Types of overalls. Women's overalls: patterns and description of sewing

To create comfort in your home, you don’t need to pay money. You can make beautiful things from scrap materials. For example, make an ottoman from old car tires. This does not require much effort and time, but the product will delight you for many years. The pouf will come in handy at the dacha, in the apartment or in the garage.

Materials and tools needed to create a tire ottoman

  1. Tire - 2 pcs. You can build a base from one tire, but it will be low. If the product is being made for a nursery, 1 piece is enough.
  2. A drill is useful to drill holes.
  3. Plywood - thickness should be within 3-5 millimeters. It would make a great seat. If necessary, it is recommended to make the base for the pouf, and the top to be detachable, then you can put things inside.
  4. Furniture glue - needed for fixing foam rubber and material.
  5. Furniture stapler - necessary for securing the material.
  6. Foam rubber - for seat padding.
  7. A piece of fabric is for upholstering the product. It is better to choose thick fabric and several colors.

How to make an ottoman from a tire with your own hands? Additional materials:

  • Jigsaw, zipper;
  • Hinges for the lid;
  • Self-tapping screws;
  • Bolts (wire).

Plywood is cut to the diameter of the tire. If desired, you can trim the edges with a jigsaw. Polyurethane foam is placed on top and fixed with glue (when used, the polyurethane foam will not slide to the edges).

For aesthetics, a cover for the lid is made from fabric. The pattern is simple: measure the height of the resulting seat and the diameter. We cut out two circles and a ribbon from the material (the width will be equal to the height, the length will be equal to the diameter). Using a machine we sew the circles with the ribbon, leaving room for the zipper. We put the cover on the seat.

TIP: you can simply cover the lid with fabric and secure it with a stapler. It is recommended to cover the back side of the top of the ottoman with non-fabric.

The tires are fastened together. The holes are made with a drill and can be fastened with bolts or wire. For beauty, it is recommended to cover the rubber with fabric.

TIP: another way to hide tires is to carefully wrap the product with rope and secure it with glue. The option is more suitable with one tire. If there are two wheels, you can first wrap them with fiberboard or thick cardboard from boxes.

To make an ottoman from a tire with your own hands, it is recommended to cover the lower platform (chipboard swells from moisture, the fabric serves as protection). If desired, you can attach legs or casters. Then the part is attached to the base with bolts or wire. We connect the lid to the base using hinges (it will open).

The pouf is ready for use. Creative types can spend a little more time to make the furniture more beautiful.

How to decorate the finished product

  1. You need to take a bright plain fabric of several colors, cut out flowers or other shapes from it. Use glue to secure it to the ottoman.
  2. Take old beads, coins, flat plastic figures and attach them to the product with glue. For reliability, the decor is varnished.
  3. You can sew on cute pockets.
  4. Lace is useful; it is sewn over the base onto a plain material. You can apply paint to the fabric and remove the lace. It is also recommended to apply any shapes using a stencil.

Necessary materials for making an ottoman:

3 tires per 1 stool;
- epoxy resin;
- foam rubber;
- 9 mm plywood or the lid of a 5 liter paint bucket;
- leather/synthetic leather;
- heavy-duty stapler gun.

Making an ottoman

Gluing

First of all, you need to wash your tires well to remove all dirt. Now apply glue to the highest point where the tires will touch. Place the tires on top of each other. Adjust the height yourself. In this instruction, 1 stool was made from 3 tires. Wait a day for the glue to dry.

Making a cover
Measure the height and diameter of the tire. Add 2-3 cm to the results obtained for the seams. Cut out a rectangle.
Cut a circle smaller than the tire diameter for the bottom cover.
Wrap the tires in a rectangle of fabric, wrong side up. Secure the pipe shape with pins. The shape should be a little tight. Now slowly remove the pipe and stitch it. Fold the resulting piece in half its width and make marks as shown in the photo. Thus, the pipe was divided into 4 equal parts.
Now fold the circle in half and make marks. The circle is also divided into 4 equal parts.
Connect the pipe and the circle at the marks. Distribute the fabric evenly and pin the pieces together. Sew the circle to the pipe.
Unscrew the resulting cylinder and place it on the tires. Then you need to stretch the fabric tightly and staple it to the rubber, as shown in the photo.

Lid
Measure the tire diameter and reduce the measurement by 40mm. Take 9 mm plywood and cut a circle out of it with the resulting diameter.
Now place the foam on top of the plywood circle, and circle the circle 25mm larger.
Then you need to cut a circle of fabric even larger than the foam rubber by 25 mm.
All that remains is to connect all the parts of the lid with a stapler, and then glue the lid to the base of the stool.

Storage box
The stool can also be modified to hold items.
1. Place a wooden disc on the tire. Mark the locations where the bolt holes should be. Remove the lid and make holes. They should be slightly larger than the diameter of the bolt, because... rubber has the ability to compress.
2. Apply glue to the cover, screw the bolts into the holes in the plywood and tighten the nut. Now apply glue to the foam and cover everything with a cloth. Remember that the foam should be slightly larger than the plywood, and the fabric even larger than the foam.
Fasten the fabric to the plywood using a stapler.
3. The tire cover is made using the same pattern as shown above.

Now you need to make holes in the fabric in places where there were already holes in the tire. To do this, you need to pull the fabric towards you and punch holes through the fabric into the tire. Insert a bolt and nut into the resulting holes, and secure the staple fabric to the inside of the tires. Remove the bolt.
The tire stool with storage space is ready!

Today, not only a summer cottage or a country house needs decoration and arrangement, but also a garden gazebo or even a garage. These structures can be decorated with various interior items made from scrap materials that can be found at any dacha. For example, you can make an original ottoman from a tire with your own hands. By the way, you can find car tires from any car enthusiast or at a tire repair service station. Just remember how in the past you could find a beautiful flower bed made of tires at almost every entrance. Today we will look at a step-by-step master class that describes how to turn an unnecessary item into beautiful furniture.

Making an ottoman from tires for beginners

Such an item will become a truly exclusive and original decoration that can be used when arranging a gazebo or garage. You need to apply your own imagination to the work and show creative skills. If you make a pouf from a tire with your own hands, you will get a stylish and original design.

Required tools and materials:

  • Old car tire.
  • Twine.
  • Self-tapping screws.
  • Plywood.
  • Glue gun.
  • Drill.

Follow these steps in this order:

  • Cut two circles from a sheet of plywood to the size of the tire.
  • Place plywood on top and bottom of the tire. Attach it to the tire using self-tapping screws.
  • Using a glue gun, glue the twine to the plywood. Rotate the twine in a circle, making turns sequentially, pressing them tightly together. Lay down the twine until the ends of the tire are completely covered.

Important! It is better to start gluing from the center, using the snail principle.

  • Coat the glued rope with varnish to protect it from the adverse effects of sunlight or weather conditions.

The result is a wonderful design solution.

Important! The ottoman will be beautiful and economical. You can place it in a gazebo, garage or veranda.

Original do-it-yourself ottoman made from wheels

Here's another good idea on how to make an ottoman from a wheel with your own hands. The first step is to properly prepare the tires.

Important! If you previously used them for a car, then first wash them with water using washing powder and a brush to remove any remaining clay and dust.

Prepare the following materials from the list:

  • Old tires from a car.
  • Thick fabric or mesh.
  • Foam rubber.
  • Lace or fringe.
  • Finishing fabric.
  • Needles, strong threads.
  • Self-tapping screws.
  • Sewing machine.

You need to do the following:

  • To make an ottoman the same height as a regular stool, place two tires on top of each other, then use electrical tape to connect them.
  • Screw the tires onto the inner surface with self-tapping screws.

Important! Check that the wheels are firmly connected to ensure a strong and secure frame.

  • Measure the diameter of the wheel hole and cut a circle of the same diameter from foam rubber. Cover the sides of the frame with foam rubber to make the ottoman soft and streamlined in shape.
  • Cut a rectangle out of foam rubber so that one side coincides with the height of the frame of the future product, and the second corresponds to the length of its circumference. Wrap the frame with foam rubber and secure its ends with strong thread.
  • Cover the hole with foam rubber. But first, sew up the upper and lower holes with a special mesh or durable fabric, and attach foam rubber on top of it.
  • It is better to use high-quality furniture fabric for upholstery. Cut a rectangle out of it so that its short side matches the height of the walls of the future ottoman plus 10 cm on each side of the turn. The long side should be equal to the outer diameter of the tire plus a stitch of 1 cm. Sew the two short sides of the upholstery and pull it over the wheels on top.

Important! It is better to do this on a sewing machine with a double seam.

  • Now you need to finish and fasten the upper and lower parts of the product together. Using a strong thread and needle, fasten the structure along the inside. Thread the thread from the top edge, then pull it inside, pull it out from the bottom edge.
  • After complete covering, place a soft pad on top. Decorate it with applique, fringe, lace or embroidery.

When decorating an ottoman, use available materials, your creativity and imagination.

Leather ottoman for the cottage

If you are a lover of unusual and original things, then try making a leather ottoman from tires with your own hands. The master class given in this section will help you realize your dream of truly decorating your home or summer cottage.

You will need the following materials:

  • Three car tires.
  • Foam rubber.
  • Epoxy resin.
  • Natural or synthetic leather.
  • Plywood or the lid of a large paint bucket.
  • Powerful stapler.

Make an unusual ottoman according to these instructions:

  • Wash your tires thoroughly to remove accumulated dirt. Apply glue to the highest point where they will touch.
  • Place the tires on top of each other. You can adjust the height yourself. Wait a day for the glue to dry completely.
  • Measure the diameter and height of the tire. Add 2-3 cm to the resulting numbers for the seams. Cut out a rectangle from the leather. Then cut a circle slightly smaller than the diameter of the tire for the bottom cover. Wrap the rectangle of the tire, wrong side up.
  • Secure the pipe shape with pins to make it a little tight. Carefully remove the pipe and stitch it. Fold the piece in half widthwise and make marks to divide the pipe into 4 equal parts. Fold the circle in half, make marks again to divide it into 4 parts. At the marks, connect the circle and the pipe.
  • Distribute the fabric evenly, fasten the parts with pins, and sew a circle to the pipe. Turn out the resulting cylinder and put it on the tires.

Important! Stretch the fabric tightly and attach it to the rubber with a stapler.

The news portal “site” decided to devote this article to interior decoration. We bring to your attention a stylish and fashionable piece of furniture – a tire ottoman. You can easily make such a beautiful and comfortable piece of home furniture with your own hands! Yes, yes, just imagine, you don’t have to buy such beauty in designer furniture stores and pay incredibly large sums of money.

A ready-made ottoman made from a tire, made with your own hands, will look great in a country house, on the veranda, in the garden, in the gazebo, in a city apartment, and even in a cafe or restaurant.

Well, now, let's figure out what materials you will need:

- old tire;

- thin rope or thick rope;

- hot glue gun;

- a piece of plywood;

- bright furniture fabric;

— synthetic winterizer or foam rubber;

- furniture glue;

- furniture stapler;

- scissors;

- four large buttons.

Manufacturing:

The tire must be thoroughly washed and dried. Then wrap it with a thin rope or thick rope, fixing it with glue.

Then cut a circle from a piece of plywood, the diameter of which will be slightly larger than the diameter of the hole in the tire. Place the cut plywood in the center of the tire, securing it with glue. This will be the bottom of the ottoman.

Now we cut out another circle from another sheet of plywood. We glue foam rubber to it, and then wrap it in beautiful furniture fabric, which we fasten with a furniture stapler. This will be the seat of the ottoman.

We decorate the ottoman with four large buttons.

A detailed master class on making an ottoman from a tire can be seen in this video.

Welcome to the website of crafts and needlework. Today we will describe how to create a creative pouf with your own hands from a car tire, thick rope and plywood.

The idea is very simple, but at the same time very useful and versatile: it is comfortable to sit on, and the ottoman can be used as a coffee table.

We have already written how you can use car tires: creating flower beds in the country, and in this case we will use car tires more practically. A pouf made in this way can be useful not only in a summer cottage, but also in a city apartment, in a cafe, or on a picnic.

To make a pouf from a tire you need:

  • car tire,
  • thick rope,
  • 2 round pieces of plywood 55 mm,
  • Upholstery fabric,
  • glue gun,
  • scissors,
  • self-tapping screws

Tools: drill, screwdriver or screwdriver, jigsaw.

Let's start making the ottoman

First you need to prepare the tire itself, to do this you need to wash it and wipe it dry with a rag or let it dry in the sun.

We install the plywood circle on the tire and screw in 4-5 screws along the radius of the tire (the screws must go completely into the tire). For convenience, you can pre-make holes with a screwdriver. We do the same actions, turning the tire over to the other side.

Next, let's start decorating our ottoman using thick rope. Using a glue gun, we begin to attach the twine, starting from the center of the plywood circle. Then in a spiral we cover the entire tire. We don’t touch the bottom of our ottoman and leave it as is. If there is an extra piece of rope left, then simply cut it off.

You can apply a colorless varnish to the finished ottoman, which will reliably protect it from dirt. You just need to apply it in several layers for the best effect. After waiting for the previous layer to dry, apply the next one.

We wait for the varnish to dry completely, we can use tire pouf as intended. And using your imagination, you can come up with a lot of appointments for him.
