ESO: Enchanting - Enchantment. How to Create Simple Glyphs in Elder Scrolls Online

Enchanting is one of the most difficult professions to develop (but not master). But at the same time, of all the professions, it is probably the most in demand and, in view of all of the above, can bring the greatest profit. Almost all the symbols that you will find in the game are of the lowest quality - white. Green symbols will appear very rarely. Even more rarely, you can receive a symbol of even higher quality for tasks. Therefore, the usefulness of this craft does not raise questions.

How does this happen? Very simple, almost like alchemy. As you travel around the world, you will find various runes that make up symbols/glyphs. There are 3 types of runes in total:
Potency rune - square runes that determine the strength of the enchantment and the level of the symbol (determines which level objects can be enchanted). Found in the world in stone pedestals emitting blue light. They are divided into subtractive and adding (negative and positive): for example, a negative rune of power combined with the rune of the essence of fire creates a symbol that gives resistance to fire; a positive power rune combined with a fire essence rune will cause additional fire damage.
*(table with runes of power)
Essence rune - triangular runes that determine the very essence, the essence of the effect that the created symbol will have. They are found in the world in stone pedestals that emit a yellow-green light. These runes are the most common.

Aspect runes are round runes that determine the quality of the symbol being created. They are found in the world in stone pedestals that emit a red-orange light. Quite rare runes. In addition to the fact that they themselves are not found so often, even less often in these pedestals of aspect runes one comes across runes for creating symbols of a quality higher than white. There are, as you might guess, five of these runes in total: white, green, blue, purple and gold.
*(table with aspect runes)

Glyphs are created from three runes, so to create a glyph you need to have at least one of each type of rune. At first you don’t know what each rune means, you can’t understand the translation, its meaning, as intended by the developers. Go to the table and add all three runes. Then click the create symbol button. The symbol will be created in any case, there are no non-working combinations. As soon as you create the first glyph from three runes unknown to you, you will find out the meaning of each of the runes used (by the way, when you open (translate) each new rune, you get quite a lot of experience in crafting). Subsequently, you will be able to compose the symbol you need purely logically, selecting the descriptions of runes necessary for the desired effect to create.
The created symbols, in turn, are divided into three types, depending on what type of item the enchantment can be applied to:
On armor - depends on the type of power rune and the effect of the essence rune, but it is worth knowing that enchantment can be applied to armor only with the effect of increasing the maximum indicator of characteristics: health, magic and stamina.
On weapons - also depends on the type of power rune and the effect of the essence rune. Adds this or that damage, and can take away resources from the target.
For accessories (rings, necklaces) - again depends on the type of power rune and the effect of the essence rune. May have effects of damage resistance and regeneration of characteristics: health, magic and stamina.

Some features of enchanting:
It is worth noting that symbols are applied only to objects of the corresponding level. For example, the Monumental Glyph of Health symbol can only be applied to items from Veteran Rank 10 to 14. Items below the specified levels cannot be enchanted using this symbol.
Symbols best quality give greater effect (yes, your KO!). So the white Monumental Glyph of Health gives an increase of 539 health units, and the gold one (the best possible) - 700.
The effect values that you see in a symbol's tooltip when you hover over it are indicated as if they were applied to a max level item that is suitable for that glyph and that can be fully enchanted (see what full enchantment is - just below). So Monumental Glyph of Health highest quality(golden) can be cast on a veteran rank 10 item, but then the effect of such an enchantment will not be 700 units at all.
Full and minor enchantment. Applies only to armor enchantments. You can only apply the full enchantment corresponding to the symbol hint to the following pieces of armor: helmet (head), cuirass (body), greaves (legs) and shield. Enchantments placed on the shoulders, gloves (arms), belt, boots (feet) are partial, will not have full power and will be equal to approximately 40% of what you see in the symbol tooltip.

Now the most difficult part is about leveling up the enchantment. Yes, this is the most difficult thing in this profession. The longest of all professions to develop. You get a lot of experience just for discovering unknown runes. When all available runes are open, quite a bit of experience is gained for creating symbols from them. Thus, character parsing (the last tab of the glyph creation window) is the most efficient and quick way upgrade this craft. However, as mentioned above, most often simple, white runes fall in the world. Even green ones rarely drop out, let alone others. But nevertheless on initial stages disassemble them mercilessly. For example, creating white symbol for items of 10-14 veteran ranks will bring ~1600 experience, and disassembling a symbol of the same level will already bring ~3300 experience. Creating a purple symbol of the same level brings ~9600 experience, and dismantling it brings ~19700 experience. Attention! We are talking about analyzing symbols found or made by other players, not your own! They sort out their own ones literally for next to nothing. Thus, it is easy to conclude that it is more profitable to give your enchanting resources to another enchanter, ask him to make you the highest level symbols that he can, then give them to you, and you will already sort them out, and thereby get at least 2 times more experience than they would spend on creating it themselves. But you shouldn’t give the golden (yellow) runes of the Kuta aspect to this matter! When parsing glyphs, there is a chance to obtain the runes from which this glyph was created.

What passive skills are there in the Enchantment tree?
The first skill allows you to use more power runes when creating symbols. high level. The first rank of the skill is unlocked initially.
The second skill, as new ranks are unlocked, allows you to use higher quality aspect runes - green, blue, purple and gold - when creating symbols. The first rank of the skill is unlocked initially.
The third one will highlight rune signs, making them easier to find. The more points invested, the further the area of effect.
The fourth skill allows you to hire an assistant who will bring you runes and symbols once or twice a day; there is a chance that he will bring high-quality aspect runes.
The fifth skill increases the chance of obtaining the runes from which the symbol is made when disassembled.

You can discuss and ask questions about Enchantment on our forum:

" is completely different from what we are used to in other MMOs. In ESO, players can create almost any item with minimal restrictions. You choose any skill you like, upgrade it and create items that have level restrictions. The only thing you need to make items of the required quality and level is skill points and time.

You receive skill points by increasing your character level, completing dungeons, completing story quests, and increasing your rank in PvP. These points can be invested in the development of crafting as well as in upgrading any combat skills. Each crafting skill tree contains an ability that, when upgraded, will allow you to create better, higher-level items.

At level 1, players can collect any materials without any restrictions. This allows you to craft the items you want almost immediately, or become a merchant specializing in selling crafting raw materials.

Choosing a profession

  • Alchemy- Allows you to brew potions and create other useful consumable items. They can increase characteristics, increase duration positive effects and give the character abilities that he does not have (for example, invisibility).
  • Blacksmithing- Allows you to forge metal weapons such as swords, maces, daggers and axes. This branch is also responsible for creating heavy armor.
  • Sewing (Clothing)— Making magical robes, as well as light and medium armor.
  • Enchanting- Enchanting players create weapons and armor with special properties using runes.
  • Food supply (Provisioning)— Characters who choose this skill line become Elder Scrolls Online chefs. They prepare food and drinks with many special properties that improve the characteristics of the characters for a certain time.
  • Woodworking- Used to make staves, bows and shields.

Gathering materials and ingredients

The player can collect materials and ingredients from any source, without having to level up any skill to do so. This gives players a lot of freedom, allowing them to jump straight into crafting the items they need. Places for collecting materials and ingredients are scattered throughout Tamriel; in addition, raw materials can be bought from merchants, as well as found in chests or on the corpses of defeated opponents.

  • Fiber Plants (Sewing): Fibrous plants can be used to produce bolts of fabric, which serve as raw materials for creating light armor.
  • Reagent Plants (Alchemy): The crushed parts of these plants become reagents for brewing a variety of potions.
  • Water Sources (Alchemy): Water can be found in lakes and rivers throughout Tamriel. In addition, leather bags with water are found in various camps and settlements. Water is used to make potions.
  • Leathers and skins (Sewing): Skins and skins taken from killed animals and monsters are used to create medium armor.
  • Minerals (Blacksmithing): Found mostly near cliffs or mountains, as well as in mines and caves, minerals are used to obtain raw materials for forging metal objects.
  • Foodstuffs (Food supply): Cooking ingredients can be found throughout Tamriel in various containers, markets and homes. Search barrels, drawers, cabinets and everything else!
  • Wood (Woodworking): Wood can be found in forest areas, caves and beaches. The wood is used to make staves, bows and shields.
  • Runes (Enchantment): Runes are small glowing stones. They are most often found in abandoned ruins, temples, and roadsides. With their help, glyphs are created.

Crafting stations

Finding a crafting station

Crafting stations can most often be found in settlements and cities. They are marked on the map with special symbols. They allow players to create and improve equipment, disassemble unnecessary items and research their properties.

Creation

The main use of crafting skills. You can create any items for which you have enough materials, skills and time. By changing the amount of raw materials used to create an item, you can change its level and characteristics.

Improvement

Using special items (specific for each crafting branch), you can improve the quality of equipment from Common (white) to Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (gold). Improving a weapon will lead to an increase in its characteristics. At the same time, new characteristics can be added to it only with the help of enchantment (glyphs).

You can use up to 5 materials to increase the chance of successful upgrade (20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% respectively). If your upgrade attempt fails, you will lose both the item itself and the materials you used to upgrade it. Certain skills allow you to reduce the amount of materials needed to improve the quality of equipment.

Extraction allows you to break down an item of any quality into its raw materials, which can then be used to create something else. Depending on the level and quality of the original item, you will receive a different amount of materials. Accordingly, the higher the quality of the item, the better the materials that will be obtained from it. In addition, you can upgrade skills that increase the quantity and quality of raw materials obtained during extraction.

Items can only be disassembled at the appropriate crafting stations. So don't sell the useless junk you find on your travels, rather disassemble it.

Properties

The properties of objects can be discovered through study. To do this, you need an item that already has the property you need. When creating weapons or armor, they can only be given one property.

Studying

Research allows a crafter to examine a weapon or armor in their inventory to learn the properties it possesses. To start studying the property, find the desired item (it can be either in your inventory or in the bank) and head to the crafting station. Open the Research tab and select the property you want to research.

The research is carried out in real time, which increases for each subsequent property in the same category. For example, you begin to study the property of swords, which takes 6 hours of real time. After completing the research, you begin to study another property of swords, which now requires not 6, but, say, 12 hours. The learning time can be reduced by upgrading the corresponding skills.

At the same time, you can study 1 property for each profession (until you upgrade the necessary skills).

So, here's what you need to remember when learning the properties of objects:

  • The item you use to research the property will be destroyed. So make sure you don't need it anymore.
  • Once you have studied a property, it becomes available only to the category whose item was used in the study. For example, let's say you're learning to increase your critical strike chance on a dagger. After completing the research, you can only apply this property to daggers. The same property for swords, maces and axes must be studied separately.
  • The research takes place in real time. If it takes 6 hours, you will have to wait that long (it doesn’t matter whether you are in the game at that time or not). Therefore, keep an eye on the stations to know when the study of the next property will be completed.

Special crafting stations

As you travel through Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls Online, you'll find special crafting stations. They allow you to create sets of equipment. Items from these sets can only be crafted if your character has learned the properties required to do so.

We, together with the MMORPG game portal, told you about the intricacies of blacksmithing, today we will discuss the craft of an enchanter.

General information about enchanting and runes

Enchanting requires runes. They can be found in game world or extract from ready-made glyphs purchased from merchants or created by you earlier - cm. blacksmithing guide, item EXTRACTION (extraction). The glyphs that appear as a result of enchantment are placed in jewelry, weapons or armor to obtain an additional effect: for example, adding elemental damage to weapons, and abilities to armor that increase mana or stamina, reduce the cost of a resource, etc.

Runes are divided into three types:

  • - Potency: runes of power (rectangular)
  • - Essence: essence runes (polygonal)
  • - Aspect: aspect runes (round)

Of course, the properties of the runes will not be known initially - the situation here is the same as with alchemical ingredients: if you don’t try, you won’t know!
