story “Sliver” by V. Zazubrin, which I read after my clinical death, left a serious imprint on my attitude towards life in general. Maybe the story is depressing, too realistic and bloody, but that’s exactly what it seemed to me: life is a sliver...

But through all the revolutions, executions, wars, deaths, illnesses, we saw something that is eternal: soul. And it’s not scary to end up in the other world, it’s scary to end up and not be able to change anything, while realizing that you failed the test. But life is definitely worth living, at least to pass exams...

What are you living for?..

The question of what will happen after death has interested humanity since ancient times - from the very moment thoughts about the meaning of one’s own individuality appeared. Will consciousness and personality be preserved after the death of the physical shell? Where does the soul go after death? scientific facts and the statements of believers equally firmly prove and disprove the possibility of an afterlife, immortality, the evidence of eyewitnesses and scientists equally converges and contradicts each other.

Evidence for the existence of the soul after death

Humanity has been striving to prove the presence of a soul (anima, atman, etc.) since the eras of the Sumerian-Akkadian and Egyptian civilizations. In fact, all religious teachings are based on the fact that a person consists of two essences: material and spiritual. The second component is immortal, the basis of personality, and will exist after the death of the physical shell. What scientists say about life after death does not contradict most theologians’ theses about the existence of the afterlife, since science originally emerged from monasteries, when monks were collectors of knowledge.

After the scientific revolution in Europe, many practitioners tried to isolate and prove the existence of the soul in the material world. At the same time, Western European philosophy defined self-awareness (self-determination) as the source of a person, his creative and emotional urges, and the stimulus for reflection. Against this background, the question arises - what will happen to the spirit that forms the personality after the destruction of the physical body.

Before the development of physics and chemistry, evidence for the existence of the soul was based exclusively on philosophical and theological works (Aristotle, Plato, canonical religious works). In the Middle Ages, alchemy tried to isolate the anima not only of humans, but also of any elements, flora and fauna. Modern science about life after death and medicine are trying to record the presence of a soul based on the personal experience of eyewitnesses who have experienced clinical death, medical data and changes in the condition of patients at various points in their lives.

In Christianity

Christian Church(in her recognized by the world directions) refers to human life as a preparatory stage of afterlife. This doesn't mean that material world doesn't matter. On the contrary, the main thing that a Christian faces in life is to live in such a way that he can subsequently go to heaven and find eternal bliss. Evidence of the presence of a soul is not required for any religion; this thesis is the basis for religious consciousness, without it it makes no sense. Confirmation of the existence of the soul for Christianity can indirectly come from the personal experience of believers.

The soul of a Christian, if you believe the dogmas, is a part of God, but capable of independently making decisions, creating and creating. Therefore, there is the concept of posthumous punishment or reward, depending on how a person treated the fulfillment of the commandments during material existence. In fact, after death, two key states are possible (and an intermediate one - only for Catholicism):

  • paradise is a state of highest bliss, being close to the Creator;
  • hell - punishment for an unrighteous and sinful life that contradicted the commandments of faith, a place eternal torment;
  • purgatory is a place that is present only in the Catholic paradigm. The abode of those who die in peace with God, but need additional cleansing from unredeemed sins during life.

In Islam

Second world religion, Islam, according to its dogmatic foundations (the principle of the universe, the presence of a soul, posthumous existence) is not fundamentally different from Christian postulates. The presence of a particle of the Creator inside a person is determined in the suras of the Koran and the religious works of Islamic theologians. A Muslim must live decently and keep the commandments in order to go to heaven. In contrast to the Christian dogma of Last Judgment, where the judge is the Lord, Allah does not take part in determining where the soul will go after death (two angels judge - Nakir and Munkar).

In Buddhism and Hinduism

In Buddhism (in the European sense) there are two concepts: atman (spiritual essence, higher self) and anatman (the absence of an independent personality and soul). The first refers to out-of-body categories, and the second to the illusions of the material world. Therefore, there is no precise definition of which specific part goes to nirvana (Buddhist paradise) and dissolves in it. One thing is certain: after the final immersion in the afterlife, everyone’s consciousness, from the point of view of Buddhists, merges into the common Self.

Human life in Hinduism, as the bard Vladimir Vysotsky accurately noted, is a series of migrations. The soul or consciousness is not placed in heaven or hell, but depending on the righteousness of earthly life, it is reborn into another person, animal, plant or even stone. From this point of view, there is much more evidence of post-mortem experience, because there is a sufficient amount of recorded evidence when a person completely told his previous life (considering that he could not know about it).

In ancient religions

Judaism has not yet defined its attitude to the very essence of the soul (neshamah). In this religion there is huge amount directions and traditions that may contradict each other even in basic principles. Thus, the Sadducees are sure that Neshama is mortal and perishes along with the body, while the Pharisees considered it immortal. Some movements of Judaism are based on accepted Ancient Egypt the thesis that the soul must go through a cycle of rebirths to achieve perfection.

In fact, every religion is based on the fact that the purpose of earthly life is the return of the soul to its creator. The belief of believers in the existence of an afterlife is based for the most part on faith, rather than on evidence. But there is no evidence to refute the existence of the soul.

Death from a scientific point of view

The most accurate definition of death, which is accepted among the scientific community, is irreversible loss. vital functions. Clinical death means short stop breathing, blood circulation and brain activity, after which the patient returns to life. The number of definitions of the end of life even among modern medicine and philosophy exceeds two dozen. This process or fact remains as much a mystery as the fact of the presence or absence of a soul.

Evidence of life after death

“There are many things in the world, friend Horace, that our sages never dreamed of” - this Shakespearean quote with a great degree of accuracy reflects the attitude of scientists towards the unknowable. After all, just because we don’t know about something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Finding evidence of the existence of life after death is an attempt to confirm the existence of a soul. Materialists claim that the whole world consists of only particles, but the presence of an energetic entity, substance or field that creates a person does not contradict classical science due to lack of evidence (for example, the Higgs boson, a recently discovered particle, was considered fiction).

Testimonies of people

In these cases, the stories of people are considered reliable, which are confirmed by an independent commission of psychiatrists, psychologists and theologians. Conventionally, they are divided into two categories: memories of past lives and stories of survivors of clinical death. The first case is the experiment of Ian Stevenson, who established about 2000 facts of reincarnation (under hypnosis, the test subject cannot lie, and many of the facts indicated by patients were confirmed by historical data).

Descriptions of the state of clinical death are often explained by oxygen starvation, which the human brain experiences at this time, and are treated with a considerable degree of skepticism. However, strikingly identical stories that have been recorded for more than one decade may indicate that it is impossible to exclude the fact that some entity (soul) emerged from material body at the time of his death. It is worth mentioning a large number of descriptions of small details regarding operating rooms, doctors and the environment, phrases they uttered that patients in a state of clinical death could not know.

History facts

The historical facts of the presence of an afterlife include the resurrection of Christ. This refers not only to the basis of the Christian faith, but to a large number of historical documents that were not related to each other, but described the same facts and events in a single period of time. Also, for example, it is worth mentioning the famous recognized signature of Napoleon Bonaparte, which appeared on a document of Louis XVIII in 1821 after the death of the emperor (recognized as authentic by modern historians).

Scientific evidence

The famous study, which to some extent confirmed the presence of the soul, is considered to be a series of experiments (“direct weighing of the soul”) by the American physician Duncan McDougall, who recorded a stable loss of body weight at the time of death of the observed patients. In five experiments confirmed by the scientific community, the weight loss ranged from 15 to 35 grams. Separately, science considers the following theses “new in the science of life after death” relatively proven:

  • consciousness continues to exist after the brain is turned off during clinical death;
  • out-of-body experiences, visions that patients experience during operations;
  • meeting with deceased relatives and people whom the patient might not even know, but described after returning;
  • general similarity of near-death experiences;
  • scientific evidence life after death, based on the study of states of post-mortem transition;
  • absence of defects in disabled people during out-of-body presence;
  • the ability of children to remember a past life.

It’s hard to say whether there is evidence of life after death that is 100% reliable. There is always an objective counterthesis to any fact of post-mortem experience. Everyone has individual ideas on this matter. Until the existence of a soul is proven so that even a person far from science agrees with this fact, the debate will continue. However, the scientific world strives for maximum research into subtle matters in order to get closer to understanding and a scientific explanation of human essence.

Every person who has faced the death of a loved one asks the question: is there life after death? Now this issue is of particular relevance. If several centuries ago the answer to this question was obvious to everyone, now, after a period of atheism, its solution looks more difficult. We cannot easily trust hundreds of generations of our ancestors, who, through personal experience, century after century, were convinced of the presence of an immortal soul in man. We want to have facts. Moreover, the facts are scientific.

From school they tried to convince us that there is no God, there is no immortal soul. At the same time, we were told that science says so. And we believed... Let us note that we believed that there is no immortal soul, we believed that science had allegedly proven this, we believed that there is no God. None of us has even tried to figure out what impartial science says about the soul. We easily trusted certain authorities, without particularly going into the details of their worldview, objectivity, and their interpretation of scientific facts.

We feel that the soul of the deceased is eternal, that it is alive, but on the other hand, the old stereotypes instilled in us that there is no soul drag us into the abyss of despair. This struggle within us is very difficult and very exhausting. We want the truth!

So let's look at the question of the existence of the soul through real, non-ideologized, objective science. Let's hear the opinions of real researchers on this issue and personally evaluate the logical calculations. It is not our belief in the existence or non-existence of the soul, but only knowledge that can extinguish this internal conflict, preserve our strength, give confidence, look at the tragedy from a different perspective, real point vision.

First of all, let's talk about what Consciousness is in general. People have thought about this question throughout the history of mankind, but still cannot come to a final decision. We know only some of the properties and possibilities of consciousness. Consciousness is awareness of oneself, one’s personality, it is a great analyzer of all our feelings, emotions, desires, plans. Consciousness is what sets us apart, what obliges us to feel ourselves not as objects, but as individuals. In other words, Consciousness miraculously reveals our fundamental existence. Consciousness is our awareness of our “I”, but at the same time Consciousness is great secret. Consciousness has no dimensions, no form, no color, no smell, no taste; it cannot be touched or turned in your hands. Despite the fact that we know very little about consciousness, we know with absolute certainty that we have it.

One of the main questions of humanity is the question of the nature of this very Consciousness (soul, “I”, ego). Materialism and idealism have diametrically opposed views on this issue. In the view of materialism, human Consciousness is a substrate of the brain, a product of matter, a generation biochemical processes, a special fusion of nerve cells. In the view of idealism, Consciousness is the ego, “I”, spirit, soul - an immaterial, invisible, eternally existing, non-dying energy that spiritualizes the body. The subject always takes part in acts of consciousness and is actually aware of everything.

If you are interested in purely religious ideas about the soul, then religion will not provide any evidence of the existence of the soul. The doctrine of the soul is a dogma and is not subject to scientific proof.

There are absolutely no explanations, much less evidence, for materialists who believe that they are impartial researchers (however, this is far from the case).

But how do most people, who are equally far from religion, from philosophy, and from science too, imagine this Consciousness, soul, “I”? Let's ask ourselves, what is “I”?

The first thing that comes to mind for most is: “I am a person”, “I am a woman (man)”, “I am a businessman (turner, baker)”, “I am Tanya (Katya, Alexey)”, “I am a wife ( husband, daughter)” and the like. These are certainly funny answers. Your individual, unique “I” cannot be defined general concepts. There are countless people in the world with the same characteristics, but they are not your “I”. Half of them are women (men), but they are not “I” either, people with the same professions seem to have their own “I”, not yours, the same can be said about wives (husbands), people of various professions, social status, nationalities, religions and so on. No affiliation with any group will explain to you what your individual “I” represents, because Consciousness is always personal. I am not qualities (qualities only belong to our “I”), because the qualities of the same person can change, but his “I” will remain unchanged.

Mental and physiological characteristics too.

Some say that their “I” is their reflexes, their behavior, their individual ideas and preferences, their psychological characteristics and the like.

Actually, this cannot be the core of the personality, which is called “I”. For what reason? Because throughout life, behavior, ideas and preferences change, and even more so psychological characteristics. It cannot be said that if previously these features were different, then it was not my “I”. Realizing this, some people make the following argument: “I am my individual body.” This is already more interesting. Let's examine this assumption as well.

Everyone knows from a school anatomy course that the cells of our body are gradually renewed throughout life. Old ones die and new ones are born. Some cells are renewed almost every day, but there are cells that go through their life cycle much longer. On average, every 15 years all the cells of the body are renewed. If we consider the “I” to be an ordinary collection of human cells, then the result will be absurd. It turns out that if a person lives, for example, 70 years, during this time all the cells in his body will change at least 4-5 times (that is, 4-5 generations). Could this mean that not just one person, but 5 people lived their 70-year life? different people? Isn't it quite stupid? We conclude that “I” cannot be a body, because the body is not continuous, but “I” is continuous.

This means that “I” cannot be either the qualities of cells or their totality.

Materialism is accustomed to decomposing the entire multidimensional world into mechanical components, “And using algebra to check the harmony...” (A.S. Pushkin). The most naive misconception of militant materialism regarding personality is the idea that personality is a set of biological qualities. However, the combination of impersonal objects, be they at least atoms, at least neurons, cannot give rise to a personality and its core - the “I”.

How is it possible for this most complex “I”, feeling, capable of experiences, love, to be the sum of specific cells of the body along with the ongoing biochemical and bioelectric processes? How can these processes shape the “I”???

Provided that if nerve cells constituted our “I,” then we would lose part of our “I” every day. With each dead cell, with each neuron, the “I” would become smaller and smaller. With restoration and cell proliferation, it would increase in size.

Scientific research conducted in various countries around the world proves that nerve cells, like all other cells of the human body, are capable of regeneration. Here is what the most serious biological international journal Nature writes: “Employees of the Californian Institute for Biological Research named after. Salk found that in the brain of adult mammals, perfectly functional young cells are born that function on a par with existing neurons. Professor Frederick Gage and his colleagues also came to the conclusion that brain tissue renews itself most quickly in physically active animals.”

This is also confirmed by the publication in one of the most authoritative, peer-reviewed biological journals - Science: “Within two recent years scientists have found that nerve and brain cells are renewed, like the rest in human body. The body is capable of repairing disorders related to the nervous tract itself,” says scientist Helen M. Blon.”

Thus, even with full shift of all (including nerve) cells of the body, the human “I” remains the same, therefore, it does not belong to the continuously changing material body.

For some reason, it is now so difficult to prove what was obvious and understandable to the ancients. The Roman Neoplatonist philosopher Plotinus, who lived back in the 3rd century, wrote: “It is absurd to assume that since none of the parts has life, then life can be created by their totality... moreover, it is absolutely impossible that life is produced by a heap of parts, and that the mind was generated by that which is devoid of mind. If anyone objects that this is not so, but that in fact the soul is formed by atoms coming together, i.e. bodies indivisible into parts, then it will be refuted by the fact that the atoms themselves only lie one next to the other, not forming a living whole, for unity and joint feeling cannot be obtained from bodies that are insensitive and incapable of unification; but the soul feels itself.”

“I” is the unchanging core of personality, which includes many variables, but is not itself variable.

A skeptic can put forward a last desperate argument: “Is it possible that the “I” is the brain?”

Many people heard the fairy tale about the fact that our Consciousness is the activity of the brain in school. The idea that the brain is essentially a person with his “I” is extremely widespread. Most people think that it is the brain that perceives information from the world around us, processes it and decides how to act in each specific case; they think that it is the brain that makes us alive and gives us personality. And the body is nothing more than a spacesuit that ensures the activity of the central nervous system.

But this tale has nothing to do with science. The brain is now deeply studied. The chemical composition, parts of the brain, and the connections of these parts with human functions have been well studied for a long time. Studied brain organization perception, attention, memory, speech. Functional blocks of the brain have been studied. A myriad of clinics and scientific centers They have been studying the human brain for more than a hundred years, for which expensive, effective equipment has been developed. But, opening any textbooks, monographs, scientific journals in neurophysiology or neuropsychology, you will not find scientific data about the connection of the brain with Consciousness.

For people far from this field of knowledge, this seems surprising. Actually, there is nothing surprising about this. No one has ever discovered the connection between the brain and the very center of our personality, our “I”. Of course, materialist researchers have always wanted this. Thousands of studies and millions of experiments have been conducted, many billions of dollars have been spent on this. The researchers' efforts were not in vain. Thanks to these studies, the parts of the brain themselves were discovered and studied, their connection with physiological processes was established, a lot was done to understand neurophysiological processes and phenomena, but the most important thing was not achieved. It was not possible to find the place in the brain that is our “I”. It was not even possible, despite the extremely active work in this direction, to make a serious assumption about how the brain is generally connected with our Consciousness.

Where did the assumption come from that Consciousness is located in the brain? One of the first to make such an assumption was the famous electrophysiologist Dubois-Reymond (1818-1896) in the mid-18th century. In his worldview, Dubois-Reymond was one of the brightest representatives of the mechanistic movement. In one of his letters to a friend, he wrote that “exclusively physicochemical laws operate in the body; if not everything can be explained with their help, then it is necessary, using physical and mathematical methods, either to find a way of their action, or to accept that there are new forces of matter, equal in value to physical and chemical forces.”

But the outstanding physiologist Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig, who lived at the same time as Raymon, and who headed the new Physiological Institute in Leipzig in 1869-1895, which became the world’s largest center in experimental physiology, did not agree with him. The founder of the scientific school, Ludwig wrote that none of the existing theories nervous activity, including the electrical theory of nerve currents of Dubois-Reymond, cannot say anything about how acts of sensation become possible as a result of the activity of nerves. Let us note that here we are not even talking about the most complex acts of consciousness, but about much simpler sensations. If there is no consciousness, then we cannot feel or experience anything.

Another major physiologist of the 19th century is the outstanding English neurophysiologist Sir Charles Scott Sherrington, laureate Nobel Prize, said that if it is not clear how the psyche emerges from the activity of the brain, then, naturally, it is just as little understood how it can have any effect on the behavior of a living being, which is controlled through the nervous system.

As a result, Dubois-Reymond himself came to the following conclusion: “As we are aware, we do not know and may never know. And no matter how much we delve into the jungle of intracerebral neurodynamics, we will not build a bridge to the kingdom of consciousness.” Raymon came to the conclusion, disappointing for determinism, that it is impossible to explain Consciousness by material causes. He admitted “that here the human mind comes across a “world riddle” that it will never be able to comprehend.”

Professor at Moscow University, philosopher A.I. Vvedensky in 1914 formulated the law of “the absence of objective signs of animation.” The meaning of this law is that the role of the psyche in the system of material processes of behavior regulation is completely elusive and there is no conceivable bridge between the activity of the brain and the area of mental or spiritual phenomena, including Consciousness.

The leading experts in neurophysiology, Nobel Prize laureates David Hubel and Torsten Wiesel recognized that in order to establish a connection between the brain and Consciousness, one must understand what reads and decodes the information that comes from the senses. The researchers acknowledged that this could not be done.

There is interesting and convincing evidence of the absence of a connection between Consciousness and the functioning of the brain, understandable even to people far from science. Here it is:

Let us assume that the "I" is the result of the work of the brain. As neurophysiologists probably know, a person can live with even one hemisphere of the brain. At the same time, he will have Consciousness. A person who lives only with the right hemisphere of the brain undoubtedly has an “I” (Consciousness). Accordingly, we can conclude that the “I” is not located in the left, absent, hemisphere. A person with only a functioning left hemisphere also has an “I”, therefore the “I” is not located in the right hemisphere, which is absent in this person. Consciousness remains regardless of which hemisphere is removed. This means that a person does not have the area of the brain responsible for Consciousness, neither in the left nor in the right hemisphere of the brain. We have to conclude that the presence of consciousness in humans is not associated with certain areas of the brain.

Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Voino-Yasenetsky describes: “In a young wounded man, I opened a huge abscess (about 50 cubic cm of pus), which, of course, destroyed the entire left frontal lobe, and I did not observe any mental defects after this operation. I can say the same about another patient who was operated on for a huge cyst. meninges. Upon wide opening of the skull, I was surprised to see that almost the entire right half of it was empty, and all left hemisphere the brain is compressed, almost to the point of being impossible to discern.”

In 1940, Dr. Augustin Iturricha made a sensational statement at the Anthropological Society in Sucre (Bolivia). He and Dr. Ortiz spent a long time studying the medical history of a 14-year-old boy, a patient at Dr. Ortiz's clinic. The teenager was there with a diagnosis of a brain tumor. The young man retained Consciousness until his death, complaining only about headache. When, after his death, a pathological autopsy was performed, the doctors were amazed: the entire brain mass was completely separated from the internal cavity of the skull. A large abscess has taken over the cerebellum and part of the brain. It remains absolutely unclear how the sick boy’s thinking was preserved.

The fact that consciousness exists independently of the brain is also confirmed by studies conducted relatively recently by Dutch physiologists under the leadership of Pim van Lommel. The results of a large-scale experiment were published in the most authoritative English biological journal, The Lancet. “Consciousness exists even after the brain has ceased to function. In other words, Consciousness “lives” on its own, completely independently. As for the brain, it is not thinking matter at all, but an organ, like any other, performing strictly defined functions. It is possible that thinking matter does not even exist in principle, said the famous scientist Pim van Lommel, who led the study.”

Another argument that is understandable to non-specialists is given by Professor V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky: “In the wars of ants that do not have a brain, intentionality is clearly revealed, and therefore intelligence, no different from human.” It's true amazing fact. Ants solve quite complex problems of survival, building housing, providing themselves with food, that is, they have a certain intelligence, but have no brain at all. This makes you think, doesn't it?

Neurophysiology does not stand still, but is one of the most dynamically developing sciences. The success of brain research is evidenced by the methods and scale of research. The functions and areas of the brain are being studied, and its composition is being clarified in more and more detail. Despite the titanic work on studying the brain, world science in our time is also far from understanding what creativity, thinking, memory are and what their connection is with the brain itself. Having come to the understanding that Consciousness does not exist inside the body, science draws natural conclusions about the immaterial nature of consciousness.

Academician P.K. Anokhin: “None of the “mental” operations that we attribute to the “mind” have so far been able to be directly associated with any part of the brain. If we, in principle, cannot understand how exactly the psyche appears as a result of the activity of the brain, then isn’t it more logical to think that the psyche is not, in its essence, a function of the brain, but represents the manifestation of some other - immaterial spiritual forces?

At the end of the 20th century, the creator of quantum mechanics, Nobel Prize laureate E. Schrödinger wrote that the nature of the connection between some physical processes and subjective events (which include Consciousness) lies “aside from science and beyond human understanding.”

The greatest modern neurophysiologist, Nobel Prize laureate in medicine, J. Eccles, developed the idea that based on the analysis of brain activity it is impossible to determine the origin psychic phenomena, and this fact can simply be interpreted in the sense that the psyche is not a function of the brain at all. According to Eccles, neither physiology nor the theory of evolution can shed light on the origin and nature of consciousness, which is completely alien to all material processes in the Universe. The spiritual world of man and the world of physical realities, including brain activity, are absolutely independent independent worlds that only interact and to some extent influence each other. He is echoed by such venerable specialists as Karl Lashley (an American scientist, director of the laboratory of primate biology in Orange Park (Florida), who studied the mechanisms of brain function) and Harvard University doctor Edward Tolman.

With his colleague, the founder of modern neurosurgery Wilder Penfield, who performed over 10,000 brain operations, Eccles wrote the book The Mystery of Man. In it, the authors directly state that “there is no doubt that a person is controlled by SOMETHING located outside his body.” “I can experimentally confirm,” writes Eccles, “that the functioning of consciousness cannot be explained by the functioning of the brain. Consciousness exists independently of it.”

Eccles is deeply convinced that consciousness cannot be the subject of scientific research. In his opinion, the emergence of consciousness, as well as the emergence of life, is the highest religious mystery. In his report, the Nobel laureate relied on the conclusions of the book “Personality and the Brain,” written together with the American philosopher and sociologist Karl Popper.

Wilder Penfield, as a result of many years of studying brain activity, also came to the conclusion that “the energy of the mind differs from the energy of brain neural impulses.”

Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Russian Federation, Director of Scientific research institute Brain (RAMS of the Russian Federation), world-renowned neurophysiologist, professor, doctor of medical sciences. Natalya Petrovna Bekhtereva: “I first heard the hypothesis that the human brain only perceives thoughts from somewhere outside from the lips of Nobel laureate, Professor John Eccles. Of course, at the time it seemed absurd to me. But then research conducted at our St. Petersburg Brain Research Institute confirmed: we cannot explain the mechanics of the creative process. The brain can generate only the simplest thoughts, such as how to turn the pages of a book you are reading or stir sugar in a glass. A creative process– this is a manifestation of the latest quality. As a believer, I allow the participation of the Almighty in controlling the thought process.”

Science is gradually coming to the conclusion that the brain is not a source of thought and consciousness, but at most a relay of them.

Professor S. Grof talks about it this way: “imagine that your TV is broken and you call a TV technician, who, after turning various knobs, tunes it. It doesn’t occur to you that all these stations are sitting in this box.”

Also in 1956, the outstanding leading scientist-surgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky believed that our brain is not only not connected with Consciousness, but is not even capable of thinking, since the mental process is taken outside its boundaries . In his book, Valentin Feliksovich argues that “the brain is not an organ of thought and feelings,” and that “The Spirit acts beyond the brain, determining its activity, and our entire existence, when the brain works as a transmitter, receiving signals and transmitting them to the organs of the body.” .

English scientists Peter Fenwick from the London Institute of Psychiatry and Sam Parnia from Southampton Central Clinic came to the same conclusions. They examined patients who had returned to life after cardiac arrest and found that some of them were likely to retell the content of conversations that medical staff had while they were in a state of clinical death. Others gave exact description events that occurred in a given time period. Sam Parnia argues that the brain, like any other organ of the human body, consists of cells and is not capable of thinking. However, it can work as a device that detects thoughts, that is, as an antenna, with the help of which it becomes possible to receive a signal from the outside. Researchers have suggested that during clinical death, Consciousness operating independently of the brain uses it as a screen. Like a television receiver, which first receives the waves entering it, and then converts them into sound and image.

If we turn off the radio, this does not mean that the radio station stops broadcasting. Those. after the death of the physical body, Consciousness continues to live.

The fact of the continuation of the life of Consciousness after the death of the body is confirmed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Director of the Research Institute of the Human Brain, Professor N.P. Bekhterev in her book “The Magic of the Brain and the Labyrinths of Life.” In addition to discussing purely scientific issues, in this book the author also cites his personal experience of encountering posthumous phenomena.

Natalya Bekhtereva, talking about her meeting with the Bulgarian clairvoyant Vanga Dimitrova, speaks very precisely about this in one of her interviews: “Vanga’s example absolutely convinced me that there is a phenomenon of contact with the dead,” and also a quote from her book: “ I can’t help but believe what I heard and saw myself. A scientist does not have the right to reject facts just because they do not fit into dogma or worldview.”

The first consistent description of afterlife, based on scientific observations, was given by the Swedish scientist and naturalist Emmanuel Swedenborg. After this, this problem was seriously studied by the famous psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler Ross, the no less famous psychiatrist Raymond Moody, conscientious researchers academicians Oliver Lodge, William Crookes, Alfred Wallace, Alexander Butlerov, Professor Friedrich Myers, and the American pediatrician Melvin Morse. Among the serious and systematic scientists on the issue of dying, Dr. Michael Sabom, a professor of medicine at Emory University and a staff physician at the Veterans Hospital in Atlanta, should be mentioned; the systematic study of the psychiatrist Kenneth Ring, who studied this problem, was also studied by the doctor of medicine and resuscitator Moritz Rawlings , our contemporary, thanatopsychologist A. A. Nalchadzhyan. The famous Soviet scientist, a leading specialist in the area of thermodynamic processes, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus Albert Veinik worked a lot to understand this problem from the point of view of physics. A significant contribution to the study of near-death experiences was made by a world-famous American psychologist of Czech origin, founder of the transpersonal school psychology doctor Stanislav Grof.

The variety of facts accumulated by science indisputably proves that after physical death, each of those living today inherits a different reality, maintaining their Consciousness.

Despite the limitations of our ability to understand this reality using material means, today there are a number of its characteristics obtained through experiments and observations of researchers studying this problem.

These characteristics were listed by A. V. Mikheev, a researcher at the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University in his report at the international symposium “Life after death: from faith to knowledge”, which took place on April 8-9, 2005 in St. Petersburg:

1. There is a so-called “ thin body”, which is the carrier of self-awareness, memory, emotions and the “inner life” of a person. This body exists... after physical death, being, for the duration of the existence of the physical body, its “parallel component”, providing the above processes. The physical body is only an intermediary for their manifestation on the physical (earthly) level.

2. The life of an individual does not end with current earthly death. Survival after death is a natural law for humans.

3. The next reality is divided into a large number of levels, differing in the frequency characteristics of their components.

4. A person’s destination during the posthumous transition is determined by his attunement to a certain level, which is the total result of his thoughts, feelings and actions during life on Earth. Similar to how the spectrum electromagnetic radiation emitted by a chemical substance depends on its composition; certainly, a person’s posthumous destination is determined by the “composite characteristic” of his inner life.

5. The concepts of “Heaven and Hell” reflect two polarities, possible posthumous states.

6. In addition to similar polar states, there are a number of intermediate ones. The selection of an adequate state is automatically determined by the mental and emotional “pattern” formed by a person during earthly life. That is why bad emotions, violence, the desire for destruction and fanaticism, no matter how they are justified externally, in this regard are extremely destructive for the future fate of a person. This provides a strong rationale for personal responsibility and ethical principles.

All of the above arguments are remarkably consistent with the religious knowledge of all traditional religions. This is a reason to cast aside doubts and make a decision. Isn't it true?

admin.- It's a depressing situation. Consciousness exists, but it is impossible to explain it. And yet, the theory of understanding the essence and mechanisms of the origin and functioning of Consciousness already exists and it was discovered by the Russian scientist Nikolai Levashov in his work "Essence and Mind", which you can read or download on our website. This work is truly unique, due to the fact that it shows the harmonious pattern and interconnection of the Universe and Consciousness, the emergence of matter, living and non-living, and the further development of living matter until the emergence of Consciousness. Just read and a lot will become clearer.

Is there life after death? Probably every person has asked this question at least once in their life. And this is quite obvious, because the unknown scares us the most.

The sacred scriptures of all religions without exception say that the human soul is immortal. Life after death is presented either as something wonderful, or, on the contrary, something terrible in the image of Hell. According to Eastern religion, the human soul undergoes reincarnation - it moves from one material shell to another.

However, modern people are not ready to accept this truth. Everything requires proof. There is a discourse about various forms of life after death. A large amount of scientific and fiction, many films have been made, which provide a lot of evidence of the existence of life after death.

We present to your attention 12 real proofs of the existence of life after death.

1: The Mummy's Mystery

In medicine, the fact of death is declared when the heart stops and the body does not breathe. Clinical death occurs. From this condition the patient can sometimes be brought back to life. True, a few minutes after blood circulation stops, irreversible changes occur in human brain, and this means the end of earthly existence. But sometimes after death some fragments of the physical body seem to continue to live.

For example, in Southeast Asia there are mummies of monks whose nails and hair grow, and the energy field around the body is many times higher than the norm for an ordinary living person. And perhaps they still have something else alive that cannot be measured by medical devices.

2: Forgotten tennis shoe

Many patients who have experienced clinical death describe their sensations as a bright flash, a light at the end of a tunnel, or vice versa - a gloomy and dark room with no way to get out.

An amazing story happened to a young woman Maria, an emigrant from Latin America, who, in a state of clinical death, seemed to have left her room. She noticed a tennis shoe forgotten by someone on the stairs and, having regained consciousness, told the nurse about it. One can only try to imagine the state of the nurse who found the shoe in the indicated place.

3: Polka Dot Dress and Broken Cup

This story was told by a professor, doctor of medical sciences. His patient's heart stopped during surgery. The doctors managed to get him started. When the professor visited a woman in intensive care, she told an interesting, almost fantastic story. At some point, she saw herself on the operating table and, horrified by the thought that, having died, she would not have time to say goodbye to her daughter and mother, she was miraculously transported to her home. She saw a mother, daughter and a neighbor who came to see them and brought the baby a dress with polka dots.

And then the cup broke and the neighbor said that it was luck and the girl’s mother would recover. When the professor came to visit the young woman’s relatives, it turned out that during the operation a neighbor had actually visited them, who had brought a dress with polka dots, and the cup had broken... Fortunately!

4: Return from Hell

The famous cardiologist, professor at the University of Tennessee, Moritz Rowling, told an interesting story. The scientist, who many times brought patients out of a state of clinical death, was, first of all, a person very indifferent to religion. Until 1977.

This year an incident occurred that forced him to change his attitude towards human life, soul, death and eternity. Moritz Rawlings carried out resuscitation actions, not uncommon in his practice, on a young man by indirect massage hearts. His patient, as soon as consciousness returned to him for a few moments, begged the doctor not to stop.

When he was brought back to life, and the doctor asked what scared him so much, the excited patient replied that he was in hell! And when the doctor stopped, he returned there again and again. At the same time, his face expressed panic horror. As it turns out, there are many such cases in international practice. And this, undoubtedly, makes us think that death only means the death of the body, but not the personality.

Many people who have experienced a state of clinical death describe it as an encounter with something bright and beautiful, but the number of people who have seen lakes of fire and terrible monsters is no less. Skeptics claim that this is nothing more than hallucinations caused by chemical reactions in the human body as a result of oxygen starvation brain Everyone has their own opinion. Everyone believes what they want to believe.

But what about ghosts? There are a huge number of photographs and videos that allegedly contain ghosts. Some call it a shadow or a film defect, while others firmly believe in the presence of spirits. It is believed that the ghost of the deceased returns to earth to complete unfinished business, to help solve the mystery, in order to find peace and tranquility. Some historical facts provide possible evidence for this theory.

5: Napoleon's signature

In 1821. After the death of Napoleon, King Louis XVIII was installed on the French throne. One day, lying in bed, he could not sleep for a long time, thinking about the fate that befell the emperor. The candles burned dimly. On the table lay the crown of the French state and marriage contract Marshal Marmont, who was supposed to be signed by Napoleon.

But military events prevented this. And this paper lies in front of the monarch. The clock on the Church of Our Lady struck midnight. The bedroom door opened, although it was bolted from the inside, and... Napoleon entered the room! He walked up to the table, put on the crown and took the pen in his hand. At that moment, Louis lost consciousness, and when he came to his senses, it was already morning. The door remained closed, and on the table lay a contract signed by the emperor. The handwriting was recognized as genuine, and the document was in the royal archives as early as 1847.

6: Boundless love for mother

The literature describes another fact of the appearance of the ghost of Napoleon to his mother, on that day, May 5, 1821, when he died far from her in captivity. In the evening of that day, the son appeared before his mother in a robe that covered his face, and an icy cold wafted from him. He said only: “May the fifth, eight hundred and twenty-one, today.” And left the room. Only two months later the poor woman learned that it was on this day that her son died. He couldn't help but say goodbye to her the only woman, which was a support for him in difficult times.

7: The Ghost of Michael Jackson

In 2009, a film crew went to the ranch of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson to film footage for the Larry King program. During filming, a certain shadow came into the frame, very reminiscent of the artist himself. This video went live and immediately caused a strong reaction among the singer’s fans, who could not cope with the death of their beloved star. They are sure that Jackson's ghost still appears in his house. What it really was remains a mystery to this day.

8: Birthmark Transfer

Several Asian countries have a tradition of marking a person's body after death. His relatives hope that in this way the soul of the deceased will be reborn again in his own family, and those same marks will appear in the form of birthmarks on the bodies of children. This happened to a boy from Myanmar, the location of a birthmark on his body exactly coincided with the mark on the body of his deceased grandfather.

9: Revived handwriting

This is the story of a little Indian boy, Taranjit Sinngha, who at the age of two began to claim that his name was different, and he used to live in another village, the name of which he could not know, but he called it correctly, like his past name. When he was six years old, the boy was able to remember the circumstances of “his” death. On his way to school, he was hit by a man riding a scooter.

Taranjit claimed that he was a ninth grade student and that day he had 30 rupees with him and his notebooks and books were soaked in blood. The story of the tragic death of the child was completely confirmed, and the handwriting samples of the deceased boy and Taranjit were almost identical.

10: Innate knowledge of a foreign language

The story of a 37-year-old American woman who was born and raised in Philadelphia is interesting because, under the influence of regressive hypnosis, she began to speak in pure Swedish, considering himself a Swedish peasant.

The question arises: Why can’t everyone remember their “former” life? And is it necessary? On eternal question There is no single answer about the existence of life after death, and there cannot be.

11: Testimonies of people who experienced clinical death

This evidence is, of course, subjective and controversial. It is often difficult to assess the meaning of statements such as “I was separated from my body,” “I saw a bright light,” “I flew into a long tunnel,” or “I was accompanied by an angel.” It is difficult to know how to respond to those who say that in a state of clinical death they temporarily saw heaven or hell. But we know for sure that statistics this kind cases is very high. The general conclusion about them is the following: approaching death, many people felt that they were coming not to the end of existence, but to the beginning of some new life.

12: Resurrection of Christ

The strongest evidence for the existence of life after death is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Even in the Old Testament, it was predicted that the Messiah would come to Earth, who would save His people from sin and eternal destruction (Isa. 53; Dan. 9:26). This is exactly what Jesus' followers testify that He did. He voluntarily died at the hands of the executioners, “was buried by a rich man,” and three days later left the empty tomb in which he lay.

According to witnesses, they saw not only the empty tomb, but also the resurrected Christ, who appeared to hundreds of people over 40 days, after which he ascended to heaven.

Is there life after death? What is it like, the afterlife - heaven and hell or relocation to a new physical body? It is difficult to answer these questions definitively, but there is strong evidence for the existence of reincarnation, karma and the continuation of life after death.

In the article:

Is there life after death - what do people see in a state of clinical death

People who have experienced clinical death know the answer to eternal question- is there life after death? Almost everyone knows that during clinical death a person is able to see the other world. Doctors do not find a logical explanation for this. The phenomenon of seeing the afterlife during clinical death began to be widely discussed after the publication of Dr. Raymond Moody’s book “Life after Death” in the 70s of the last century.

There are statistics of what is seen during clinical death. Many people see the same thing. They could not agree with each other, therefore, what they saw was true. Thus, 31% of survivors of clinical death talk about flying through a tunnel. This is the most common posthumous vision. 29% of people claim that they were able to see the starry landscape. About 24% of respondents talk about how they saw their body lying on the operating table from the side. At the same time, some of the patients who survived clinical death accurately described the actions of doctors that took place during the process of their resuscitation.

23% saw a bright, blinding light that attracted people to it. The same number of clinical death survivors claim to have seen something in bright colors. 13% of people saw pictures from their lives, and they were able to view their entire life path, in the smallest detail. 8% spoke about seeing the border between the worlds of the living and the dead. Some managed to see and even communicate with deceased relatives and even angels. A person who is in an inanimate state, but not yet dead, can make a choice - to return to the material world or to move on. Only the stories of people who chose life are known. Sometimes those on the other side are told that it is “too early” for them and are sent back.

It is interesting that people who are blind from birth describe everything that happens when they are “on the other side.” sighted people see. The American doctor K. Ring interviewed about two hundred patients who were blind from birth and who experienced clinical death. They described exactly the same things as people without visual impairments.

People who are interested in facts about life after death are afraid of the end of physical existence. However, more than half of the people surveyed note that the feelings during their stay in the afterlife were more positive than negative. In about half of the cases, awareness occurs own death. Unpleasant sensations or fear is very rare during clinical death. Most people who have been beyond the line are convinced that beyond the line awaits better world, and are no longer afraid of death.

The sensations after entering another world change seriously. Survivors talk about heightened feelings and emotions, clarity of thoughts, the ability of the disembodied soul to fly and pass through walls, teleport and even modify its intangible body. There is a feeling that there is no time in this dimension, or maybe it flows completely differently. The consciousness of a deceased person gains the opportunity to solve many questions at the same time, in general, many “impossible” in ordinary life things.

This is how I described my experience of being in world of the dead girl who experienced clinical death:

When I saw the light, he immediately asked me: “Have you been useful in this life?” And different pictures began to flash in front of me, as if I was watching a movie. "What is this?" - I thought, because everything happened completely unexpectedly. Suddenly I found myself in childhood. And year after year she passed through her entire life, from birth to the last moment. Everything I saw was alive! It was as if I was looking at all this from the outside, three-dimensional space and color, like in some movie from the future.

And when I looked at all this, there was no light in my field of vision. He disappeared when he asked me that question. However, his presence was felt, as if he was guiding me through my life, especially noting important and significant events. And in each of these events, this light seemed to emphasize something. First of all, the importance of tenderness, love and kindness. Conversations with loved ones, with his mother and sister, gifts for them, family holidays... And he also showed interest in everything that was related to knowledge and its acquisition.

At all moments when the light concentrated on events that related to learning, it seemed to say that I should continue to study without fail, so that when he comes for me next time, I will retain this desire within myself. By that moment I already understood that I was destined to return to life again. He called knowledge a continuous process and now, I think that the learning process certainly does not stop even with death.

Suicides are a different matter. People who managed to survive a suicide attempt say that before doctors managed to bring them back to life, they were in extremely unpleasant places. Often the places where suicides end up look like prisons, sometimes like Christian hell. They are there alone, their loved ones are not in this part of the afterlife. Some complained that they were being dragged down, that is, instead of going up in an attempt to catch up with the bright light at the end of the tunnel, they were moving into some kind of hell. It is recommended not to let those who came after your soul do this. A soul that is not burdened physical body, is able to cope with this.

Almost everyone knows what other religious sources say about death. In general, the descriptions of the afterlife in various beliefs have much in common. However, the survivors of clinical death did not observe anything that resembled heaven or hell in its traditional sense. This leads to certain thoughts - perhaps the afterlife is not at all the way many people are used to imagining it.

Rebirth, or reincarnation of the soul - evidence

There is a lot of evidence in the soul. These include children’s memories of past incarnations, and such children are found quite often in the last two centuries. Perhaps the fact is that previously it was not customary to make such information public, or perhaps we are standing on the threshold of some special era, extremely important for all humanity.

Evidence of reincarnation is usually uttered through the mouths of children between 2 and 5 years old. Many children remember their past lives, but most adults do not take this seriously. Children from 5 years of age most often lose memory of past incarnations. Some esotericists believe that babies for some time have the memory of a person who died in a previous incarnation - they do not understand the language of their new parents, they practically do not see the world around us, however, they understand that they have begun a new path in life. This is only an assumption, but there are reliable facts confirming the possibility of the soul relocating to a new body after death.

Some children remember details of their death in a previous incarnation. It is not uncommon for parts of the body that were damaged in a past life to have birthmarks or other marks. Children often tell such shocking details of a past incarnation that it makes even scientists believe in reincarnation and karma. Thus, the loudest statements that reincarnation exists are illustrated by biographical data that has been verified for accuracy. It turned out that the people the children talked about in the first person actually existed at different times.

How little Gus Ortega surprised his father

As one of the most famous examples around the world of children who remember past lives, here is the case of Gus Ortega:

Ron Ortega once witnessed a strange incident when his one and a half year old son Gus said a very strange phrase while his father was changing his diapers. Little Gus told his father, “When I was your age, I changed your diapers.” It was very strange, his son was only 1 year old, and for his son Gus to say that, he must have been the same age as his father.

After this incident, Ron showed Gus some Family photographs, one of which was of Gus's grandfather, named August. This photo showed a group of people, and when Ron asked Gus to point out who your grandfather was, little Gus, without hesitation, easily pointed to the right person. Gus had never seen his grandfather in his life, nor had he seen pictures of him before. Gus was even able to locate where the photo was taken. Also looking at other photographs, Gus pointed to his grandfather’s car, said: “that was my first car,” and indeed, once upon a time, it was the first car that Grandpa Augustus purchased.

Adults, as a rule, remember their past incarnations in a state of trance or a hypnotherapy session. In addition, there is a lot of literature on reincarnation from various authors. However, apart from numerous evidence of cases of reincarnation, there is no other evidence. There are no scientifically confirmed facts about reincarnation; it is simply impossible to prove its existence. It is difficult to answer the question of whether soul reincarnation exists unambiguously.

Life after death - facts about the phenomenon of ghosts

Ghost of Uttuku

Numerous testimonies and facts about the phenomenon of ghosts were found in human history always - even in ancient Babylonian legends it was reported about a wide variety of types of ghosts that came to relatives and friends, or to those who were responsible for their death. Particularly famous was a ghost called Uttuku- people who died from torture became like this. They came both to their relatives and to the executioners and their masters in the form in which they left this world and at the very time when they were dying.

There are very, very many similar stories about the appearance of ghosts to loved ones during the death of a person. Thus, one of the documented stories is connected with Madame Teleshova, who lived in St. Petersburg. In 1896, while she was sitting in the living room with her five children and a dog, the ghost of the milkman's son appeared to them. The whole family saw him, and the dog literally went crazy and jumped around him. As it turned out later, it was at this time that Andrei died - that was the name of the little boy. This is a very common phenomenon when people report their death in one way or another - therefore it is strong evidence of the existence of life after death.

But ghosts do not always want to reassure or simply notify loved ones. Situations often occur when they begin to call relatives or friends to follow them. And agreeing to follow them inevitably leads to quick death. Not knowing about this belief, most often the victims of such exhortations from ghosts are small children who perceive such a call as a game.

Also, ghostly silhouettes passing through walls or simply suddenly appearing next to people do not always belong to the dead. Many people, distinguished by righteousness, appeared to passers-by and pilgrims, helping them in various matters - especially often similar situations were recorded in Tibet.

However, on Russian territory there were similar cases- one day, in the 19th century, the peasant woman Avdotya from Voronezh, who had sore legs, went on foot to Elder Ambrose to ask him for healing. However, she got lost, sat down on an old fallen tree and began to sob. But then the elder approached her, asked about the reason for her sorrows, after which he pointed with his cane in the direction in which the desired monastery was located. When Avdotya got to the monastery and began to wait for her turn among the suffering, that same old man immediately came out to her and asked where “Avdotya from Voronezh” was. Moreover, as the monks reported, by that time Ambrose had already been too weak and sick for several years to even leave his cell. This phenomenon is called exteriorization and only exceptionally spiritually developed people have such capabilities.

Thus, this is another confirmation scientific theory that ghosts exist, at least in the form of a person’s energy imprint on the information field of the Earth. The famous scientist Vernadsky mentioned the same thing in his works on the noosphere. Accordingly, the question of the existence of life after death, although not on the agenda, can be considered practically closed. The only reason for the non-acceptance of these theses by official science is the need for experimental confirmation of such information, which is unlikely to be obtained.

Is there karma - punishment or reward for actions?

The concept of karma, in one form or another, was present in the traditions of almost all peoples of the world, starting with ancient centuries. People all over the world, who had much more time to observe the reality around them in times of lack of technology, noticed that many bad or good deeds tend to be rewarded. Moreover, often in the most unpredictable way.
