We offer holidays on the Sea of Azov 2019 without intermediaries. The website has a large selection of places to stay - there are descriptions of objects, prices, reviews, photos and phone numbers for booking.

Of course, the resorts of the Black Sea in the Krasnodar region enjoy the laurels of popularity, but there is also something to do in the Azov region. It’s worth coming to the Azov coast at least just passing through for the excellent local wines, fish and golden shell beaches.

Weather

For most of the summer, along the coast of the Sea of Azov, the weather is warm, sunny, precipitation is rare, the temperature does not change much during the day, on average remaining between +25 and +30 degrees. Unlike the Black Sea resorts, these places are surrounded by endless steppes. The air blows hot from there, and the tan sticks faster.

Resorts of the Azov Sea

There are a large number of small settlements along the coast, so finding a secluded, calm place is not difficult. The villages of Ilyich, Kuchugury, and Peresyp may be pleasant to settle in. For those who like a noisy holiday, Yeysk or the village of Golubitskaya are suitable - there are many more entertainment and entertainment venues there.

Extreme holiday

Wind on the Azov Sea is not uncommon, which means it is an opportunity to engage in extreme sports. For example, adrenaline lovers have thoroughly chosen the village of Dolzhanskaya. Moderately large waves and regular wind make this place ideal for windsurfing and kiting. At the so-called stations, where extreme sports enthusiasts are located, you can rent equipment.

Main attractions on the Sea of Azov

The towns in this area have a rich history, so there are a large number of monuments and museums. The main monuments are associated with the names of great people who lived in Azov and with the Cossacks.

"Ataman"

The first place you should definitely visit on the Sea of Azov is the Ataman ethnographic complex. Life-size Cossack huts were erected on 60 hectares and the life of the Cossacks who lived in the 18th-20th centuries was shown. It will take at least 2 hours to view all the exhibitions, so if the weather is sunny, come either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Crocodile and ostrich farm

Not only abroad can you see how crocodiles and ostriches are bred. Arriving on the Azov coast of Kuban, you will be offered trips to farms where interesting and educational excursions will be held.

Festivals

Taman is a place not only of archaeological excavations, but also of world-famous festivals dedicated to wine: “Taman Vine” and “Wines of Kuban”. It is held in early August.

Beach holiday

The Sea of Azov is strikingly different from the Black Sea. And it’s not just about shells, which are also found on the Anapa coast. The water of the Sea of Azov is usually muddy, but very warm due to the shallow depth of the sea itself. By the way, it proudly bears the name of the shallowest sea in the world - the maximum depth does not even reach 14 meters.

Mostly all the beaches are sandy, which makes the holiday especially comfortable for families with children.

Holidays on the Azov Sea with children

There are many beaches in Azov, and thanks to the shallow and flat bottom, they are ideal for families with children. But children quickly get bored with a beach holiday, and they demand entertainment. Fortunately, there are plenty of them both in cities on the Azov Sea and in villages.

Water parks

The water park is entertainment not only for children, but also for adults. One of the popular ones is located in the village of Golubitskaya and is called “Amazon”. The largest slide reaches a height of 21 meters! For little tourists there is a separate area with shallow pools and slides. Vacationers note the absence of queues on the slides and the relatively low price for a ticket.

Oceanarium

The Shark Reef aquarium has been operating in Yeisk for 8 years now, where the most amazing representatives of the aquatic element are collected in huge modern aquariums.

Zoo

There is also a zoo in the village of Golubitskaya, where you can feed many animals by hand. In addition to wild and exotic animals, there is also a bird house, which children really like to visit.

In addition, there are attractions for children on the Azov coast, children's entertainment centers, rental of bicycles and electric cars. And nearby there is the Lotus Valley and mud volcanoes!

If you are traveling with small children, choose accommodation in the village of Ilyich. The sea here is completely shallow, and there are very few outside tourists on the beaches.

How to get to the Sea of Azov

You can get to the Sea of Azov in the Krasnodar Territory by car, train or plane.

The nearest air harbors are in Anapa and Krasnodar. Getting to Taman from Anapa is easier and faster. The bus should be chosen in the direction of Yantar, Volna or Taman. The drive is approximately 75 km. It should be noted that not all buses have air conditioning, so if you are traveling with children, it is better not to waste money on a taxi or use the hotel transfer service.

You can also come to relax on the Sea of Azov by train. Trains depart from all over the country to Yeysk, and in the summer there are even more of them.

By car, you first need to go to Krasnodar, and then to Slavyansk-on-Kuban. From there it’s a stone’s throw to the Sea of Azov.

19.03.2015
The list of issues considered at the meeting with the governor of the Krasnodar Territory included a discussion of the work of the Kerch crossing, attention was focused on the conditions for travel across the Sea of Azov on vacation for certain categories of citizens.

12.03.2015

The village of Starotitarovskaya will once again host the regional stage of the regional festival of amateur creativity of young talents “Fresh Wind”, thanks to which tourists vacationing on the Sea of Azov and not far from it will be able to diversify their cultural program.

The Sea of Azov does not extend beyond the post-Soviet space. Only two countries on planet Earth have the right to call this wonderful reservoir their property. Only the territories of Ukraine and Russia were lucky enough to own the famous reservoir. Of the main tourist destinations, Crimea should be noted. It must be said that waves from the famous water area also beat on the slopes of the famous republic. It should be recalled that in these areas, despite serious competition, resort areas adjacent to the Azov coast are extremely popular. However, one should not think that the Kuban part of the marine complex does not attract audiences. Pardon the pun, but the roots of folk love lie on the surface. Unlike the “black neighbor”, the notorious instability of the depths is not present here. On the contrary, every city that the virtuoso “sleeve” reaches, in terms of distance from the bottom, differs little from its colleagues. The unofficial nickname “paddling pool” very clearly hints at the leadership of family recreation. However, it is necessary to understand that children are unlikely to be allowed to travel without adult supervision. Accordingly, for the older generation there are excellent conditions for a memorable vacation.

From the Rostov region to the Crimean autonomy

Of course, it is impossible to assume that a reservoir of such large dimensions will be out of the access zone. Resort centers are located near the famous water area, and this practically guarantees abundance of transport. The resorts of the Azov Sea can be reached by any means. In general, it all depends on the needs of vacationers, as well as on their desire to get to a particular region. One way or another, the road to any point on the political map of the world, where the silhouette of the Azov Sea is captured, will not cause any trouble.

  • The closest airport to the Sea of Azov is the airport in Yeisk, but you can also use other facilities (the Krasnodar and Rostov “terminals” are especially popular)
  • The railway connection covers several cities on the Azov Sea. You can also use bus routes.
  • You can get to the Crimean part of the sea using the bridge of the same name

Climate element

The considerable length of the water area, of course, makes it impossible to talk about the identity of the climate along the entire coast. However, the vicinity of the Sea of Azov lends itself to similar calculations. The common denominator of both weather and temperature indicators is calculated quite easily. To some extent, Crimea stands out somewhat from the constellation of territories, but the deviations from other regions, in this sense, are not so significant. The soft breeze, the absence of unbearable heat and the stillness of the mercury column give us the opportunity to voice the most objective figures.

  • The air temperature on the Azov coast in the summer months averages about 28 degrees Celsius
  • The warmest region on the Azov coast is Crimea. The coolest is the Rostov region.
  • Nights on the Azov coast are considered one of the warmest in the post-Soviet space - from April to October

Heading to the hotel

Again, when looking for the best option over such a vast territory, first of all, you should look at a specific region. In this case, the average figures in the bowels of the hotel industry look quite approximate. It is clear that the price range in this case should not surprise anyone. Elite hotels in Crimea and budget offers in Yeisk naturally form an inevitable gap in price. However, the picture that emerged was extremely interesting.

  • Former sanatoriums in Yeysk are ahead of budget offers from Azov competitors - from 1000 rubles
  • The private sector of Taganrog offers the cheapest prices in a similar segment on the Azov coast - from 500 rubles
  • If you prefer mini-hotels, we recommend going to Primorsko-Akhtarsk (1000 - 1500 rubles per day)

Louder music

Of course, the coast of the Azov Sea is largely associated with the legendary dance music festival. The name “Kazantip” has turned into an international brand, attracting music lovers from various countries to the mentioned water area. As you know, several years ago the legendary open air ceased to exist. However, lately there have been active rumors that the techno party will be revived again in its original location.

  • Initially, the festival was held near the town of Shchepkino
  • The festival was usually held in July-August
  • Cape Kazantip today is a place of pilgrimage for windsurfers

On the beach, near the Sea of Azov

The Sea of Azov is a unique natural object. It is, of course, sometimes called Russian Venice, due to the fact that some scientists fear for the safety of the reservoir. However, the longevity of the reservoir has not yet been reasonably questioned. A huge number of tourists fill the beaches of this water area every year. The shallow depth does not lead to the mentioned fears, but on the contrary, it attracts young swimmers.

  • The sandy surface predominates on the coast of the Azov Sea
  • In addition to the sea reservoir, tourists also visit an even shallower estuary (the most popular is the Yeisk “stream”)
  • The earliest swimming season in the vast Azov waters opens in Crimea

Where to go to the Sea of Azov on vacation with children and company? Let's take a closer look.

The Sea of Azov has many resorts, which are located in the north of the Kerch Peninsula in Crimea, in the north of the Taman Peninsula in the Krasnodar Territory, as well as on the western coast of the Krasnodar Territory and the south of the Rostov region. For some reasons, the resorts of the Azov Sea developed poorly and were always inferior to the resort towns and villages located on the Black Sea. Despite this, in recent years the tourist flow has increased significantly, and the infrastructure of places where you can relax on the Azov Sea has noticeably improved. Many new hotels, guest houses and entertainment options have appeared.

The depth in the Sea of Azov does not exceed 15 meters, which is equivalent to the depth of a full-flowing river. This is why the water warms up very quickly, and the velvet season lasts almost until the end of November. Getting to the Sea of Azov is much easier, faster and cheaper than getting to the Black Sea. The settlements located on its coast are several hundred kilometers closer if you travel from the central part of Russia.

In these settlements, the infrastructure is not as developed as in other resorts and vacation is a budget option. Although there is always something to do there. Also, when choosing where to go to the Sea of Azov, it is worth considering Azov and Taganrog in the Rostov region. They are the closest to get to, and they also have recreational infrastructure. But they have gained a reputation as resort towns differently than the situation with the settlements we described, where you can relax on the Sea of Azov not only on a budget, but also have fun.

I live near the Sea of Azov and therefore I often go there. I decided to write this review for people who are not so familiar with the Sea of Azov. I want to tell and describe vacation spots on this sea. I hope my experience will be useful to you.

And so let's begin!

The Sea of Azov is considered the warmest and shallowest. This is the best sea for children.

I would like to add that this is the most lightly salted sea.

Main vacation spots

Berdyansk, Kirillovka, Genichesk, Primorsk, Stepanovka, Novokonstantinovka. I have been almost everywhere and more than once. Therefore, I have acquired knowledge and experience in each vacation spot.

When is the best time to go to the Sea of Azov?

The season on the Sea of Azov begins in mid-May and ends at the end of September. Since the sea is shallow, it warms up quickly and the water temperature in May can be +22. With climate change, it is now even better to go at the end of May than in June. June, according to my observations, is an unpredictable month. The weather can change very often. How many times have I gone to the Sea of Azov in June, and there was always rain and cold weather. Therefore, I decided to go to the sea in July or August. The only advantage to going to the Sea of Azov in June is the cleaner sea.

But in July, the Sea of Azov is also clean and also warm (26 degrees). The weather is very favorable. Even if there are rains, they will be temporary. One minute it’s raining, and an hour later the sun is shining brightly. It was as if there was no rain, and the water was clear and warm.

About the month of August I can say that it is the warmest month, but algae appears in the sea. As they say, the sea begins to bloom. You can swim, but it is not as pleasant as in July, when you can see that the fish are even swimming in the water. It can also be very hot here in September and therefore, as an option, you can go this month. Prices in September are lower than in the summer months, and the weather is wonderful and the sea water is clean, there are also fewer people.

How to get to the Sea of Azov?

The Sea of Azov is easy to get to. If you choose Berdyansk, you can even go by train. There is also a bus station in Zaporozhye, where there are minibuses in all directions of the Azov Sea. Also in Zaporozhye, at almost every step there are offers from private carriers; they even deliver to the recreation center. Well, you can still get there by your own transport. I’ll tell you on the way that it’s best to go through Melitopol - the road is much better and there are fewer potholes. But I don’t recommend going through Orekhov - it will be a long adventure with a broken road and potholes. Better not take risks! See for yourself:

This is part of a section of the highway, but here it is still in more or less normal condition. I didn't have time to photograph all the holes.

And in Zaporozhye there are even trips to the sea for one day. The essence of such a trip is that they take you to the sea, relax on the beach all day, and take you home in the evening. Very convenient for those who work and only have one day off.

Tourist cities and towns on the Sea of Azov

️ ️

What is good about Kirillovka? And the fact that all recreation centers are located on the seashore. There are bases that are located right next to the sea. You go out in the morning, take two steps and you are already at sea. In Kirillovka there are two spits, Peresyp and Fedotova, as well as Stepok and a protected area.

Drinking water in Kirilovka is imported. And therefore, at many bases, the water from the tap with salt, of course, is not as strong salt as in the sea, but you can feel it. You cannot cook with this water, and drinking such water is even dangerous. Therefore, it is better to buy drinking water in a store; some bases offer free drinking water, but it does not taste very good.

There are also a lot of mosquitoes in Kililovka! This is due to the close location of the estuary. There are no mosquitoes there. And in Kirillovka there are a lot of spiders and all sorts of other insects on the spits.

On more sanitized bases there are practically no spiders, but mosquitoes are everywhere.

Tourists are also offered accommodation in Kirillovka itself. But I give advice, it’s better not to stay there, because it will take you a long time to get to the sea, and you won’t save much on the price, since you need to constantly travel to the sea. It is better to choose a recreation center on the spits. And there will be more entertainment there.

Not all hotels and boarding houses are located on the spits, and even worse, they may not disclose their location and an unknowing tourist goes there and in the end it turns out that the sea is not a stone’s throw away, but needs to go. Please check this information when booking so you don’t regret it later.

Fedotova Spit

Recreation centers on this spit are mainly located across the road from the sea, but the walk is about 3 minutes, no more. There are several bases that are located on the very shore of the Sea of Azov. Also across the road from the bases (this is the main road, this is where you enter the bases) there is an estuary. That is, the recreation centers themselves are located in the middle of the sea and the estuary. At the entrance to the spit there is a dolphinarium and a water park.

The beach on Fedotova Spit is wide. There are shops and a lot of cafes. But there are no amenities on the beach, such as toilets or foot washes. Crowds of sellers walk along the beach with fish and shrimp, corn, pies and baklava. There are also a lot of people offering to take pictures with animals - I saw a crocodile, monkeys, donkeys, camels and boa constrictors.

Fedotova Spit is much longer than Peresyp. This braid ends with the place of Stepok. It takes about 15 minutes to get there by car. After Stepka the reserve begins. This is an almost closed territory and entry into it is allowed only to those who have a permit to the bases located in this territory. Near the reserve there is a simply indescribable and gorgeous sea, but, alas, there is practically no civilization there. There are no cafes, no entertainment, everything is quiet, there you connect with nature. But it’s worth going there - you won’t see such a clean and beautiful sea anywhere else. There are recreation centers on Biryuchiy Island. In general, the entire territory near the protected area is something special, there are practically no people there, you can sunbathe even naked, there is a clear sea and the beauty of nature.

About Stepok I will say that the recreation centers there are located further from the sea and you need to walk to it. The recreation centers are newer and even cheaper than on Fedotova Spit, you understand why - you need to go to the sea. There is a small market in Stepka, and locals carry milk and fruit around the bases in the morning. In principle, you can go there to save money.

Fedotova Spit, as I wrote earlier, is very long. There are a lot of recreation centers, they follow each other. Housing prices vary greatly. There are bases with virtually no conditions - toilet and shower on site, cooking on your own or just in a cafe, and others with meals, a swimming pool and a personal bathroom. For any budget, but we all understand that the better the conditions, the more expensive it is – it can reach fabulous amounts of money. The most popular base is Water World, but I wouldn’t vacation there. It is located at the very beginning of Fedotova Spit and it takes longer to get to the sea than from other bases, but the prices there are high. Of the budget bases that I still remember are Belarus, Avtomatika (almost without conditions, but cheap). I heard a lot of good reviews about the Armati base. There is also a base in Stepka - Elena. There are normal rooms with reasonable prices, but they book it almost from the New Year, and you need to pay the full cost of the tour.

There are many offers of bases where you need to cook your own meals. This is a good option, since you do not depend on the diet - when you want, then you eat. Everyone especially loves barbecue in the evening; almost all recreation centers offer barbecues and they are free, you only need firewood or coal.

And near some recreation centers, locals bring home-made food; their prices are normal, not overpriced. But here is the moment - buy food in the morning, in Kirillovka it is almost always hot and food without a refrigerator in such conditions quickly spoils and you can easily leave. If you follow this rule, then you will not get diarrhea from such food. It is quite edible and good quality for the money. There are two markets on Fedotova Spit where you can buy fruit, milk and fish. One market is at the beginning of the spit, and the second is in the center. In addition to this, there are several other small merchants near the bases who sell fruits and everything for the beach. There are also plenty of shops on Fedotova Spit. But there was only one pharmacy there, but maybe there were more.

The spit begins with an amusement park, and then there is a market and many cafes. Then there are recreation centers. This spit differs from Fedotova in that almost all recreation centers are located on the seashore. No need to cross the road. There are, of course, bases that are located on the second line, but the price of accommodation is a little cheaper. The estuary is also across the street. For holidays with children, many people prefer the Peresyp spit. For me personally, there is not much difference, the sea is the same everywhere, except that it will be quieter here. There are also two markets here. All entertainment is located at the beginning of the spit, but there are cafes on the seashore.

As for the recreation centers themselves, that is, the base also includes meals and can be prepared independently. The Primorskaya Galatea base (buffet), Tavrichesky Kuren (second line) and Peresyp (located at the end of the spit) are very popular.

The bases that are located at the end of the spit are also not bad, but the road there is not very good and not all minibuses go there. I wanted to say that there is a minibus that transports from one spit to another.

The Peresyp spit also differs from Fedotova in that there are more paths and everything is more landscaped, but the beach itself is smaller.

️ ️ Berdyansk

Berdyansk is a resort town. You can spend your holiday here interestingly. In Berdyansk there is zoo(), water park, many monuments, beautiful embankment.

There is a sea, both in the city and on the spit. You can also come to Berdyansk by train. A very popular beach is called Third Beach. There are a lot of people there, but the sea there is dirtier than on the spit.

All entertainment is located mainly in the city, but on the spit the sea will be cleaner and there will be a larger coastline. Someone chooses a vacation spot in the city, but it is more convenient - shops, markets, pharmacies, hospitals, supermarkets - all this is in the city. There are many offers for renting apartments, houses and private hotels. But at sea, I still recommend going to the spit. The difference in sea cleanliness is colossal.

The braid is divided into three parts - the near, middle and far braid. The best place is on the middle spit - there is civilization and the sea is clean. On the far spit, the beaches are not so improved. You can also settle on the spit itself. I have been to Berdyansk many times, lived both in the city and on the spit. My review about the Slavutich boarding house, which is located on the middle spit (CLICK on the link). Everyone chooses for themselves who is more comfortable and where to live. If you rent an apartment, you will mostly need to travel to the sea. If it’s the private sector, then it depends where, but it’s not the sea, but a bay from the sea. The sea there is dirtier, but while there are often waves on the spit, there is almost no such thing in the bay. And mosquitoes are everywhere. Even though they are being bullied. On the spit, the sea is located near the recreation centers; you don’t need to go to it.

As for housing, I can say that you need to book and plan your vacation on the spit in advance - there are practically no places there if you come and look for housing there.

But in the city, right at the station, they walk around with offers of apartments, and if you go to the private sector, there are signs hanging up - there are places. This may not happen only on holidays, non-working days - on Trinity (57 days from Easter), Constitution Day (June 28) and Independence Day (August 24). Don’t try to travel during this period without a pre-booked seat; there is a possibility that they simply won’t be available. During this period, even the highways are overloaded; I do not go to the sea during this period. This applies not only to Berdyansk, but also to all resorts on the Azov Sea. In general, it is better to go to the sea on a weekday (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) - there are practically no cars.

️ ️ Novokonstantinovka and ️ ️ Stepanovka

In Novokonstantinovka, in other respects, as in Stepanovka, the sea differs from the vacation spots described above. The fact is that when the sea is calm it is clean and beautiful,

but when the waves appear, it takes on this color.

This is due to the fact that the bottom in this area is clay.

The infrastructure in these places is not so developed. I advise couples to come here only with small children; it is very quiet and peaceful here. Prices in Novokostantinovka will be lower, but there is no special entertainment. The most popular recreation center is the Metallurg boarding house. In Novokostantinovka there is a mini market where you can buy fruits and some food products. There are practically no cafes or shops.

️ ️ Genichesk

If you have small children and want to save money, then the best option would be to go to the city of Genichesk.

You can even get there by train, it is the most economical in price. Accommodation there is mainly offered by locals. There are many options and the sea is not very far either. There are shops and a market. The sea there is very shallow - you need to walk a fair distance to get at least a little knee-deep. Because of this, the sea is always warm. And at night the sea will turn dark. This is an unforgettable sight.

If you want an inexpensive vacation, it is better to rent a room. Prices from 100 UAH per person. Genichesk itself has a lot of entertainment and vacationers.

️ ️ Primorsk

In this resort town, it is best to relax at recreation centers, and not in the city itself. If you stay in the city, then you will need to drive or walk for a very long time to get to the sea.

There are supermarkets and even a hospital in Primorsk. There is a fish market, there is a market where they sell fruits and vegetables. Everything you need is here and it is very convenient.
