With the help of the Ministry of Defense Russian Federation an electronic bank “Feat of the People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945” was created. which is located at podvignaroda.mil.ru, where you can find information about the exploits and awards of your fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers by first and last name. The search takes place using military archival documents that have been digitized and entered into the site database.

How and where to look?

The “Feat of the People” website is the most complete and up-to-date database on participants in the Great Patriotic War - there is information about almost all soldiers. At the first stage of digitization from 2010 to 2015, 30 million records were made on the awarding of orders and medals “For Courage” and “For Military Merit,” as well as information on 22 million orders Patriotic War I and II degrees for the 40th anniversary of the Victory, as well as 200 thousand archival files with a total volume of 100 million sheets!

Such a huge amount of work was done for the sake of main goal project:

The main goals of the project are to perpetuate the memory of all heroes of the Victory, regardless of rank, scale of feat, award status, military-patriotic education of youth using the example of the military exploits of their fathers, as well as creating a factual basis to counter attempts to falsify the history of the War.

There are 3 main search options:

Search for people and their awards
Search for decrees and awards orders
Search data by place and time

To find a person, use the first search option, to do this, open the website http://podvignaroda.mil.ru/ and go to the “People and Awards” tab and enter the last name and first name of the person whose awards you want to find.

To search for decrees and data on the location of military operations, we recommend using another site - “Memory of the People”, which will be discussed below.

If you want to search by award number, you will not be able to do this, because... Award numbers are not indicated in the award documents.

If information about a person’s fate is not known, then the “Feat of the People” website will not suit you, because... it does not contain data on the dead or missing. Such information should be searched on the website www.obd-memorial.ru, trying different spellings of surnames and names because wartime documents may have contained errors in the name or date of birth.

The information is taken from two funds: the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (CA MO) and the Central Naval Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (CVMA).

Memory of the people

Later, a more modern website was opened https://pamyat-naroda.ru/ “Memory of the People” with documents of the Second World War, which has a more pleasant design and, most importantly, more information, maps and historical data.

With the help of the “Memory of the People” portal, it has become even easier to reconstruct the military path of your grandfather, find documents about injuries and awards.

The People's Memory project was implemented in accordance with the decision of the Russian Victory Organizing Committee of July 2013, supported by the instructions of the President and the Decree of the Russian Government in 2014. The project provides for the publication on the Internet of archival documents and documents about the losses and awards of soldiers and officers of the First World War, the development of the projects previously implemented by the Russian Ministry of Defense about the Second World War OBD Memorial and Feat of the People into one project - Memory of the People.

On the page https://pamyat-naroda.ru/ops/ you can familiarize yourself with the plans for 226 operations with detailed diagrams on the map. Each page about the operation contains the names of commanders and numbers military units, as well as a description of the result of the operation.

On the page https://pamyat-naroda.ru/memorial/ you can find military graves in your city. Just enter the name of the city and click the “Find” button. In total, it contains information about 30,588 burials around the world, except the United States.

The page about the burial contains information about its condition (good, bad, excellent), type of burial, number of graves, number of known and unknown buried. Also available on the page is a list of those buried with names and dates of birth and death.

To replace outdated components and/or update drivers, as well as install some programs, it is important to know your current sound card. There are several ways to achieve your plan.

Sound card in a computer

You can find out the exact model of your sound card, using both third-party software and functions that are already included in Windows by default. In this article we will look at how to view the current sound card in your computer.

Option 1: "Device Manager"

There are several reliable ways in order to find out the family and specific model of your sound card. This may be necessary if you urgently need to reinstall device drivers, or when obvious problems begin with the sound card. Read this article and adopt all the methods presented below.

How to find out the sound card on your computer through Device Manager

To do this, you do not need to download third-party software or programs. Simply go to the dispatcher and select the desired item. Be careful, this method will not always let you know the specific model; most often, they will only show you the sound card family. This is quite enough if you are looking for drivers for a computer or laptop, but if the task is specific - to find out the card model, then this method is definitely not suitable for you.

Go to “Start” in Explorer and look for the “Control Panel” field. Click on it once.

In the window that appears, you will see a search bar on the right at the very top.

Start typing the words “Device Manager”, a search will automatically be performed from below. As soon as you see the string you are looking for appear there, click on it.

In the manager, you need to find the line “Sound, video and gaming devices”. Open it by clicking on the small triangle next to it.

Now you can see all the audio devices on your computer. In this case, there are two of them. This is a small addition from Nvidia and the main High Definition Audio sound card that is built-in.

How to find out the sound card on a computer in DirectX

Quite simple and more quick way. Suitable only for those users who have already installed Direct X. Usually, you have already installed it unnoticed for a long time, you just may not remember it. A very important and useful utility.

Simultaneously hold down the Win and “R” keys or Win and “k” keys on the Russian-language layout.

In the pop-up window, type the command “dxdiag.exe”, then press Enter.

Wait a few seconds for the program to respond, then go to the “Sound” tab. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool panel.

It may also be that you did not install the earlier this program, or you are unable to detect the device. Then resort to the last, reliable method.

How to find out the sound card on a computer using a third-party program

One of the most truthful programs can be considered “Everest”, which is now called AIDA64. Follow the link to the official website of the developer http://www.slo.ru/download. Please note that the trial period is thirty days.

Select “Download AIDA64 Extreme”.

Once the installation file is saved, go to your downloads folder and double-click on it. Follow all installation instructions, agree to the license agreement, and select the program language.

The installation will take a few minutes, once the bar is completely filled with green, the installation is complete.

Open the installed software. Find the “Multimedia” tab in the list on the left.

Inside it you will find a section “Audio PCI/PnP”, click on it. In the window on the right it will be written exact model audio controller.

In this case, the device also has an HD Audio device. If you need to find it out, just click on the line title.

The last method is the most accurate and detailed. You will probably recognize your sound card model and the required drivers.

Software method for determining the sound card model

Physical way to determine the sound card model

This method is more suitable for stationary PCs, since disassembling a laptop and searching for small parts can cause difficulties and lead to damage to components. To physically find out the sound card model, perform the following steps:

Remove the side cover of the system unit.
