For many housewives, pasta and spaghetti are simply a saving option when there is no time to cook something else, more complex. In addition, pasta as a side dish goes with almost everything: fish, meat, sausages, vegetables, cheese.

Perhaps the most popular option for cooking pasta in a slow cooker is pasta with ham and cheese. It looks very beautiful and appetizing, it cooks very quickly, it does not require much time to prepare the necessary ingredients, it is an unusually light dish in terms of calorie content that can be offered to family members and unexpectedly hungry guests.

To prepare the casserole you will need:

  • A pack of pasta or spaghetti, preferably made from durum wheat;
  • Ham 300 grams;
  • Hard cheese 300 grams;
  • Onion 1 pc.;
  • Can of canned corn;
  • Egg 3 pieces;
  • Milk glass;
  • Butter;
  • Pepper, salt.

Boil spaghetti or pasta in a separate bowl in clean water. It is imperative not to overcook them. As a guide, cook for about 10 minutes after the water boils;

Place in a colander and be sure to rinse well with cold running water to remove any remaining starch. Leave for a few minutes to allow the remaining water to drain;

Finely chop the onion, fry until beautifully golden;

Preheat the multicooker bowl a little in the Warm mode. Place butter on the bottom, wait until it completely melts, spread it over the walls;

Cut the ham into cubes or rectangles, grate the cheese on a coarse grater;

Place pasta, fried onions, canned corn, ham, onions, cheese on the bottom of the multi-bowl and fill the resulting layers with a pre-prepared and whipped mixture of milk and eggs;

Add salt, pepper;

Close the lid, turn on the Pilaf mode and wait 45 minutes.

Some housewives experiment and, while frying onions, add canned corn and slices of ham. The appearance of the casserole becomes more rich thanks to the fried ingredients.

But, this cooking option is not suitable for lovers of healthy food or those who fundamentally do not eat fried foods.

The same can be said for onions. Some healthy food lovers put it raw in a slow cooker with a casserole.

Experienced housewives who are well aware of the classic recipe for making pasta casserole with ham and cheese sometimes experiment. Additionally, you can add fresh or fried mushrooms, canned peas, fresh or canned beans. There are opinions that onions should be fried exclusively in olive oil so that they do not interfere with the taste and smell of the main ingredients of ham and cheese.

Some housewives, after reading this recipe, may call this dish Carbonara, but this is not so. Naturally, spaghetti Carbonara is prepared using a similar recipe and from similar ingredients. Some components will need to be changed.

Instead of milk, you need to take high-fat cream, ham can be replaced with smoked brisket, for a unique taste add a couple of cloves of garlic, spicy ketchup or tomato paste, Parmesan cheese and basil are a must.

It's best to serve the ham and cheese pasta right after it's cooked. A heated dish loses its softness and airiness. You can sprinkle fresh, finely chopped dill or parsley on top.

You can experiment with the appearance of the dish. You can buy pasta in a fancy, unusual shape, or try to lay it out in a pattern.
