How and how to treat vitiligo at home: the best recipes and useful tips. Folk recipes

Before you, dear reader of our site, begin to study folk recipes for the treatment of vitiligo, I want to assure you that in this article we have collected the most effective and efficient folk remedies for the treatment of vitiligo.

Vitiligo - (translated from Latin"vitiligo"literally means damage or vice) pigment abnormality, which manifests itself in depigmentation of the skin, this disease is characterized by a sudden cessation of the synthesis of melanin, the substance that is responsible for the coloring of hair and skin.

Vitiligo, as a rule, appears against the background of absolute external well-being, without any signs of malaise; milky white spots of different shapes and sizes appear on the skin. Vitiligo is not a widespread disease, affecting between one and two percent of the world's population, and it can occur at any age, but people between 10 and 30 years of age are most often at risk.

It is quite difficult to treat vitiligo, because... Effective treatment methods have not yet been found due to the fact that the etiology of this disease is still not fully understood. But it is reliably known that vitiligo is considered a disease of the whole body, i.e. requires an integrated approach to treatment. And the cause of vitiligo is different for each person, because... Vitiligo can be triggered by many different factors: mental trauma, various infections, diseases of internal organs, genetic and endocrine disorders, dysfunction of the adrenal glands, thyroid and gonads, even poisoning and many other factors.

Although, as has already been said, at the moment the disease we are considering has been little studied, the following has been precisely established that vitiligo is autoimmune in nature, that is, a malfunction occurs in the immune system, due to which the body’s own cells begin to be perceived by the defense mechanism as foreign and dangerous. Therefore, if you have vitiligo, you need to carry out a whole range of measures to boost your immune system:

  • First of all, pay attention to the mental component, mental health, because vitiligo is considered a psychosomatic disease (psychosomatic diseases are diseases or painful conditions in which psychological factors (fantasies, ideas, etc.) play a key role in their etiology, formation, development and outcome).
  • stress resistance (try not to get upset over trifles, but rather avoid stressful situations);
  • daily routine (go to bed on time and wake up on time);
  • diet and food quality;
  • pay due attention to sports physical activity.

And also other activities that help increase immunity, because, as already mentioned, vitiligo develops as a result of a malfunction in the immune system.

This disease is like an indicator that not everything is okay with the body. To date, a specific cause provoking the development of the disease has not been found, but Indian doctors were still able to determine and prove that in people with a problematic thyroid gland, the percentage of development of the pathology we are considering is very high.

Vitiligo itself does not have serious consequences, except for cases of sunburn on skin that is not protected by pigment. But the factors that contributed to its appearance can be very serious. Vitiligo often develops against the background of pathologies of internal organs, cancer, nervous shock, and overwork.

Manifestations of vitiligo

The disease begins with small white spots, which then take on different sizes and shapes. This disease is more common in young and middle-aged women. However, it does not affect the general condition of the body and is of concern only for aesthetic reasons.

In relation to this disease, official medicine is trying to build a treatment regimen for the disease based on its cause, i.e. eliminate the cause and you will get rid of the disease. But at the moment, modern science does not know the agent that provokes the disease vitiligo. Therefore, as long as the cause is unknown, the effect of treatment leaves much to be desired: on average, a positive result is observed only in forty percent of cases, and complete cure is calculated in a few percent. The treatment itself also takes a lot of time, and since stress and anxiety provoke a worsening of vitiligo, patients are often prescribed sedatives throughout the course of treatment. An important place in treatment is given to diet, because... Proper nutrition is necessary to normalize possibly impaired metabolism.

Copper-containing preparations are used in treatment, which play an important role in the synthesis of the melanin pigment, since it is melanin that gives our skin its natural color. Even products containing placenta, which contain substances involved in the formation of pigment particles, are used; after applying these products to pigment spots, the patient’s skin is necessarily irradiated with ultraviolet rays, or he must be in direct sunlight. Only in this case can you get some effect.

Can vitiligo be cured? The success of therapy largely depends on the timing of its initiation. If you start treatment at the initial stage of development of vitiligo, the effectiveness of treatment is usually very high. After 5-6 years from the moment the first vitiligo spot appears, it is usually not possible to restore the pigment, even with the help of the most modern technologies.

Folk remedies for the treatment of vitiligo, as the last hope or the only correct treatment?

People who have undergone treatment in expensive clinics or are simply tired of months of expensive therapy and have not received the desired result are turning their attention to alternative methods of treating vitiligo. To do this, they resort to traditional medicine, getting recipes from the Internet or following the advice of friends who have encountered this disease. Some people do not go to doctors at all, but treat vitiligo on their own at home. Fortunately, no special examinations are required to make a diagnosis of vitiligo; a person himself can visually determine that he has vitiligo.

The result is usually very different, from a truly complete cure to no improvement at all. Everything is relative, and in each specific case an individual approach is needed; you need to choose the remedy that is right for you. It is for these purposes that we have collected the best, most effective and efficient folk remedies for treating vitiligo.

As for the treatment of vitiligo, folk remedies for treating vitiligo are very diverse. For this, ancient conspiracies, rare herbs, the lunar calendar, and even calls to higher powers are used. For now, we will do without magic and shamanism, but will use time-tested and practical folk recipes and folk remedies for the treatment of vitiligo.

When treating vitiligo, duckweed (a water plant) is often used as a remedy; the effectiveness of this treatment method lies in the fact that duckweed has medicinal properties due to the fact that it contains iodine and bromine salts in abundance. Its effectiveness is noted by many who have used the plant. The vitamins, proteins and microelements contained in it affect the body as a whole, strengthening it, normalizing and accelerating metabolic processes. Also, the use of this plant has a very positive effect on the immune system, increasing it and making the body more resistant to infections. It can be taken at any age. There are no contraindications, except for allergies and individual intolerance, so you can safely evaluate the effectiveness of duckweed on vitiligo in a practical way, then you will learn the process of harvesting duckweed and the most popular recipes.

Preparation of duckweed

In principle, there should be no problems with harvesting duckweed, because... You have the whole summer to harvest duckweed. The following point is important: duckweed must be collected in ecologically clean areas, otherwise the effect may be the opposite. Duckweed, like other plants, absorbs all heavy metals and chemicals. It is also important to select clean reservoirs for harvesting duckweed, with a clean bottom, so that the duckweed does not have a swampy smell. To be more confident that duckweed is environmentally friendly and that it will not have an unpleasant odor, you can grow it yourself at your dacha in a pond or at home in an aquarium.

To prepare, you need to scoop out the duckweed with a colander and place it on burlap to immediately sort out the garbage. Then the duckweed should be washed with clean water, placed on gauze, which should be tied in a knot and hung to drain excess water. To obtain raw materials, two buckets of duckweed are required. Life story of recovery from vitiligo No. 1

One of our readers could not recover from vitiligo for more than ten years. He tried many recipes: applied ointments, drank various tinctures, did blood transfusions, gave injections, drank vitamin complexes, but never achieved a complete cure until life one day brought him together with a man whose advice helped him completely recover from vitiligo.

Our hero is a renowned fisherman, and therefore, as usual, it was only when it began to get warm that he took up his fishing rod. And at one of the fishing evenings, the man met a fellow fishing enthusiast. And since he had been fishing for several days, he had already become quite tanned, as a result of which the white spots were especially striking in contrast. And a new acquaintance recommended him a recipe, with the help of which he himself got rid of this disease. He advised mixing acetylsalicylic acid with Vaseline, mix everything until smooth. Apply the resulting ointment to age spots and continue to do your usual activities, while fishing and sunbathing.

The man listened to him and applied the ointment daily to areas of the skin affected by vitiligo, after which he enjoyed fishing. About a month passed - and it’s hard to believe, but all the spots disappeared irrevocably, plus he had an even, beautiful tan without pigmentation. Since then, he has recommended this recipe for cure to everyone who suffers from vitiligo.

Recipe for preparing an ointment based on acetylsalicylic acid

You need to take ten tablets of acetylsalicylic acid, finely crush the tablets and mix them with regular Vaseline (for 10 tablets you need 25 grams of Vaseline). Try to mix very well to get a homogeneous mass.

Apply once a day to the spots and then tan in the sun. The course of treatment is designed for two months. This treatment can only be done in summer, since tanning requires natural sunlight.

Life story of recovery from vitiligo No. 2

After a vacation at the sea, the girl began to develop age spots on her chest and back; at first she thought it was a reaction to the sun. Over time, the spots grew larger and acquired clear, rounded outlines. At an appointment with a dermatologist, it turned out that it was vitiligo, he prescribed expensive drugs, which as a result turned out to be ineffective. She was forced to self-medicate, read a lot of literature on traditional medicine, tried many recipes and all to no avail. Nothing helped! I was looking for miracle drugs to treat vitiligo on the Internet, for which I spent a lot of time, effort and money buying various drugs - the result was zero.

But one day, while she was in the pool, she struck up a conversation with a woman who advised her how to cure vitiligo at home.

And the recipe that helped her get rid of vitiligo is very simple: you need salicylic acid, an alcohol solution of boric acid and any antifungal foot cream.

Salicylic and boric acid must be mixed in equal proportions, and with this solution thoroughly wipe the pigment spots for 10 days. During this time, the contours of the spots become less noticeable. After this, it is necessary to smear the spots with antifungal cream for another 7 - 10 days. A week after the end of treatment, you can visit the solarium 2-3 times (but without fanaticism). According to her assurances, there will be no trace of vitiligo left.

An excellent, well-proven remedy for the complex treatment of vitiligo in combination with external agents is a wine solution.

Cooking recipe: You need to boil the herb capitula in red wine over low heat. It is necessary to mix in the following proportions: for every two liters of wine, you need to take half a glass of pre-ground herbs. Boil the herb in wine for about 15 minutes. Take 50 ml of a decoction of red wine and herb capitula. twice a day, in the morning on an empty stomach half an hour before meals and once before bed.

Chop the parsnip leaves and pour boiling water: a tablespoon of raw material per 200 ml of boiling water. Infuse the mixture for two hours, then take 50 ml of infusion 4 times a day 15 minutes before meals. After a week, increase the dose to 100 ml 4 times a day. While taking the infusion orally, you should also rub the discolored area of skin.

Rubbing the discolored areas of the skin with freshly squeezed parsnip leaf juice also has a good effect. After this, you should sunbathe for a minute on the first day and one minute longer each subsequent day. As a result, at the end of the course (after three weeks), the duration of insolation will be 22 minutes. After a week of break, the course can be repeated.

Prepare a collection of dried and crushed plants: St. John's wort herb - 3 parts, sage - 3 parts, nettle leaves - 2 parts, plantain leaves - 2 parts, oregano herb - 1 part, chamomile flowers - 1 part, calendula flowers - 1 part.

Prepare a decoction: pour 4 tablespoons of the mixture into 500 ml of water and place in a water bath for 15 minutes. Cool, strain the broth and take 150 ml 15 minutes before meals three times a day.

Grandmother's methods: treatment of vitiligo with chicken bile

For treatment, you will need chicken gall bladders. You need to eat one gall bladder from a freshly slaughtered chicken every day. The top of the bubble is washed with water and after that it must be eaten. Treatment is carried out as follows. First, you need to eat the bubble for seven days in a row, after which you take a break for one week. After this, you need to eat the bubbles for 21 days, then rest again for a week. And you will also need one course of seven days. Vitiligo spots should go away completely after this course of treatment. Relapses, according to reviews of people who have undergone treatment, are not observed.

It is very important that the gall bladders come from freshly slaughtered chickens, so it is better to negotiate in advance with some private owner or farmer.

The exact reasons for the development of this pathology have not yet been established. However, according to doctors, the disease is autoimmune in nature. In other words, the main factor provoking its development is a failure in the human immune system. The following can also contribute to the appearance of vitiligo:

  • burns and skin damage;
  • hormonal and endocrine disorders;
  • certain medicines;
  • genetic predisposition;
  • exposure to chemicals;
  • problems with the digestive system;
  • prolonged exposure to sunlight or frequent visits to the solarium.

At the initial stage of development of the pathology, there are no pronounced symptoms. In some cases, first there is a slight tingling sensation, mild itching, the sensitivity of the skin increases, and only after this does the formation of white spots occur. They have clear outlines and are mostly round in shape. At the same time, no negative changes on the skin - peeling and atrophy - are observed.

Now let's talk about how you can deal with this problem. Generally speaking, it is possible to treat this pathology using both traditional and folk medicine. However, there is one very important point to note here. As you know, in traditional medicine the main principle of treating any disease is to eliminate the causes that provoked its occurrence.

However, in the case of vitiligo, it is quite difficult to establish them. Because of this, traditional therapy for this pathology is not always effective. Most often, patients are prescribed copper preparations that help normalize the process of melanin pigment synthesis. In addition, there is another option called photochemotherapy. Using this technique, the sensitivity of the skin to ultraviolet radiation increases. Before irradiation, an ointment containing a photosensitizer is applied to the problem area.

At the same time, today vitiligo is increasingly being fought at home using traditional medicine. There are a fairly large number of recipes to help cope with this pathology. For example, treatment with red pepper tincture showed good results. It’s not difficult to prepare it yourself. Place 5-6 pre-dried red pepper pods in a liter jar and fill them with 500 milligrams of vodka.

Next, cover the container with a plastic lid, wrap it with thick cloth and place it in a dark place for 25 days. At the same time
The infusion must be thoroughly mixed daily. After the expiration of the prescribed period, the pepper can be thrown away, and the medicine itself must be rubbed into the white spots 3 times a day. The duration of each such procedure should be at least 5 minutes. Moreover, you need to rub in the infusion during this time without interruptions. After the procedure, you need to spend at least half an hour in the sun so that the rays hit the problem areas.

Black pepper is also suitable for treating vitiligo. Scientists have already proven that the piperine it contains helps with this pathology, stimulating the synthesis of the melanin pigment. The recipe for making the medicine is also very simple. You need to take equal parts of ground black pepper and baking soda and mix these ingredients thoroughly. Next, rub the resulting powder into problem areas of the skin. Regularly carrying out this procedure leads to increased formation of pigment in the place we need. Accordingly, after some time the spots will simply disappear, or rather, they will acquire the same shade as the rest of the skin.

Swamp duckweed is also an effective remedy for combating vitiligo. This is explained by the presence of iodine and bromine salts in its composition. You can use duckweed in this situation in different ways - in dry form or prepare an infusion from it. In the first case, you need to take 1 tablespoon of raw material and grind it using a meat grinder with a fine mesh. Next, take the same amount of honey, mix both of these components and place in a glass jar. In fact, the medicine is already ready. It must be stored in the refrigerator, and always covered. You should immediately warn that treatment of vitiligo with this remedy will be quite long. As a rule, real results will appear only if you take 1 teaspoon of the medicine three times a day for 2 years.

You can also make an infusion from duckweed. Take 1 teaspoon of raw material and add 50 milliliters of vodka. In this case, it is recommended to pre-rinse the duckweed under running water and place it in a dark, opaque glass container. After this, this component of the medicine can be filled with vodka. Then we wait a week for the product to infuse. After this, filter the medicine through gauze. This remedy should be used as follows. Fill the glass a quarter full with water, add 15-20 drops of tincture, and drink. This should be done 3 times a day. To prevent the medicine from losing its healing properties, it must be stored in a cool, dark place.

In addition, black cumin oil can be used to combat this pathology. There are 2 options here - external and internal use. In the first case, you must first rub the problem areas with a piece of cloth soaked in vinegar. Next, apply black cumin oil there. After this, you should go out into the sun and expose your skin to the rays for at least half an hour. Black cumin oil can also be used internally. The recipe for making this medicine is very simple. You need to take a glass, fill it halfway with water and add 1 teaspoon of black cumin oil. You need to drink this remedy twice a day.

The name of this disease is more like the name of a rare flower. And the disease itself manifests itself in a rather exotic way - with vitiligo, areas of a person’s skin become discolored. Vitiligo can affect people of any race - both Asians and Africans. Most often it affects people aged 10 to 30 years.

This is not only a cosmetic defect: areas of vitiligo are very sensitive to sunlight and burn easily - because the skin in these areas does not produce melanin at all.

By the way, there is a version that Michael Jackson was transformed from a dark-skinned boy into a man of extreme pallor not by plastic surgery, but by vitiligo.

White spots of vitiligo on the skin map

Vitiligo is a disease with character. The spots can grow and suddenly disappear, change shape, and often the hair becomes discolored along with the skin. A milky white area can appear on any part of the skin, even on the head. In young people, such strands are considered early gray hair, but this may also be a case of vitiligo.

The disease can be treated at home. If you treat vitiligo in stages, you can get rid of albino areas in a few months.

  1. Determine the cause of vitiligo. Spots can occur due to contact of a skin area with synthetic clothing, diseases of internal organs, or an imbalance in the chemical balance in the body.
  2. Change your working or living conditions if vitiligo is caused by high concentrations of phenol or another chemical in the air.
  3. Stock up on natural medicinal raw materials for preparing lotions, ointments and other remedies.
  4. Balance your diet

There are few traditional recipes for the treatment of vitiligo, however, medicine can do little to help. But if you seriously decide to fight white spots, try the following folk remedies.

  1. Rose hip oil. It is necessary to saturate napkins with it and apply it to areas with vitiligo;
  2. Boiled anise roots. Boil the roots until soft, grind into a paste and apply hot to vitiligo as a poultice.
  3. Jerusalem artichoke (earthen pear). Squeeze the juice from the tubers and use for lotions.
  4. Aspirin. Crush the tablet, mix with Vaseline, apply a thick layer to the stain and stay in the sun for a short time.
  5. Ginger clay. Mix red clay with ginger juice and apply the mixture to the stain.
  6. Parsley roots. Let them steep in vodka for two weeks. Mix the tincture with lemon juice in a 1:2 ratio and apply the resulting mixture to lubricate vitiligo.
  7. Salicylic alcohol. Wipe areas of the skin with vitiligo with a swab soaked in it (combine with a short stay in the sun).
  8. Boric alcohol. Treat vitiligo and combine with short sunbathing.

The causes of vitiligo are individual for everyone, so do not despair if the chosen remedy does not help. Try everything that you are not allergic to - among the folk recipes there will definitely be one that will have a healing effect.

Alternative medicine against vitiligo

Strange disease - strange medicine. Healers assure that vitiligo should be treated not with lotions and tinctures, but with special means.

  1. Egg shells from newly hatched chickens. They take it with all the remains, do not wash it, boil it for 3 minutes and make lotions with this water.
  2. Dew from window panes.
  3. Foam from the horse's rump.

All these remedies are quite exotic, and cause a skeptical smile in people who are inclined to trust medicine rather than conspiracies. But do not forget about the placebo effect, and also that many substances have been very little studied by modern scientists. Who would have thought to study the foam from a horse’s croup? Or maybe it is precisely in it that the very chemical reaction occurs that conceals a panacea for vitiligo.

Let's try to overcome the disease with a balanced diet

Vitiligo may be curable with a special diet. Try introducing the following foods and dishes into your diet:

  • sesame seeds - you need to eat a small handful at night;
  • St. John's wort decoction - pour boiling water over a spoonful of the herb, take a tablespoon three times a day after meals;
  • duckweed with honey. Mix in a 1:1 ratio and eat a teaspoon a day. Go out into the sun for a few minutes to stimulate pigment production;
  • strawberry juice;
  • persimmon;
  • figs;
  • cherry;
  • seafood and crustaceans;
  • mint.

But it is recommended to exclude products such as mustard, margarine, coffee and alcohol from the diet if you are prone to vitiligo.

While the disease has not yet been defeated, it can cause great inconvenience - especially for ladies and especially if the stain appears on the face or neck.

The discolored area is most often flaky and extremely sensitive. When applying makeup, after a few hours it may begin to look different from the rest of the skin or cause discomfort.

The solution is to paint areas with vitiligo separately, with a thick, oil-based cream with high coverage. It is best to purchase a professional foundation, which is used for makeup for actors. It should be a tone or two lighter than your regular cream or powder. First, we will use it to thoroughly hide the vitiligo, and then we will apply the usual cream to the entire face.

Be sure to use sunscreen when applying makeup, and generally when going outside. For vitiligo spots, you can purchase a separate tube with a high level of protection - areas devoid of pigment will instantly burn.

Therapeutic baths against vitiligo

White spots do not appear immediately. Pigment production disappears gradually in an area of skin, so it is unknown where the next area of vitiligo will appear. For people who have a similar disease that is recurrent and occurs in different parts of the body, it is useful to do a “full immersion” in a preventive healing remedy - for example, an herbal bath. By the way, this procedure also has a general strengthening effect on the body.

Salt bath. Buy a pack of Dead Sea salts at a pharmacy or cosmetic store and treat yourself to a spa for 15-20 minutes. It is not recommended to stay in a salt bath for longer - it can have an irritating effect. A glass of salt is enough for one bath. You can also find packaged Dead Sea mud in stores; a mask made from it is also known as an effective remedy against vitiligo.

Buy a pack of Dead Sea salts at a pharmacy or cosmetic store and treat yourself to a spa for 15-20 minutes

Bath with pine needles and valerian. Pour 50 ml of valerian tincture into a warm bath and add 2 tablespoons of pine extract. The extract can be replaced with pine essential oil - 8-10 drops.

Birch bath. Take 200 grams of fresh or 50 grams of dry leaves, pour into a hot bath, wait until the water cools to a comfortable temperature.

Bath with the addition of sage, St. John's wort, decoction of calamus and string. A small amount (half a glass) of any of these remedies will make the bath effective against vitiligo.

As you can see, there are many remedies against vitiligo, all of them are available and inexpensive. If you approach the treatment of pigmentation disorders in a comprehensive manner, you will soon get healthy skin and be able to sunbathe as much as you like - without fear for your health and without masking.

We wish you success in defeating vitiligo!

Vitiligo (dog) is a chronic skin pathology, which is characterized by the appearance of white, depigmented spots due to the lack of melanin. They can be different in shape and size. If foci of vitiligo appear on the head, the hair in this area turns white. Skin depigmentation is rarely a birth defect. It mainly affects young women.

There is no clear answer to how to treat vitiligo. Each person with this pathology requires individual and long-term treatment. Together with medications, methods are used that can effectively combat the problem at home.

General treatments

The correct choice of treatment methods will determine how quickly and effectively a person will eliminate the problem. The main therapy is aimed at normalizing the metabolic process of cells that have lost the ability to produce melanin and stimulating them.

How to treat vitiligo on the face in adults? The most common ways to combat vitiligo:

  • PUVA therapy– irradiation of white areas with ultraviolet radiation of a given wavelength and intensity. First, substances that promote the perception of waves are taken internally, then ultraviolet light is applied to certain areas for several hours. It takes several sessions to get rid of stains.
  • Helium-neon laser– using special equipment, the laser is applied to depigmented areas.
  • Glucocorticosteroid drugs– used both orally and as local remedies.
  • Taking macro- and microelements, vitamins.
  • Diet therapy consists of consuming foods that promote the production of melanin.

Traditional methods are effective treatment. Such therapy should be combined (with the use of PUVA) to speed up the healing process. Common treatment methods at home include climatotherapy in the summer (30-40 days) and visiting a solarium.

Alternative medicine

Some of the non-traditional methods of combating vitiligo are:

  • acupuncture,
  • reflexology,
  • auripunktura.

These methods are not a panacea, but there are positive reviews about them. Some patients, if they did not get rid of the disease, were able to stop the growth of white spots. In addition, the listed methods have a beneficial effect on the body as a whole. The cost of one session ranges from 500 rubles. An average of 10 sessions are required.

Some healers claim that vitiligo can only be treated with special means: dew from a window, eggshells from newly hatched chickens. All these methods have a right to exist. Their effectiveness or harmfulness has not been proven. In the treatment process with such techniques, the placebo effect can play a large role.

Proper nutrition

To improve metabolism and saturate the body with minerals that promote the production of melanin in the skin (iron, zinc, copper, iodine), a balanced diet is necessary.

The menu should consist of natural products without synthetic additives. It is better to have breakfast with fruits and salads with vegetable oils. For lunch, you can eat soup containing ginger, steamed meat and vegetable salad.

  • fruits and vegetables;
  • porridge (barley, buckwheat, millet, etc.);
  • tyrazine-containing products (legumes, pumpkin and pumpkin seeds);
  • products containing copper (seafood, liver);
  • zinc and iron are contained in parsley, celery, buckwheat, blackberries, and nuts;
  • mint;
  • seaweed;
  • mushrooms.

It is better to season dishes with iodized salt. The diet should not contain canned food, baked goods, smoked meats, fatty foods, coffee, alcohol and hot seasonings.

Diet should be part of a comprehensive treatment. Thanks to it, it is possible to stop the emergence of new depigmented lesions.

  • If there is an allergic reaction to any component of the folk remedy, it should be excluded and other methods should be found to get rid of vitiligo.
  • Herbal medicine is not used for children under 4 years of age. And for older children, the dosage is set to half that of adults.
  • Treatment will be more effective if you establish the right lifestyle - avoid stressful situations, get enough sleep, walk in the fresh air.
  • In case of local lesions of vitiligo, the spots can be masked using cosmetic procedures (makeup, camouflage, tattooing).
  • People with pale complexions should limit exposure to direct sunlight. Against the background of a pale face, vitiligo spots become less noticeable.
  • From time to time, the skin can be lightened through chemical peels or dermabrasion.

To achieve a positive result in the treatment of vitiligo, you need to be patient - the therapy is quite long and consistent. You cannot stop and interrupt treatment. Before treating the defect at home, you need to visit a doctor. He will help identify the cause that contributed to the appearance of the pathology and recommend suitable comprehensive treatment.

Content

A disease in which milky pigment spots appear on the skin due to insufficient melanin production is called vitiligo. In complex therapy of pathology, in addition to drug treatment, the use of local and systemic traditional medicine is recommended.

Recipes for internal use

Treatment of vitiligo with folk remedies at home is carried out using herbal medicine methods. The following plants and herbal preparations have a systemic effect:

  • Tincture of St. John's wort (3 tbsp), calendula, medicinal chamomile and sage flowers (2 tbsp each), nettle, plantain, calamus root (1 tbsp each). The mixture is poured into 0.5 liters of boiling water and left for 20-40 minutes. Taking the drug is combined with a course of ultraviolet irradiation (physiotherapy with ultraviolet irradiation), 150 ml before main meals. Before drinking, the infusion must be strained.
  • Wine solution with beech powder. Boil 150 g of dry herb powder in 2 liters of wine for 20 minutes over high heat. The drug is taken 50 ml 2 times a day before meals and 1 time half an hour before bedtime.
  • Chicken bile. In a course of 7/21/7 days, after a week's break, you need to eat one gall bladder, preferably a freshly slaughtered chicken.

Essential oils for the treatment of vitiligo are taken orally or applied to the skin before going out into the sun to reduce exposure to ultraviolet rays. When preparing St. John's wort oil, the flowers of the plant are used. They are placed in a glass container, poured with olive oil, left in a bright place (preferably in the sun) for 2 weeks, shaken periodically. The finished product is squeezed to the consistency of sour cream; it should have a dark brown color. Take the mixture before each time you go outside, mixing 2-3 drops of the extract with a teaspoon of honey, washed down with water.

Black cumin oil

To prepare an oil extract, 30 g of seeds are poured into 200 g of vegetable oil and left for 7-10 days in a dark place. The product is taken 1 tsp. half an hour before meals, washed down with water and honey, 2 times a day, for 3 months. You can repeat the course after a two-month break.

Swamp duckweed

Duckweed, which contains iodine, bromine and zinc, which help normalize pigment metabolism, is considered an effective traditional medicine in the fight against vitiligo. For oral administration, prepare a decoction - 2 tsp. pour 500 ml of boiling water over the dried plant, bring to a boil, and cook for 10-15 minutes. Take the drug in courses of 4 months, 3 times a day, 220 ml.

External means

Traditional methods of treating vitiligo are also used externally. Ointments, oils and powders are prepared from plant materials and applied to age spots. The following remedies are considered effective:

  • Celandine juice. During the flowering period, the plant is collected (along with the root), dried, ground through a meat grinder and the juice is squeezed out of the resulting raw material. The liquid is poured with alcohol (or vodka) in a 2:1 ratio and applied to light areas of the skin twice a day for 10-14 days, then twice a week for a month.
  • Onions or garlic. Apply half an onion or a garlic clove (you can alternate every other day) to the lightened areas of the skin for 7-20 days (until the effect is achieved).

Black pepper

The effectiveness of topical application of the plant for vitiligo in some cases exceeds the effect of physiotherapy with ultraviolet radiation. Ground black pepper is mixed in equal proportions with soda and applied to light spots daily until the natural color of the skin is restored.

Birch tar for vitiligo

Tar-based ointment is prepared by mixing it with petroleum jelly in a 3:1 ratio. The resulting traditional medicine is applied to lightened skin 3-5 times a day for 2-3 weeks. Courses must be carried out at intervals of 2-3 months, because with frequent use it is possible to develop an allergic reaction and deterioration of kidney function (due to toxic effects).

Seeds

For vitiligo, lotions and compresses with water or alcohol concentrated tinctures from the seeds of certain plants help well. It is recommended to use the following traditional medicine recipes:

  • Parsley seed tincture. 20 g of seeds are poured into 200 ml of vodka and kept for 14-20 days. Add 500 ml of lemon juice to the finished mixture and make compresses with it - soak a piece of gauze with the product, apply it to the stain, secure with a bandage and leave for 1.5 hours. The procedure is carried out 2-3 times a week, the course duration is 3 months.
  • Radish seed tincture. 20 g of seeds are ground with a teaspoon of vinegar, applied to the stains, left for 20-30 minutes, and washed off with running water.
