Complete Orthodox prayer book in Russian. Morning prayers

Religious reading: prayer to God in modern Russian to help our readers.

After you have prayed in Russian for some time, it is easier to switch to Church Slavonic, because... the prayers are already known and the meaning is clear. I agree that the Orthodox need to pray in a single language and it is better if it is Church Slavonic, simply because it was the first. This language was blessed in Rus' by St. Cyril and Methodius, our great fathers prayed in this language.

Another reason for praying in Church Slavonic is the difficulty of translation. Often one word means a whole sentence, and the translation becomes dissonant and the meaning is distorted. Because the modern language simply cannot accommodate the full depth of Church Slavonic.

This translation option is only to help you understand the meaning and to study the text.

I would be glad to receive help from all Orthodox Christians - send your translations of prayers, prayers without translation.

Lines in prayers for Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev), due to the presence of long-standing rumors about his homosexuality and tobacco business. I, like many others, doubt that he is faithful to God. Rich priests crucified Christ!

Basic prayers of the Christian religion

Jesus Christ said: “Pray like this” (Gospel of Matthew 6:9):

« Our Father who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen».

In the Orthodox Christian Church, this prayer sounds in Old Church Slavonic. These options are equivalent. Choose the one that is closest to you.

« Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen».

Healers who use prayers of the Orthodox faith do not treat people who do not have the rite of baptism.

The cross is the best protection against “chernukha” - conditions imposed from the outside. The fact is that if you start dividing the cells of the body into ultra-small particles, then in the end you can reach the one that is the last among the material ones and at the same time the first among the “purely energy” particles. And it has the shape of a cross. By reproducing it at the moment when we cross ourselves, we bring to life the basic basic protective forces of the body and soul - provided that we carry out the action sincerely, with faith in the power of the Creator of our world, our Universe, ourselves. At the same time, it is necessary to remember that the prayers that we read when crossing ourselves are the most powerful conspiracies in the world, giving rise to the vibrations that a person needs for protection, destroying any unnecessary external influence. Applying the sign of the cross opens the main bioenergetic centers of a person, and the additional influx of positive energy to them during the reading of prayers gradually corrects the form of the energy field crippled by the vanity of human life. Many healers use the prayer to the Cross “May God rise again,” as well as the prayer “To help the living” , which can be read both before and after the conspiracy.

Prayer to the Cross.

(When reading, mark themselves with a cross),

“Let God rise again, and let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from His face, As smoke disappears, let them disappear; as it is wax from the face of fire, so let demons perish from the presence of those who love God and signify themselves with the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell and straightened. the power of the devil, and who has given us to you, Your Honest Cross, to drive away every sustenance. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever, Amen.”

“Fence me, Lord, by the power of Your Honest and Life-giving Cross, and save me from all evil.”

One of the most famous prayers among the people is “Alive in Help,” known in the Bible as Psalm 90. Soldiers of the Great Patriotic War went into battle with this prayer, defeated the enemy, and it saved the lives of many of them. In the Orthodox Church it is read in Old Church Slavonic language. Therefore, I present it in both versions.

Prayer “Alive in Help.”

“He who lives in the help of the Most High will dwell in the shelter of the heavenly God,” says the Lord; You are my protector and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For Toy will deliver you from the snare of the trap and from rebellious words; His cloak will cover you, and His wings will cover you: His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow flying during the day, from the thing that passes in the darkness, from the cloak and the demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come close to you. Above all, look into Your eyes and see the rewards of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope: You are Your refuge on High. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not approach your body: as His Angel commanded you about you, to keep you in all your ways. They will take you in their arms, and one day you will dash your foot against a stone: you will step on an asp and a basilisk, and you will cross a lion and a serpent. For I am a catch, and I will deliver, and cover, and because my name is known. He will call to Me, and I will hear him; I am with him in sorrow, I will wear him out: I will fill him with long days and show him My salvation.”

A version of the prayer in modern Russian.

“He who lives under the shelter of the Most High rests under the canopy of the Almighty. He says to the Lord: “My refuge and my defense, my God, in whom I trust!” He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, from the destructive plague. He will overshadow you with His feathers, and under His wings you will be safe; shield and fence - His truth. You will not be afraid of the terrors in the night, the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks in the darkness, the plague that devastates at noon. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but he won't come close to you. Only you will look with your eyes and see the retribution of the wicked. For you said: “The Lord is my hope; You have chosen the Almighty as my refuge. No evil will befall you, and no plague will come near your dwelling. For He will command His angels about you - to guard you in your ways. They will carry you on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You will step on the asp and basilisk; You will trample on the lion and the dragon. “Because he loved Me, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he has known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him; I am with him in sorrow; I will deliver him and glorify him; I will satisfy him with long days, and show him My salvation.”

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“Oh, Most Holy Lady Theotokos, heavenly Queen, save and have mercy on us, Thy sinful servants (name), from vain slander and from all kinds of misfortunes and sudden deaths, have mercy in the daytime hours, morning and evening, and at all times save us - standing, sitting, walking on every path, sleeping in the night hours, provide, intercede and cover, protect, Lady Theotokos , from all enemies visible and invisible, from every evil situation, in every place and at every time, be for us the Mother of God, an insurmountable wall, a strong intercession always, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen".

Prayer “To the Mother of God of All Who Sorrow, Joy of All Who Sorrow.”

“Oh, all-merciful Lady Virgin, Lady, Mother of God! Hear us praying to You, and show Your mercy to Your people: pray to Your Son deliver us from all evil, and save our city and all the country of the faithful and the people who piously resort and call on Your holy name, from all misfortune, destruction, famine, cowardice, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners and internecine warfare, from all sorts of illnesses and all kinds of circumstances, so that Thy servants may be humbled by them, neither by wounds, nor by rebuke, nor by pestilence, nor by any righteous wrath of God; but observe and save with Your mercy the Lady who prays for him, and grant us the beneficial dissolution of the air at the time of the offering; ease, uplift and have mercy, most merciful Lady, Mother of God, trembling in every misfortune and need; Remember Thy servants and do not despise our tears and sighs, and renew us with the grace of Thy mercy, so that we may be comforted with thanksgiving, having found Thy Helper. Have mercy, O Most Pure Lady, on Thy weak people, our hope; Gather those who are scattered, guide those who have gone astray to the right path, bring back those who have fallen away from the piety of the fatherly faith, support old age, discipline the young, educate the infants, glorify those who glorify Thee, preserve and preserve the Church of Thy Son for the length of days. You, O Lady, are the glory of heaven and the hope of earth. You are our hope and intercessor of all those who flow to You and ask for Your holy help. You are our warm prayer service to Your Son and our God; Your obscene prayer can do a lot to implore the Lord, and through your intercession we approach the throne of grace of His most holy and life-giving mysteries with boldness, even if we are unworthy. With the same holy image of Yours and the Almighty held by Your hand, seeing on the icon, we rejoice at sinners, falling with tenderness and kissing this love, hoping, Lady, with Your holy prayers to reach heavenly, endless life and stand shamelessly on the day of judgment at the right hand of the Son Yours and our God, glorifying Him together with the beginningless Father, the Most Holy Good and Life-Giving Spirit forever and ever.”

Prayer to the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon - healer of all ailments.

“We now resort to You, as a free doctor, a comforter of the sorrowing, an enricher of the poor, Saint Panteleimon. Having learned well the wisdom of the world and the art of medicine, You believed in Christ and, having received the gift of healing from Him, healed the sick without compensation. You distributed all your wealth to the poor, the wretched, orphans and widows; You visited the languid in chains, the holy sufferer of Christ, and consoled them with healing, conversation and alms. For your faith in Christ, having experienced various torments, You were beheaded with a sword, and before Your death, Christ appeared and called You Panteleimon, that is, the all-merciful, because He gave You the grace to always have mercy on all those who come to You in any circumstances and sorrows. Hear us, with faith and love, running to You, Holy Great Martyr, for You were called all-merciful by the Savior Christ Himself, and in your earthly life you gave healing to one, alms to another, and comfort to others generously, not letting anyone go from you without benefit. So now, do not reject us and do not leave us, St. Panteleimon, but listen and hasten to help us; Heal and heal from all sorrow and illness, free from troubles and dangers, and pour Divine consolation into our hearts, so that being vigorous in body and spirit, we glorify the Savior Christ forever.

To the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen".

Prayer for healing.

(from the works of St. Ephraim the Syrian)

“Heal, O Lord, and I will be healed. The only wise and merciful Physician, I beg You: heal the ulcers of my body and soul and enlighten the eyes of my mind, so that I can understand Your constant dispensation for me! May Thy grace, this true salt, correct my unreasonable heart and mind. What will I tell you, O All-Knower? You alone know that, like the waterless land, my soul thirsts for You, my heart also desires. Your grace has always nourished the one who loves You. Therefore, even now, heed my prayer, for my mind, like a captive, seeks You, the only and true Savior. Send Your grace to help me, and it will satisfy my hunger and quench my thirst. I thirst insatiably for You, Lord; and who can be satisfied with You if he truly loves You and thirsts for the light of Your truth? Fulfill my requests, O Giver of Light, and give me according to my prayer: pour out into my heart one drop of Your grace, so that the flame of your love will kindle in my heart, like fire in a forest, and destroy, thorns and thistles, all evil thoughts. Give me without measure, as God gives to man. Grant as King of kings! Let him, as a wicked person, reject your gifts; You, who filled the waterpots with Your blessing, quench my thirst with Your grace and feed the hungry me, You have fed five thousand! Grant, O Lover of Mankind, to Your servant what he asks for! You, who accepted the widow’s two mites, accept the prayer of Your servant, hear my prayer and fulfill what I ask - may I be with the temple of Your grace; may she dwell in me, teaching me how to please her; may she bind my mind like a bridle, so that I may not sin before You and You will not cast me out of the light. Hear me.” Lord, hear my prayer and help me, the unclean, to become clean, the unhealthy to become healthy, the foolish to become reasonable, the useless to become useful in the herd of Your chosen ascetics and to be called into Your Kingdom. Hear, O Lord, the prayer of Your servant, and let my prayer come closer to You, O Lord, blessed above all forever. Amen".

Prayer “Doors of Mercy.

“Open the doors of mercy for us, blessed Mother of God, so that we who trust in You may not perish, but may be delivered from troubles by You: for You are the salvation of the Christian race. Amen".

“Holy Angel, standing before my accursed soul and my passionate life, do not leave me, a sinner, nor depart from me for my intemperance. Do not give room to the evil demon to possess me through the violence of this mortal body; strengthen my poor and thin hand and guide me on the path of salvation. To her, holy Angel of God, guardian and patron of my damned soul. and body, forgive me everything, I have offended you greatly all the days of my life, and if I sinned in this last night, cover me on this day, and keep me from every opposite temptation, so that I will not anger God in any sin, and pray for me to the Lord, that He may strengthen me in His passion, and show me worthy as a servant of His goodness. Amen".

Prayerful invocation of the saint whose name you bear.

“Pray to God for me, holy servant of God (name), as I diligently resort to you, a quick helper and prayer book for my soul.”

Prayer of thanksgiving.

“It is worthy to eat as truly you bless Theotokos, blessed and most immaculate and Mother of our God. The most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, without the destruction of God from the Word, we magnify Thee, the real Mother of God. Glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother of our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all saints, have mercy on us. Amen".

Then you can start reading the plot.

NEVER DESPAIR IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION!

Morning prayers

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit- see the words of the Lord addressed to the Apostles: Go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19), i.e. God, One in Three Persons.

Amen- truly, truly, truly, truly (from ancient Hebrew). This word is used at the end of many prayers for greater strength in affirming the truth of what was said.

(See Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, verse 13)

Comforter– means called to help, Patron, Intercessor. Greek verb comfort also has meanings: to calm, to pacify, to console in sorrow, and also convince, instruct to a virtuous life.

Izhe(even, hedgehog) – which, which (which, which). The following may also mean: Who; what; anyone; this etc.

- abiding everywhere, like God, and filling everything (the whole world, all existence). Syi- existing, located.

Treasure of the Good– Source, Treasury, repository of all that is good and good.

Life Giver– lit. meaning of the Greek word horygos(giver) – the one who at your own expense supplied (in Athens) a choir for festivities (which was one of the most expensive public duties, and therefore was charged only to the richest citizens of the city). Later this word came to mean generally assistant, one who delivers something or supplies something: food, life supplies, taking on yourself all expenses.

Better– The Holy Spirit is called good as one of the persons of the Most Holy Trinity, for no one is good except God alone (Mark 10:18).

From all filth- from all uncleanness, that is, from all sins.

In this prayer we pray to the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity. In it we call the Holy Spirit the King of Heaven, because He, as the true God, equal to God the Father and God the Son, invisibly reigns over us, owns us and the whole world. We call Him the Comforter because He comforts us in our sorrows and misfortunes. We call Him the Spirit of truth (as the Savior Himself called Him), because He, as the Holy Spirit, teaches everyone only one truth, righteousness, only what is useful for us and serves for our salvation. He is God, and He is everywhere and fills everything with Himself: Sit everywhere and do everything. He, as the ruler of the whole world, sees everything and, where needed, gives. He is the treasure of good things, that is, the keeper of all good deeds, the source of all the good things that you need to have. We call the Holy Spirit the Giver of life, because everything in the world lives and moves by the Holy Spirit, that is, everything receives life from Him, and especially people receive from Him spiritual, holy and eternal life beyond the grave, being cleansed through Him from their sins. We turn to Him with the request: “Come and dwell in us,” that is, constantly abide in us, as in your temple, cleanse us from all filth, that is, sins, make us saints worthy of Your presence in us, and save us, Dear One, our souls are freed from sins and the punishments that come with sins, and through this grant us the Kingdom of Heaven.

Immortal- undying, eternal.

Forever and ever- forever.

Now and ever and unto ages of ages- now, and always, and to endless ages. Now and forever belong to our world, and forever and ever- to eternity.

Trinity– Trinity, three Persons of the Divine: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Sins and iniquities- our deeds are contrary to the will of God.

Infirmities– weaknesses, sins, powerlessness.

For your name's sake- to glorify Your name.

Three times - according to the number of Persons of the Holy Trinity.

Yesi– verb form be in the 2nd person singular. numbers of the present time.

Who art thou in heaven– Which is in heaven, or heavenly.

Hallowed be Thy name- will become famous. Commentary by St. John Chrysostom: “Saying Hallowed be thy name, we do not bring to God holiness that supposedly does not exist with Him, but we glorify what exists.”

In heaven- in the sky.

Urgentletters from Greek. - necessary for existence.

Today- today, for the present day.

Our debtor– to those people who have sinned against us.

Don't lead us into temptation- Do not allow us to fall into temptation.

From the evil one- from the devil and, in general, from all evil.

Our Father, who art in heaven! With these words we turn to God and, calling Him Heavenly Father, we call upon Him to listen to our requests or petitions. When we say that He is in heaven, we must mean the spiritual, invisible sky, and not that visible blue vault that is spread over us and which we call heaven.

Hallowed be your name- that is, help us to live righteously, holyly and glorify Your name with our holy deeds.

Thy Kingdom come- that is, honor us here on earth with Your Heavenly Kingdom, which is truth, love and peace; reign in us and rule us.

Thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth- that is, let everything not be as we want, but as You please, and help us to obey this Your will and fulfill it on earth as unquestioningly and without grumbling as it is fulfilled, with love and joy, by the holy Angels in heaven . Because only You know what is useful and necessary for us, and You wish us good more than we ourselves.

Give us our daily bread today- that is, give us for this day, for today, our daily bread. By bread here we mean everything necessary for our life on earth: food, clothing, housing, but most importantly the Most Pure Body and the Honest Blood in the Sacrament of Holy Communion, without which there is no salvation in eternal life. The Lord commanded us to ask ourselves not for wealth, not for luxury, but only for the most necessary things, and to rely on God in everything, remembering that He, as a Father, always cares and takes care of us.

And forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors.- that is, forgive us our sins just as we ourselves forgive those who have offended or offended us. In this petition, our sins are called our debts, because the Lord gave us strength, abilities and everything else in order to do good deeds, and we often turn all this into sin and evil and become debtors to God. And if we ourselves do not sincerely forgive our debtors, that is, people who have sins against us, then God will not forgive us. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself told us about this.

And do not lead us into temptation– temptations are a state when something or someone draws us to sin, tempts us to do something lawless or bad. We ask - do not allow us to be tempted, which we cannot endure, help us overcome temptations when they happen.

But deliver us from evil- that is, deliver us from all evil in this world and from the culprit (chief) of evil - from the devil (evil spirit), who is always ready to destroy us. Deliver us from this cunning, crafty power and its deceptions, which is nothing before you.

Troparia Trinity- troparia addressed to the Most Holy Trinity.

Let's fall down– we fall to You (literally at Your feet). We cry out the angel's song- we sing the song with which the Angels glorify God. The prophet Isaiah tells of the Seraphim standing around the Throne of the Lord and calling to each other: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts! the whole earth is full of His glory!(Isa. 6:2-3). (The Lord of Hosts is the Lord of the Heavenly (Angelic) powers and armies.)

Mother of God- according to the prayers of the Mother of God.

Odr- bed, bed.

You raised me up– picked me up.

Who knows?- to sing Your praises.

Suddenly the Judge will come- the Lord will suddenly come to judge each of us (our death) and all of humanity (the Last Judgment).

Fear- in fear, from fear.

We're calling– here: let us cry, let us shout (in the Greek text of the prayer literally: Let's exclaim). (In the Church Slavonic language there is no sound “ё”, so you should read “we call”, and not “we call”, “your”, and not “yours”, “moé”, and not “mine”, etc.)

At midnight- on a sinful night. Midnight is the time for midnight prayers.

Having risen from sleep, we fall down, You, Blessed… Having barely awakened from sleep, we turn, and must certainly first turn, to the Triune God with angelic praise and for the sake of the Mother of God’s intercession for us, we ask for mercy.

From bed and sleep you raised me up, O Lord... After sleep, our mind and heart and lips are lazy towards God and turn to worldly things - and we ask that the Lord Himself enlighten our heart and mind, and open our lips to angelic praise and have mercy on us through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Suddenly the Judge will come... We remember that terrible hour when the Heavenly Judge, the Lord Jesus Christ, will come in human form to earth for the second time - he will come to judge people for their deeds, which can no longer be hidden: all truth and untruth will be revealed, and not only to the omniscient God, but also for all people: each of us will then see and recognize all the deeds of his neighbor, we will also recognize the deeds ourselves that we have already forgotten. That hour will be terrible, because we will have nothing with which to justify ourselves before God; The only hope that remains is the intercession of the holy Angels and the Mother of God for us, to whose intercession we resort: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us by the Mother of God.

Below you destroyed me- and did not put me to death ( below– and not: connection of conjunctions neither and same).

UsuallyHere: as always, as you always do.

Desperation– ignorance, carelessness, despair.

Utrenevati– get up early and say morning prayer.

Power- strength, power.

Mind's Eyes- thoughts, mind.

By Your WordHere: teaching, Thy word (and not words).

Petya in confession from the heart- in the Greek text of the prayer literally: to rattle Your glory in a grateful heart, that is, to glorify You in a grateful heart.

ConfessionHere: glory, praise, thanksgiving.

Let's fall down– let’s throw ourselves to the ground (at our feet), bow.

Most of all– especially, most of all ( moreover– more).

Yako– here: for, because.

I'll take it out- always, at all times, unceasingly.

Win and never judge- you will win when You judge me (you will win in court over me).

Xie bo- here, truly ( se- Here; bo– because, because).

Hyssop- an herb used as sprinkler.

Humble Bones– crushed, broken (as we say about illness or extreme fatigue).

Humble bones will rejoice– here: may the broken bones be strengthened again, i.e. the soul is dejected, depressed (by suffering).

Create- create, do.

The spirit is right- a righteous, just, truthful, faithful spirit.

wombHere: the innermost, hidden, invisible depth of the soul.

Reward- give it back, give it back.

Orally– lips, mouth (dual number from orally– lip).

Burnt offering or burnt offering- a sacrifice in which the entire animal was burned on the altar without remains.

Please- do good, make happy.

Zion- the mountain in Jerusalem on which the House of David was built; symbol of the Church.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. The sin is great, so the prophet asks God for great mercy. Only God's ineffable bounties can cleanse grave iniquity.

Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. The Lord has already announced to David through the prophet Nathan that he is absolving him of his sins for repentance (2 Sam. 12, 13) - but David prays that God will completely cleanse him of sinful impurities. So we, too, having received remission of our sins in the Sacrament of Repentance, must still continually cry out to the Lord so that he will destroy the very root of sin in us.

For I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me.. Have mercy, Lord, cleanse me! Sin weighs heavily on me, I cannot forget it, I see it day and night in my conscience, which constantly disturbs my soul.

I have sinned against You alone, and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words, and be victorious, always judging You (in the Russian translation of the psalm: so that You are righteous in Your judgment and pure in Your judgment). The prophet presents himself not to human, but to God's court (David is a king, and he is not afraid of human judgment). Hiding lawlessness from people, you cannot hide it from the Supreme Judge, Who sees everything secret; Before God's truth, our wickedness is exposed - our untruth and unrighteousness, and all our excuses are powerless.

Behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. All of us, descendants of Adam, are conceived in sins, inheriting original sin. We plead with God for forgiveness by presenting to Him our natural tendency to sin.

You have loved the truth. (note the word if you– it indicates the 2nd person: Here, You loved the truth). You, Lord, You yourself are the Truth ( I am the way and the truth and the life– In. 14, b), You love the truth and want us to remain in the truth. And I confess that You love the truth and hate lies, therefore I confess and acknowledge before You that I have sinned.

Thou hast revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Thy- the unknown (hidden) and secret (that is, the hidden secret) of Your wisdom You showed me. (King David speaks about his prophetic gift, that God, by the Holy Spirit, revealed to him the inexpressible secrets of His Providence; but every Christian also receives in the Sacraments of the Church the gifts of the Holy Spirit and through the teaching of the Church touches the hidden secrets of God’s Providence, and each of us is told unknown and secret wisdom God: we have been taught the true faith, we have been shown the path to the Kingdom of Heaven.) How did I respond to these gifts of grace? Sin!

Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Here is the hope of completely getting rid of sin and being filled with joy. The prophet likens the action of the Holy Spirit, which cleanses all filth in us, to hyssop.

My ears hear joy and joy. Give me, my hearing, the gracious news of pardon, rejoice and rejoice me!

Humble bones will rejoice. The sin committed crushes not only the soul, but also the body: under the weight of sin, the bones become weak and humble; when the sin is forgiven and the unbearable burden is removed from the conscience, then the whole body is filled with joy (remember how sometimes we sigh with deep relief and straighten our shoulders).

Turn Your face away from my sins, and cleanse all my iniquities- destroy them from the book of my life.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Restore the fallen soul to primeval beauty, destroying in me the impurity of ancestral sin. Give me the grace of rightness!

Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.. Sin separates us from God, from the Source of Life - and we pray that we do not find ourselves in pitch darkness, where the face of God is not visible.

Reward me with the joy of Your salvation, and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. Reward, return to me the joy that I enjoyed when I was protected by You; give me the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. When You deliver me from sin and give me the Holy Spirit, I will be able to again teach lawbreakers so that they walk in Your ways,” David, His chosen one, says to the Lord. And for us, this vow contains the same thought as the petition of the Lord’s Prayer: Hallowed be thy name in us, Lord; for if You cleanse our sins and by Your grace we begin to live according to Your will, then with our very lives we will be able to preach Your truth and turn the hearts of people to You.

Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation. The prophet David asks God to save him from the shed blood of Uriah, in which he seems to be drowning (from blood is a more accurate translation of the words of the psalm). Words God of my salvation equivalent to words God my Savior- an appeal to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With these words of the prophet, we cry out to the Savior to deliver us from the murderous effect of our sins.

My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. My lips are now sealed with sin. Having received remission of sins, I will not remain silent, but will begin to testify about You, sing Your praises and glorify Your mercies.

For if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. You, Lord, have abolished the sacrifices under the law, which cannot grant remission of sins: an external sacrifice, offered without the participation of the heart, has no meaning.

The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a broken and humble heart. The sacrifice that You loved is repentance and contrition of heart; You will not despise a contrite and humble heart, O God (Russian translation).

Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. King David prays not only for himself, but also for his city and people, and asks the Lord to restore the walls of Jerusalem, shaken by his sin. But Zion and Jerusalem in Holy Scripture also depict the entire Church.

Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will place the bullock on Your altar. The psalm ends with the image of a sacrifice to God, offered in purity of heart and righteousness; Having cleansed the soul with repentance, we will rush to God with our whole being and give Him ourselves entirely, our whole heart, our whole life - this will be our “burnt offering.”

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were.

For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human.

She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried.

And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.

And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father.

So, the Creed is a brief statement of the foundations of the Christian faith, the main Christian dogmas, the framework beyond which is non-Orthodoxy.

But this “list” of dogmas is constructed in the first person, personally:

I believe into one God the Father.

and into one Lord Jesus Christ.

and in the Holy Spirit, the Lord.

into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic

I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.

Tea the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Creed - personal confession faith of an Orthodox Christian. This is a confession for what And how we live or should live, the most important thing in life, in the world. This is what God through the Church tells us and what we confess before God and people. Therefore, the Creed is also prayer, a conversation between the soul and God and God with the soul.

As a prayer, the Creed is very difficult: every time you pronounce (at least mentally) these truths, you must consciously accept them into your heart and strive to live by them. But this is a compass, without which you will lose your way on the road leading to life, and you must consult this compass at least daily. That is why it is included in the daily cell rule. It is also included in the shortest prayer rule for the laity, taught to us by St. Seraphim. You can't live a day without it.

Each word of the Creed is extremely deep and capacious; brief explanations cannot go into this depth (which is why none are given in this book). The explanation of the Creed forms the main part - “On Faith” - of the “Long Christian Catechism” of St. Philaret of Moscow, a book that every Orthodox Christian should know well.

At the word symbol– several values; This was the case in the Greek language, from which this word came, and in Russian. This word is especially rich in philosophical understanding (hundreds of volumes of books have been written about the symbol in its philosophical meaning). Here are different definitions from different dictionaries: something that serves as a conventional sign of a concept; in science - the same as a sign; in art, in a broad sense, a symbol is an image in the aspect of its iconicity and a sign endowed with all the organicity and inexhaustibility of the image; the complete picture, the essence in a few words or signs. The original Greek word means: joint, crossing, connection, fusion, meeting, articulation. This also meant an identification mark by which one could recognize each other more accurately than by a password: a coin or bone was split into two halves; if the presented half completely matched yours, it was clear that in front of you was the right person.

On the revealed day– glorious day (i.e. the time of the Second Coming); day is the opposite of this earthly life, just as light is the opposite of darkness.

(The indescribable beauty of the Face of God is not an aesthetic concept, but a fusion of the highest beauty and the highest Good. A beautiful Church Slavonic word kindness, in tune with ours good, kindness, should return our mind to the understanding of goodness and goodness as the ultimate, highest beauty.)

I'll lift up– I raise, I turn (to You in prayer).

Deliver me from the dirty tricks that have been strangling me- deliver me from the evil that corrupts my soul.

Transcending Angel, create me above the fusion of the world. This is a petition to the Highest Heavenly Powers of the Mother of God (the Most Honest Cherub and the Most Glorious Seraphim) about otherworldliness, a necessary property of a Christian. It is impossible to cling to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the hair and the pride of life, to merge with it, to let it into oneself, but to avoid this worldly merger only possible with the help of God's grace.

Light-bearing heavenly Seine, direct spiritual grace in me. A canopy is a shadow (remember the Russian word canopy - an extension to a house that provides shade, or shade - canopy, in hot weather). The expression Luminous Seine, heavenly, is so deeply and theologically significant that a simple translation would not explain anything. It is based on the idea of the luminous darkness of the Divine, the inconceivable, unrepresentable, impregnable God. A cloud covers Mount Sinai when God descends on it in fire to talk with Moses (see, for example, Deut. 4:11; Exod. 20:21). The impossibility of knowing God and approaching Him is resolved only by the fact that God became incarnate and became human. That is why the Most Holy Theotokos is for us not only the Burning Bush, which is not burned by the fire of the Divine, but also the Luminous Shadow of the Divine “Darkness”, similar to Mount Sinai: in Her God appears in the darkness of His light.

Strengthen my poor and thin hand and guide me on the path of salvation– in the Greek text of the prayer literally: “take me by the unfortunate and drooping (weak-willed) hand and lead me to the path of salvation”; the image of a man who has lost his will and energy, with “sagging” hands, unable to independently get out on the path of salvation is given.

All... I insulted you greatly- everything I have done to offend you ( great– how many, how great).

For you are blessed from all generations- for all nations, all generations bless (glorify) You.

Your humble and accursed servant. The words humble and damned are often found in prayers, so it is worth delving deeper into their basic meanings. Humble means not only “endowed with humility” - one of the most important Christian virtues (saying about yourself to God: “I am humble” is even more absurd than telling people: “I am humble”, and in prayer we should not allow even a shadow of exaltation with our imaginary “humility” ”!) – but generally demeaned, low, pitiful. Damned- unhappy, rejected, filled with torment.

Deliver me from many and cruel memories and enterprises, and free me from all evil actions.. With these words of prayer, we ask the Most Holy Theotokos to free us from numerous evil (many and fierce) thoughts, like about the past ( memories), and about the future ( enterprises), as well as from evil actions associated with these thoughts. The focus of this petition on guarding the mind and heart is very important. Standing attentively during prayer, we inevitably notice the invasions of those very memories and businesses, for deliverance from which we pray to the Most Holy Theotokos; The struggle for prayer (and for a truly Christian inner life) is to a large extent a struggle against precisely these enemies, which it is impossible to defeat alone, without the help of God’s grace.

I'm running- I turn, I come running with prayer.

The prayer to the patron saint in all prayer books is given in this most general form, but in practice it is often pronounced differently, according to church custom - with the name of the rank of holiness of the heavenly intercessor: “Pray to God for me, holy Archangel of God Michael. “; “Pray to God for me, holy prophet of God Elijah. “; “. Holy Apostle of God Peter. “; “. Holy Equal to the Apostles Mary Magdalene. “; “. Saint Father Nicholas. “; “. Holy Great Martyr and Victorious George. “, “. holy martyr. “, “. holy martyr. “, “. Rev. Father Sergius. “, “. Reverend Mother Mary. " - and so on.

In this part of the prayer rule it is also good to include short prayer appeals to other saints of God who are most revered by you. They can be completed with an appeal to all saints: All saints, pray to God for us! It is also good, at least sometimes, not to limit yourself to one prayerful appeal, but to read or sing a troparion to a saint (or several commemorated saints). The troparion should be known and understood by your patron saint.

Rejoice- a common form of greeting common in the East.

Blagodatnaya– filled with the grace of God; letters blessed.

In wives– among women.

Yako gave birth to the Savior- for You gave birth to the Savior.

On the resistance- over opponents, over enemies.

Residence– home, society, Church

Preserving Your residence by Your Cross– by the power of Your Cross, preserving the people, Your people (i.e. Christians).

Sins freestyle– sins committed of one’s own free will.

Involuntary- against one's will, through coercion or ignorance.

Kingdom of Heaven- eternal, blissful life with God.

The memorial is usually placed in prayer books at the end of morning prayers, but not everyone is comfortable or able to pray for the living and the departed in the morning. We must find the most appropriate prayer time for the memorial; for some it will be the evening, when all the things have been done, for others it will be the middle of the day, a lunch break (then the memorial is built into a separate prayer rule; in this case, do not forget about the usual beginning and end of the entire prayer order).

For truly- truly, in fairness ( like- How).

Ever-blessed- always blessed (ever - always).

Immaculate- the most immaculate.

Most honorable Cherub- worthy of greater honor than the Cherubim.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Then wait a little until all your feelings come to silence and your thoughts leave everything earthly, and then say the following prayers, without haste and with heartfelt attention.

Troparion to the Most Holy Trinity

Rising from sleep, we fall before You, O Good One, and offer an angelic song to You, O Mighty One: Holy, Holy, Holy You, O God, through the prayers of the Mother of God, have mercy on us.

Glory: You raised me from the sleep of the night, O Lord, enlighten my mind and my heart and open my lips to sing to You, Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy You, O God, through the prayers of the Mother of God, have mercy on us!

And now: Suddenly the Judge will come, and everyone’s deeds will be laid bare, but we also call with fear at midnight: Holy, holy, holy You, O God, through the prayers of the Mother of God, have mercy on us!

Lord, have mercy. ( 12 times)

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity

Having risen from sleep, I thank You, Holy Trinity, for by Your great goodness and long-suffering, You, Lord, were not angry with me, lazy and sinful, and did not destroy me with my iniquities, but, as always, showed Your love for mankind, and raised me from the sleep of the night. me, so that I offer You my morning prayer and glorify Your power. And now enlighten my mental eyes, open my mouth to learn Your words, and to understand Your commandments, and to do Your will, and, confessing You with all my heart, to sing Your all-holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always, and forever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquities. Wash me from all my iniquities, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my iniquities, and my sin is always before me. I have sinned only before You, and I have done evil before You, so You are right in Your verdict and just in Your judgment. From my very birth I have been guilty before You; I am a sinner from my conception in my mother’s womb. But You love the sincere in heart and reveal to them the secrets of wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will become whiter than snow. Return joy and gladness to my soul, and my bones, broken by You, will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with Your Sovereign Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your ways, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from premature death, O God, God is my salvation, and my tongue will praise Your righteousness. God! Open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice - I would give it - and You do not favor burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a contrite spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Renew, O God, by Thy mercy Zion, erect the walls of Jerusalem. Then righteous sacrifices will be acceptable to You; then they will lay sacrifices to You on Your altar.

Creed

I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, everything visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten of the Father before the beginning of time; Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not created, consubstantial with the Father, through whom all things were created.

For us, for the sake of people and for our salvation, who came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and rose again on the third day, as the Scriptures foretold. And ascended into heaven and reigns with the Father. And He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; His kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, with the Father and the Son, equally worshiped and glorified, who spoke through the prophets.

May I not be the delight of the demons, guilty of many sins. Create, Most Immaculate, a new man out of me, who has become decrepit from all my sins and transgressions. If you could save me for my works, it would not be Your gift and gracious love. O inexhaustibly generous and inexpressibly merciful! You said, O Christ and my Lord: “Whoever believes in Me has eternal life.” If faith in You saves those who are perishing, behold, I believe! Save me! For You are my God and Creator. Let my faith instead of works be credited to me, O my God, for You will not find works that justify me. But may my faith be in place of all the deeds that I have not done, may it answer, may it justify me, may it make me a participant in Your eternal glory. May Satan not kidnap me, may he not boast that he has torn me away from Your hand and protection. But either I want it or I don’t want it, save me, Christ, my Savior, quickly, send me Your help, so that I will not perish: for You are my God from my mother’s womb. Grant me, Lord, now to love You, as I previously loved the sins I committed before You, and to work for You without laziness, as before I worked for Satan, the seducer and deceiver. May I labor for You, my Lord and God Jesus Christ, all the days of my life, now and always, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O holy Angel of God, guardian and patron of my damned soul and body! Amen.

What types of prayer are there?

Prayer books can be divided into supplications, thanksgivings, penitentials and doxologies.

What is the difference between prayer and conspiracy?

The fruits of prayer.

“The fruits of sincere prayer: simplicity, love, humility, patience, kindness, and the like. All this, even before eternal fruits, produces fruit here in the life of the diligent.” Saint Gregory of Nyssa

“The fruits of true prayer: bright peace of the soul, combined with quiet, silent joy, alien to daydreaming, conceit and heated impulses and movements; love for neighbors, not separating the good from the evil for the sake of love... but interceding for everyone before God as for oneself.” Bishop Ignatius (Brianchaninov)

What are the causes of absent-mindedness and temptations in prayer?

“So, one who is diligent in prayer must ask for it and know that in such an important matter, with much diligence and effort, he must endure a difficult struggle, since the spirit of malice attacks them with special force, trying to overthrow our efforts. Hence the weakening of body and soul, effeminacy, carelessness, negligence and everything else that destroys the soul, tormented in parts and given over to its enemy. So, it is necessary for the soul to be controlled by the mind, like a wise helmsman, showing the direct path to the heavenly pier and delivering the soul intact to the God who entrusted it.”
Saint Gregory of Nyssa

What are icons for?

When might a prayer not be fulfilled?

When what is asked is not useful to the soul of the person praying or he needs to acquire humility and patience.

“The mouth can ask for everything, but God fulfills only what is useful. The Lord is the all-wise Distributor. He cares about the benefit of the person asking and, if he sees that what is asked is harmful or, at least, useless to him, he does not fulfill the request and refuses the imaginary benefit. He listens to every prayer, and the one whose prayer is not fulfilled receives from the Lord the same saving gift as the one whose prayer is fulfilled. Therefore, be sure that any request that is not fulfilled is undoubtedly harmful, but a request that is heard is beneficial. The Giver is righteous and good and will not leave your requests unfulfilled, because in His goodness there is no malice and in His righteousness there is no envy. If He delays in fulfilling it, it is not because He repents of the promise, on the contrary. He wants to see your patience."
Venerable Ephraim the Syrian

“First of all, we need to know that we are not allowed to ask for everything we want, and that not in every case we know how to ask for useful things. One must make requests with great caution, conforming them with the will of God. And those who are unheard need to know that either patience or increased prayer is necessary.” Saint Basil the Great

“Sometimes our request is immediately heard, but sometimes, according to the Savior, God is long-suffering for us, that is, He does not quickly fulfill what we ask: He sees that this fulfillment needs to be stopped for a while for our humility. When your request is not fulfilled by God, reverently submit to the will of the All-Holy God, Who, for unknown reasons, left your request unfulfilled.” Bishop Ignatius (Brianchaninov)

According to the Gospel, one of the conditions for prayer to be heard is reconciliation with neighbors. The Gospel says: “If you bring your gift to the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift” (

To the Guardian Angel:
Holy Angel of God, guardian and patron of my soul! Always be with me, morning, evening, day and night, guide me on the path of God’s commandments and remove all temptations of evil from me. Amen.

MORNING PRAYERS:
We are children of God, and every morning we raise our first thoughts to our Father who is in heaven: we greet Him, we thank Him for a new day of life. The main idea of morning prayer is worship of God. The rising sun awakens all living things. In this we see the way of God and glorify the Giver of life. At the same time, we come face to face with our life tasks, which are participation in the work of God. By sacrificing our labor to Him, we ask for His help and renew our sincere intention to live in unity with Him.

Appeal to glorify God:
Come, let us sing to the Lord, let us exclaim to the rock of our salvation; Let us come before His face with praise, and let us shout to Him in songs.
For the Lord is the great God and the great King over all gods.
The depths of the earth are in His hand, and the tops of the mountains are His; The sea is His, and He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down and kneel before the face of the Lord, our Creator; for He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Ps 95(94), 1-7

Morning praise:
I praise You, my God, and love You with all my heart. I thank You for creating me, making me a Christian and saving me from death this night. I give You all my actions today - may they be pleasing to You and serve Your glory. Save me from sin and all evil. May Your grace always be with me and my loved ones. Amen.

Please have a good day:
Lord, Almighty God, You have allowed me to live to see a new day: strengthen me with Your grace. Help me today to see in every neighbor the dignity of the children of God, and to be able to show them love. Help me create an atmosphere of goodwill and joy around me. Let my thoughts and actions express Your will. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Longing for God:
God! You are my God, I have been looking for You since the early dawn; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You in the empty, parched and waterless land, to see Your power and Your glory, as I saw You in the sanctuary: for Your mercy is better than life. My lips will praise You. So I will bless You in my life; in Your name I will lift up my hands.
How my soul is satisfied with fatness and oil, and my lips praise You with a joyful voice, when I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, for You are my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice; My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
Ps 63(62), 2-9

Prayer calls for faith, hope, love and contrition:
My God, You are the infallible Truth, I believe in everything that You have revealed to us, and that the Holy Church tells us to believe. I believe in You, the one true God in three equal and self-existent Persons: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who became man for our sake, died on the cross and rose again, who will reward each person according to his deserts - reward or punish. I wish to always live by this faith: Lord, strengthen my faith.

My God, I trust that, according to Your promise and the merits of our Savior, Jesus Christ, You, in Your goodness, will grant me eternal life and the grace necessary for me to deserve this life by the good deeds that I am obliged and willing to do. Lord, do it so that I can rejoice in You in eternal life.

My God, I love You with all my heart and above all, for You are our infinite good and our eternal happiness! I love You, God, in my neighbor - make me love You even more.

My God, I grieve with all my heart for my sins, for having committed sin, I deserve Your punishment. I grieve for them, for I have offended You, who is infinitely good and most worthy of love. With Your help, I undertake to avoid temptations in the future, so as not to offend You anymore. God! Strengthen me!

Committing your work to God every day:
God, Lord and Creator of the universe, I give You all my labors today, and through them I want to express my love for You, for Your Church, for my family and the whole world. Help me to do them joyfully, as if I were participating in Your work of creation. May this work serve the sanctification of my soul and the good of other people. I accept all the suffering associated with it as participation in the cross of Jesus. O my Lord, I entrust all unemployed, poor and unhappy people to Your All-Good Heart. Saint Joseph, patron saint of all workers, pray for me and for everyone who works with me. Amen.

PRAYERS DURING THE DAY:
God is Love, He loves us - His children. Throughout the day, we want to thank God for His love for us by responding with our love. And we will be able to answer when we entrust our daily affairs, food, study, work and rest to Him in prayer.

Prayer before work:
Almighty God, may Your inspiration anticipate our deeds; Strengthen them with Your grace, so that every work we do begins in You and is completed in You. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer before studying:
O Holy Spirit, sanctifying our hearts and minds, give us the desire and ability so that studying will be useful to us in earthly and eternal life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer after studying:
We thank You, Lord, for the light of teaching, so that, illuminated by it, we can always glorify You and do Your will. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of Praise:
For all the good deeds of the Lord,
For the treasures of faith and grace,
For our labor and its fruits,
For moments of firmness and for weakness,
For peace, struggle, health and illness,
For happy laughter and tears of sorrow,
For the heavy cross laid upon us,
May Jesus Christ be glorified!

Prayer before meals:
Bless us, O Lord God, and these gifts, which we will partake of in Your goodness, and grant that all people may have their daily bread. We ask You through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer after eating:
We thank You, God, for all Your good deeds. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reflection:
The prayers we say have a rich semantic content. It is useful to sometimes reflect on them in peace and quiet. By doing this, we will see that they speak about what is close to our hearts. It would be very good if we could also find guidance in them. In the end, you should make a practical decision - one, but a firm one.
Before you begin such a prayer, you need to concentrate and humble your heart before God, who abides with us and gives us His love. Ask Him to help us pray. Concluding our reflection, we must present our decision to God, thank Him for the grace of being with Him, for strengthening us and illuminating our mind. This is the simplest method of thinking.
It will be good if we add to our prayerful reflection the texts of Holy Scripture, psalms, prayers of the Rosary and the Stations of the Cross. You can use other prayers suggested in this prayer book.

Brief prayer requests:
God can also be addressed repeatedly throughout the day in very short prayers called short invocations. They can be said anywhere, almost at any time, on the way to work, and even while doing something. Anyone who finds such a prayer for himself and makes it truly his own will be able to feel the full power of its action.
My Lord and my God!
You, Lord, are good and merciful!
Lord, increase my faith!
God, Thy will be done!
God, I trust in You, let me not be ashamed!
Lord, my hope!
Have mercy on me, Lord, in my sorrows!
Guide me, O God, on Your paths!
Come, Lord Jesus!
All for the glory of God!
Remember me, Lord...

Teach me, Lord, to serve You worthily, teach me to give, regardless of the cost, to work without knowing rest; teach us to work without asking for any other reward other than confidence in the fulfillment of Your will. Amen.
St. Ignatius of Loyola

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary:
O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the true God and Mother of the Church! Mother of grace, Teacher of hidden and quiet self-sacrifice! To you, who comes out to meet us sinners, we dedicate ourselves and our love. Through Your hands we entrust to Your Son our life and work, our joys, illnesses and sorrows.
Ask our homes for the grace of love and respect for all life. Grant the same love with which You conceived the Divine Child in Your womb. O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of gracious love, keep our families in unity and bless our children.
You are our Hope and hope; look upon us mercifully and teach us to always turn to Jesus. Teach us to rise after falling and return to Him through confession of sins in the holy sacrament of reconciliation, which gives peace to our souls. Help us return to Jesus through the sacrament of the Eucharist.
Most Holy Mother, with a humble conscience and a heart free from wickedness, we will be able to bring to all people the true joy and peace of Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with God the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

EVENING PRAYERS:
During evening prayer, we thank God for the day we have lived, examine our conscience, thank God for the good and ask for forgiveness for the evil we have done. This is the best moment for family members to forgive each other for minor offenses.
Before night falls, we entrust to God everyone and everything that our hearts hurt about. We remember death and the meeting with God that awaits us, we think about His judgment and mercy; We express our faith, hope, love and contrition for sins. You can read the prayers given here, or pray in your own words, or read selected passages from the Holy Scriptures. It is recommended to join the prayer of the Church - the Liturgy of the Hours. Evening prayer of the Church (Vespers) or prayer before bed.

Evening test of conscience:
Every person who wants to develop spiritually must realize the enormous importance of a daily examination of conscience. Examination of conscience is a time of prayer, a time of encounter in which we renew our life with and in Christ day by day. It gives us the opportunity to more fully and objectively see the presence and action of God in our lives, to know His plans for us so that we can find Him in everything and everywhere - not only during the time allotted for prayer. The test of conscience is not only an analysis of the day, not only a moral assessment of our actions: our vision of life should lead us to search for an answer to the call of God, to self-determination in faith. During the nightly examination of conscience, the feelings with which one should end the day are put in order and focused: gratitude to God for grace and blessing, contrition for bad deeds and thoughts, a decision to correct one’s life, and surrendering oneself with trust in the hands of a good God.
Merciful God! I thank You with all my heart for all the blessings of today and the grace given to me. Come, O Holy Spirit, illuminate my mind, so that all the sins I have committed today will be revealed to me, and especially my main vice. Break my heart so that I sincerely grieve for my sins.
I believe, Lord, that You are the God and Father of mercy. Therefore, with humble hope, I offer my sins to You, so that You may look at my contrition and grant me forgiveness. For You are God Almighty, who whitens souls more than snow and the light of the sun. Amen.

Suggestions for examination of conscience:
PRAYER: My communication with God? The memory of His presence? Thanksgiving? Desire to live as a Christian? Petitions? Hope? Prayer for forgiveness?
WORK, STUDY, REST: Ability to manage time? Fulfilling duties? Dedication? Coming to terms with your own limitations and taking responsibility for your abilities? Struggling with laziness and difficulties? Forms of relaxation, care for a good mood?
COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE: Respect? Cooperation and mutual assistance? Kindness in words and deeds? Accepting reasonable offers? Attention to the concerns and suffering of others? Striving for justice? Protecting the weak?
Next we invite you to read the psalm:
The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life: whom shall I fear?
If evildoers, my opponents and my enemies come upon me to devour my flesh, then they themselves will stumble and fall.
Hear, O Lord, my voice with which I cry, have mercy on me and listen to me.
My heart speaks from You: “Seek My face”; and I will seek Your face, O Lord.
Hide not Your face from me; do not reject Your servant in anger.
You were my helper; do not reject me and do not forsake me, O God, my Savior!
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.
Teach me, O Lord, Your way and guide me on the path of righteousness, for the sake of my enemies.
But I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Trust in the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened, and trust in the Lord.
Ps 27(26), 1-2. 7-11. 13-14

Other evening prayers:
Oh God, another day of my life has passed. Every moment I lived was a gift from You: whether I worked or rested, communicated with people or was alone with myself, was happy or sad - everything was Your gift.
Thank You for everything that I have learned and experienced today. You alone know whether I was able to fulfill Your will. Forgive me for everything that I overlooked, that I forgot about, for everything that was not according to Your will. Have mercy on me, a sinner. Let me let a night's rest increase my strength so that I can live better tomorrow.
Take care of all those who sleep and those who work this night. I entrust my entire future and that of my loved ones to Your merciful care, our God and Father. Amen.

Orthodox prayers for all occasions read and listen online in Russian

Every person experiences difficult situations in life at least once throughout his life. An Orthodox believer in such situations, first of all, does not despair, but goes to church for help, to pray to the saints and ask them to guide them on the right path to resolving a difficult situation. There is a special prayer for help in difficult life situations. Sometimes, of course, if a person does not know its text, he makes a petition in his own words.

Prayers for those in difficult life situations

In Orthodoxy there are many saints to whom believers come for help. In difficult situations, the following saints are most often turned to:

  • Virgin Mary. The Mother of God is considered the intercessor of all Orthodox people.

Reverend Seraphim Vyritsky is one of the most revered Orthodox saints. He became a monk after the revolution ended. He was one of the representatives of strengthening the faith in the Leningrad region. In Orthodoxy, the saint is known as a miracle worker. Prayer to St. Seraphim Vyritsky helps believers in a variety of situations.

Life of a Saint
