The general public was first introduced to the new Ford Focus 3 in the first half of 2010 in Detroit, at the International Auto Show. Already in August of the same year, at the Moscow Motor Show, Russians were able to evaluate the new product, and more than a year later, in September 2011, sales of this car started in Russia.

Technical characteristics of Ford Focus 3

The European-spec Ford Focus 3 is powered by a completely new 1.6-liter EcoBoost petrol turbo engine with four cylinders and two power levels - 150 and 182 horsepower. Instead of a traditional automatic transmission, there is a choice of a PowerShift robot or a manual transmission - both 6-speed.

Unfortunately, EcoBoost engines are not installed on Russian Ford Focus. Instead, American versions of engines are offered - 1.6-liter gasoline units with a capacity of 105 and 124 horsepower, and a 150-horsepower 2-liter engine. After some time, an engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters and a power of 85 “horses” became available.

When, where and for how much to buy a Ford Focus 3

The production of Ford Focus 3 in Russia began with hatchbacks, a sedan was added in September, and a station wagon was added in the winter of 2012. Prices were announced at the same time orders for the new car began to be accepted - June 1, 2011.

Russians can choose from four available trim levels for the new third Focus: Ambiente, Trend, Trend Sport and Titanium. The basic configuration of a hatchback (532 thousand rubles) and a sedan (542 thousand rubles) with a manual transmission and 85 horsepower engines is the most affordable.

The appearance of the car is not very surprising, but it boasts good equipment:

It’s good that the developers took the security issue seriously. Already in the basic version of the car you can count on the following elements:

  1. A full-size spare wheel is located on the rear door (after the last restyling, the spare wheel was placed in the luggage compartment, under the double bottom).
  2. No one should be surprised by the presence of an ABS locking system - it’s hard to imagine any modern car without it.
  3. The developers also decided to add a stability control system - good news for Russian motorists.
  4. Manufacturers also took care of children - they added special ISOFIX fastenings.
