Documents for obtaining a visa

Required documents to obtain a long-term visa to the UAE:

From February 1, 2017, the UAE authorities abolished the need for Russians to obtain a visa document, if the trip is for tourism purposes and its duration does not exceed 30 days. Russian tourists will be given an entry stamp at the airport free of charge and without additional formalities.

To visit the UAE for a long period of time ( more than 30 days) Russians still need a visa, which can only be obtained with the help of intermediaries. Long-term visas for tourism are issued through air carriers, tour operators and Visa Application Centers (VCs). Entry documents for private trips are opened at the UAE Migration Service only with an invitation from Emirati residents who have citizenship or a residence permit. Tourist. It is usually issued for 90 days, is not renewable and gives the right to only one entry into the country. It is possible to obtain a “multi-visa”.
Transit. Abolished on February 1, 2017. (If desired, passengers on connecting flights can, like any tourists, receive a free stamp allowing them to stay in the UAE for up to 30 days).

Service visa Suitable for participating in conferences, seminars, solving business issues, signing contracts. Usually issued for 2 weeks.

Asian Visa Application Center

A simple and convenient option for obtaining a visa is to contact the CC of Asian countries. Here Russians will be able to obtain a tourist, transit or cruise visa. Child visa

Children over 14 years of age are required to travel to the UAE on their own international passports. A young child can be included in the parents’ documents, in which case a child visa is issued free of charge. If a minor travels with only one parent, a consent for the child to leave the Russian Federation from the remaining parent.

Important point: Children under 12 years of age can only travel to the UAE with their parents or close relatives.

Sharjah is another Visa Center dealing with the opening of entry documents to the Emirates. Documents can be submitted in several ways:

The only documents you will need are a passport with a “reserve” of 6 months (a scan of it) and an electronic photo in color. The center will charge an additional fee for its services. To open a long-term visa to the Emirates, a Russian must either be an active traveler, or have enough funds for the trip, or receive an invitation from loved ones living in the country.

For active travelers

A copy of a visa received within the last five years for one of the countries: USA, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Great Britain, Switzerland, Canada or Schengen states.

Visa through a travel agency or hotel

Documents for obtaining a visa to the UAE

Issued to tourists wishing to stay in the country for more than 14 days, or to family members of persons residing in the UAE on long-term visas. Transit visa to the UAE (Transit Visa)

This type of visa is the most popular; it is suitable for those who visit the emirates specifically as part of a tourist trip. The visa is issued for a period of up to 30 days.

UAE visa cost

From February 1, 2017, the Asian Visa Center stopped issuing visas to the UAE for Russians. In accordance with the new rules, Russian citizens can stay in the UAE without a visa for up to 90 days.

Submitting documents electronically through a travel agency

You can also apply for a UAE visa electronically through a travel agency. In this case, documents are needed in the form of scanned images (color copy of the international passport, scanned color photograph 4.3x5.5 cm and a completed application form.

Scans of photographs and passports must be in JPEG format, the file size should not exceed 40 KB. However, copies of passport photos are not suitable - the photo and a copy of the passport must be sent as separate files.

File names must consist of the tourist’s first and last name (in English) and the date of arrival in the country. Documents are transferred to the travel agency on electronic media or sent by e-mail. Obtaining a visa to the UAE takes place directly in the country; upon arrival, before departure you must receive written confirmation of the readiness of the visa from the host party or hotel.

Submitting documents for a transit visa

There are several ways to obtain a transit visa to the UAE.
